@hyuna m. sweetheart... there she goes again. in response, he puckered his lips and made a smooching noise then returned to his original position on the floor, not planning to move anytime soon despite her protests. it was a waste of time. no matter how much effort she puts in to get him to move, he'll stubbornly stay on the floor as if their project grade didn't matter - which, in daniel's case, it really doesn't. all he wanted out of university was to make friends, get a little too drunk, and end up on someone's bed. the reckless life of college that everyone warns others about was what he wished for. and above all, it takes all responsibility from his classes to do so. including this dance class and project.

when there was a pause in the room, he plopped his head up to witness what has happened. he didn't thought of her to easily give up. as he spotted the female removing her cropped sweater, he held his head up with his palm. what was she trying to do? as if in a trance, he looked at her with a half-lidded gaze and a tongue swiping over his bottom lip. whatever it was, daniel was enjoying the sight of her bundled up chest. it wouldn't be a surprise if his ear was lit up red. his eyes continued to focus on her sweating skin, not fully realizing the situation he was about to be in. the moment she took a glance at him, he laid back against the floor yet again as if nothing happened.

music started to play throughout the studio, echoing and almost taunting him to get up and dance. he shook his head again. although the start of the song was kind of a bop, he still relaxed on the floor with his arms behind his head. he closed his eyes momentarily before opening them and realizing how near hyuna was - it almost made him shocked enough to hide in a corner - which, thankfully, didn't happen. he swallowed to relieve his dry throat and to regain back his functionality. "tch. i'm not intimidated! what makes you think that?" he pouted as he sat up. he ran his fingers through his brownish locks as he leaned in closer towards her. "mark my words, you're going regret ever saying that." he provoked, his tone intense and crisp.

bluffing was indeed a curse. he took off from the floor and stood a few feet away from her. he listened again, this time to deliberately pick up any hints to make his dance 'even more' impressive. he didn't know anything about this song. is it american? he could pick up some phrases but not enough to be creative with his dance. he coughed into his arm awkwardly but retreated away to her phone and replayed the song. "you'll regret it." he repeated, his smile still smug as ever even though he doesn't have a clue what he's going to actually do.

daniel didn't have much options when it came to dance moves. the only amount of moves he learned was from looking at boy groups and their performances once. so that's what he did - he tried very hard to imitate it. he spread his legs, showing off his skinny jeans, his fingers ran smoothly throughout his neck to just below his hip bones. he grabbed the side of his hip and swayed a bit. by then, sweat formed on his forehead and his hair became increasingly wet - some strands even decided to stick on the side of his face. then he shimmied profusely, his hands now fists. he bopped his body along the beat - although completely off-beat - then decided to body wave towards the female, his hands sliding slowly throughout his chest. to stop himself from getting any closer, he collapsed onto the floor and breathed heavily as if that was the most excruciating thing he's ever done - which it kind of was but more embarrassing. he covered his face with his arm, steaming from shame.

@daniel k. Hyuna stared at him incredulously, was he serious right now? She could tell from his stretching that his form was terrible, and definitely not something to bluff about. She crossed her arms over her chest, irritation evident on her face. She watched as he scrolled through his phone, overreacting with the absence of his perfect song. If she could get away with smacking him straight in the face, she would, but violence against other students went against the school code of conduct. "Don't have the perfect song?" she scoffed, "you sure you have these 'amazing' dancing skills you speak of?". She narrowed her eyes at him before rolling them in annoyance.

If he thought that he would escape her like he did with the grocery store, he was sadly mistaken. "Oh don't worry, i'll make sure to pay extra close attention to you this time around" she replied, staring him straight in the eyes. She wasn't going to fail this project because of him so there was no way she was going to let him just leave this time. Just being in the same room as him was starting to be a struggle, but if she was going to go through this then she might as well get a great grade out of it. "You're not going anywhere, so get comfortable sweetheart" she stated, sarcasm evident in the last word she said. She wasn't going to continue dancing until she saw what she has to work with and if it was trash, she would have to teach him how to dance properly.

Hyuna waved her hand in front of her face, feeling the heat finally catch up to her after her dance. She pulled off her cropped sweater, leaving only her sports bra on. the were going to be her for a while and she wasn't planning on passing out from a heat . She tossed the sweater on her bag, grabbing his phone from the speaker and replacing it with her own. She scrolled through her songs, landing on one that made her bite her lip. If a man could dance this song, the things it would make Hyuna feel. It was strong and powerful, y, manly, everything you could have in a perfect song to show off your skill. She smirked, tossing a glance at Daniel who now occupied a space on the floor.

