ೃ★︎ ⟶ FOR PLOTTING. i would prefer if you came to me with a plot in mind, and i will try and do the same. plotting is usually not too hard for me to do, but sometimes i can get quite stumped. winging is fine, but i am still quite new to it so it can blind-side me a bit ghjfd.
ೃ★︎ ⟶ TIME ZONE & PACE. my timezone is gmt8. know that i am very not active with replies lol. i have bouts of intense writer’s block and low muse, so i might “ghost” our thread for some time, but i will try and let you know when that happens. please just poke me politely and respectfully if it has been over a week since you responded, and i will let you know how i am doing (this poke won’t make me reply, just remind me that i have to let you know how i am doing).
know that i might be active in the chat or responding to other threads does not mean i am ignoring our thread or you. sometimes it’s just how it is, and i will not be mad at you for doing the same.

- Step-Father: Samantha Wu, a lawyer, alive. Has a good relationship with Sungjae despite Sungjae initially not accepting Samantha's identity at first. Treats him as if he were her own son.
- Step-Step-Father: Steven Williamson, a chief detective, alive. Very kind and caring towards Sungjae, but is strict when it comes to routine and rules. Treats him as if he were his own son.
Appearance Trivia
- Height: 180 cm (5’11″).
- Hair: Dark black and short, usually no longer than his eyebrows if pulling his fringe down his forehead. Usually styled up with gel, but will sometimes keep it down when he's feeling especially unkempt.
- Eyes: Dark brown, almost black, usually behind a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. Isn't fond of contacts but will wear them when doing something athletic. Far-sighted.
- Piercings: Both lobes and an industrial on his right.

The Story
Part I
PROLOGUE I
✦ Yook Sungjae's mother is Yook Yuja, who was a descendant of Athena. Her great-grandmother was a demigod of Athena, allowing for Hermes to be aware of Yuja's existence. Yuja wrote a popular biography detailing her life in a South Korean cult back in the late 1970s as a teenager and how she escaped to America, specifically Seattle, Washington, stealing most of the cult's money and rendering them bankrupt, allowing her to gain Hermes' attention.
✦ Yuja, albeit skeptical of Hermes, or Ha Sungjae as he introduced himself as, when she first met him, eventually grew to love him as they spent more time together. He really loved her and wanted to learn more about her life beyond the biography, as she was noted to be an excellent and comedic writer despite her gruesome retelling of her childhood. However, Yuja did not allow the two of them to get married or have a child until she was 34. She only learned of his role as Hermes before her death.
✦ Sungjae was born in 1995, and he spent a year with both his mother and father, before his father mysteriously left after the three of them were at a soccer game. Sungjae would never learn of his father's true identity even after going to Camp Half-Blood.
✦ His mother would later tell Sungjae his father passed away in a car accident, not wanting to tell him the truth of being abandoned.

PROLOGUE II

✦ Sungjae and his mother lived together by themselves for around 3 years. She struggled with the loss of her husband and turned to alcohol. It was manageable for the first 12 years of Sungjae's life, and no one around them really noticed.
✦ Sungjae's mother remarried to a man named Samuel Wu when he was 5 years old. Sungjae got along well with his step-father, sometimes preferring his company over his mother's, though he would never admit that outloud. They had a close relationship where they would do things like play baseball and football, but Sungjae would also feel comfortable discussing his feelings with his step-father.
✦ At this time, Sungjae was involved in a lot of sports due to his "above average" athletic abilities, but struggled a lot in school. The only subject he did well in was History, as he found ancient histories, especially that of the Greek, Chinese, Roman, and Egyptian, to be interesting.
✦ When Sungjae was 10-years-old, his mother and step-father sat him down during Thanksgiving and told him that they were getting a divorce. Samuel also told Sungjae that he was transitioning to a woman, and she would now be referred to as Samantha, but Sungjae was free to call her his step-father. Sungjae did not accept this for a very long time.
✦ His step-father left their family, apparently she was also "gay", so she had been sleeping with her co-worker. Yuja knew this when they got together but she did not think it would come to this.
✦ Yuja's alcohol problem only got worse after the divorce. She was Sungjae's only parent, and so when her liver failed and she passed when he was 12, Sungjae had nowhere to go.
✦ Apparently, Ha Sungjae, or as he revealed to Yuja, Hermes had showed up before his mother's death. Sungjae did not get to meet him, and so he still believed he was dead.

✦ Sungjae was put into the Hermes cabin indefinitely until he was claimed. He was deemed not to be a full-time camper so he would go back to being admitted to the foster system after the summer was over.
✦ Sungjae enjoyed his time at the Camp and felt like it was the one place he truly belonged.
✦ He was incredibly depressed to be leaving to go back to the foster system, unsure if he would be able to make it back since Camp Half-Blood next summer due to living across the country.
✦ However, he had been informed by Chiron that a woman named Samantha Wu had submitted a request to see him. The ABILITIES
HIGH AGILITY & DEXTERITY
All Hermes children have a high agility and dexterity. Sungjae excelled in many sports as a child, particularly baseball (he was a really good at batting and pitching), basketball, and ice-hockey. He quit ice-hockey and basketball after moving to New York City, but continues to play baseball to this day.
enhanced senses & memory
All Hermes children have enhanced senses and memory. This has helped Sungjae a lot in his job as a Detective, but has also allowed him to cheat (when he didn't study) and do well (when he did study) when doing tests.
SLEIGHT OF HAND
All Hermes children have an affinity to steal and not get caught. Sungjae uses this often when he doesn't realize it, his kleptomania is quite low but he cannot deny he has stolen a few smaller things in his life. He particularly liked to steal test sheets when in high school to cheat on tests, and this did particularly well in sports, if they ever wanted to win in an underhanded way (which he cannot confirm nor deny he did a few times). This also helps as a detective as he is able to steal necessary evidences and documents and not get caught, but also disarm any dangerous individuals.

All Hermes children have an ability to create a boundary that no one can cross unless someone is more powerful than a Hermes kid. Helps a lot at his job and during sports when he is dealing with weaker individuals, but it tires him out so he does not use it often.
Sacred animal
All Hermes children have an ability to communicate with and have control over Hermes' sacred animals such as tortoises, rams, and hawks. Sungjae had a tortoise as a child, whose name was Leonardo after the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle.
adhd & dyslexia
All demigods have ADHD and dyslexia. Sungjae was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was around 6-years-old, and only had a formal ADHD diagnosis after he was brought to Camp Half-Blood.
Sungjae's ADHD, like all demigods, is used for combat in their heightened senses and aptitude for battle. Sungjae's ADHD made it so studying and school was hard for him, and makes it so his current job (especially the gods forsaken paperwork) is difficult for him to do.