She the beat, 'I Can Transform Ya' by Chris Brown flooding the speakers in the room. She stood up, walking over to Daniel and crouching down by his face. "Dance" she challenged, "It's the perfect song for a man to show off his moves... or are you to scared to get beat by a girl in dance?". She raised her eyebrows at him, as if she was looking down at him. "It's okay if you're scared, obviously you get intimidated easily" she scoffed, standing back up and going over to sit by her bag, her arms resting lazily on her bent knees.

@hyuna m. daniel leaned on the wall, cocking his head to the side, his brown hair swaying. "can i even dance? hah. i wouldn't be in this class if i wasn't good at it." he bluffed as he poorly stretched his muscles, hand rubbing at the nape of his neck. he wasn't a terribly bad dancer he just didn't have the rhythm, timing, and speed to be great; other than that he'd be perfect. "forget your definition of dancing 'cause i'm going to show you what dancing really means." he continued to hype. but before he was able to dance and show off his very limited moves, he unplugged hyuna's stereo from her phone and replaced it with his own. he scrolled through his selection of music on his phone and passed several songs before melodramatically sighing. "none of these songs fit what i've got to show." he shook his head briefly before turning around to face his partner. "sorry, princess, but if i can't find the perfect song; how will it be possible to show off my moves?!" he exclaimed.

if it wasn't obvious enough, he didn't want to embarrass himself in front of someone who has experience in dancing. especially after nonchalantly showing off their moves? it seemed impossible to impress her so he doesn't want to even try. this was probably the one time he's ever shy and can't control the situation, it felt discomforting. he stood up, shrugged at her, and returned to his corner where he laid his grocery bag and sat down. "continue. i won't be here that long." he said, this time, truthfully. he didn't expect that he'd stay for as long as he had, even though half the time he was out in the convenience store. yet he decided last minute to stay and watch, pretend to take some notes, and eventually head out while she engrosses back to her dancing - which isn't really hard to know when that happens.

he was practically invisible when she was dancing and if he could get her to do it again, then he'd have an easy way out. he opened the plastic bag and grabbed a can of beer that he recently bought. although, it wasn't for the occasion of watching her dance, after observing her way of dancing, it now sure is. from that one glimpse, he could sense how talented she is, it was entertaining. all the body swerves and dips, it was enchanting. and the more he thought about it it'll end up making his ears red.

he lazily waved at her, signaling her to leave him be but he has a feeling that she won't let him rest if he didn't show her what he's got. he stubbornly laid down, his hands clasped behind his head. there was no way that he was going to dance, not in front of her at least. "no perfect song, no dancing." he shook his head again, assuring her that he, without a doubt, wasn't going to do it.

@daniel k. Hyuna took a moment to look at him, eyebrow raised in question. What in the world had made him so positive about everything? "I don't" she replied, scoffing under her breath, 'fighting' was so childish in her opinion. She proceeded with what she was doing, shaking her head at his response towards drinking. "It's always too early for a drink" she retorted, catching a glimpse of his smile before looking away, "If i'm ready for it? You have no idea what you're in for" she added, a small hint of a smirk appearing on her face as she talked, but he wouldn't even have heard her since he was on his way out of the room by then. She wondered if this guy could even dance or if he was just showing some overly confident facade...much like she was about her personality. She bit her lip when she heard his last comment before leaving, rolling her eyes before letting out a laugh when she knew he was gone. "Sweetheart my " she mumbled to herself, a small grin appearing on her face. He wasn't bad... not that she was going to let him know that, but that didn't mean that she trusted him, not even close.

While Daniel was away, all Hyuna did was dance, with a few small breaks in between to think out her ideas on the dance. She didn't know how good he was and what he was capable of, but she could only imagine that with a build like his, he was pretty damn good. She obviously would never let him know, but he was pretty damn attractive. Shaking her head to get rid of whatever she was thinking, she continued to dance, letting out a sigh of relief as she felt her tense muscles let loose, relaxing her body after being tense this entire day. Behind closed doors, when she was alone or with people she trusted, Hyuna was the sweetest and kindest girl someone could ever meet, but around other people she hid who she was. Most of her life she was judged, no matter what she did someone always had an opinion on her, making it seem like something was wrong with her... making her parents separate her from the world. They didn't want her being judged so they took it upon themselves to protect her, which didn't turn out the way they hoped it would. It had an affect on her, changed how she was with people and that's why she is who she is today.

She stopped dancing, being startled by Daniel's voice. She had been so consumed by dancing that she didn't even realize that he had come back. She scoffed at the complement, it was as much a complement as it was an insult. Yes her parents were proud, but who knows if it was of what she did. it wasn't the first time she heard someone call her y, but it still made her internally spazz about it, who wouldn't when a good looking man called a girl y? She just didn't show him that she was spazzing. Yet, with the attitude adjustment, she kind of wanted to smack him in the face for being so blunt. "My attitude doesn't concern you... sweetheart" she replied, added what he had called her earlier, letting him know that she had indeed heard what he said as he was leaving.

She paused the music as she sat down next to her bag, grabbing her water bottle as she took a sip, releasing her hair from the ponytail that it was up on and running her free hand through the now smooth long silver locks. "Can you even dance?" she suddenly questioned him, raising her eyebrow skeptically. Yes, he might look like he could dance, but can he actually pull of y? "Show me what you got... if you can" she continued, challenge sounding in her voice. She wondered if he would actually step up and prove that he could, or would he just sit on his lazy and drink whatever it was that he bought?

@hyuna m. it was genuinely surprising that she did have history in dance - with numerous partners no-less. they must've felt what daniel had been feeling ever since he came into the studio. it gave him some hope that she'll eventually open up and be kinder once the time comes. yet, with their clearly different perspectives of this project, he didn't want to hold his breath. unfortunately, it would've been easier if they were in good terms today. a guy can dream, of course. he observed the other stretching, giving a brief check out before he returned back to reality once she replied.

"not even a 'fighting'? you know, some people like that to lift up the mood." he responded with his arms crossed. without some sort of agreement between the two, it'll probably be the most beneficial factor of having a doomed project. it didn't matter to him either way, he could skip the lessons if he wanted to. he just wanted to see if his partner was somewhat nice and interesting. interesting, maybe. but nice on the other hand.. he smiled, flaunting his pearly whites. "it's never too early for a drink." he retaliated with a soft shrug. "y is- well, yeah, i can do y if you're ready for it." the light haired male dropped down to get his wallet from his bag and proceeded to make way to the door. with no response from the female, he took it as a silent whatever, which he replied by his teeth. "don't wait up, sweetheart." he slyly joked as he left the studio.

it didn't take long for him to reach the local convenience store and pick out some beer. they were expected to be there for an hour at least, plenty of time for the female to change her mind about a drink. it might be a reach, sure, but it was a possibility. plus, if she didn't want any - preposterous when she had a incredibly handsome host - he has the option to conjure up any of his friends from his phone. he dropped a snack into his bin and, once feeling content, he paid up at the register. with a plastic bag in hand, he returned to the familiar black door and a feeling of regret swarmed his body briefly. he should've turned around when he got the chance but here he is - it was far too late to turn back now.

he sighed in the hallway as he took a look into the window to check if she even noticed him gone. when he spotted her and heard the booming music play instantaneously, his mouth was agape with a mixture of emotions. the dance was oh-so ual that he felt a little weirded out by it. swallowing his spit, he opened the door and made his entrance. "- your parents must be so proud. pretty and y. but if you ask me, need an attitude adjustment. otherwise, i'm envious." he commented without a thought as he dropped his freshly bought items next to his bag.

@daniel k. Setting her phone down beside her with a low beat playing, she sat down on the floor, her long legs stretching into a split as she leaned forward bending all the way down to the floor. These stretches were routine for her before she danced, preparing her body by warming up and gaining flexibility. She leaned over to reach her left foot as she replied to Daniel's question, "Yes, plenty of times. It's my minor". Hyuna was used to dancing with partners, but they were always people she knew for years before, people she trusted and believed in. The routines she danced were always sensual with the male partner, giving the crowd something to cheer for.

"Excited about what? I do this on a daily basis" she replied, finishing her stretches and standing up from the ground, grabbing her phone and dusting off her pants as she stood. "A break from what? We haven't even started yet" she scoffed, turning to give him a slightly annoyed look. She could tell from how he was acting that he was usually the one who didn't do projects, barely even bothered, but for Hyuna this was important and counted for half her grade. She'ed be damned if she left him mess this up for her. She raised her eyebrows incredulously, "A drink? Seriously? It's literally 4 in the afternoon" she ridiculed him, "You can go drink, i'll just work on a concept for the dance... hope you're fine with it being y".

With that being said, she proceeded to ignore him as she scrolled through the songs on her phone, landing on 'Chained' by Nick Jonas as something to practice with. It didn't have to be the song they used, but it could still be something to give her ideas. Hyuna plugged the phone into the speakers, the slow beat of the drums starting to flow throughout the room. Her body movements were fluid, y, precise. She did this every day of her life, it was her thing, what makes her relaxed. As she danced, her hips swaying to the beat of the song, she completely forgot that her partner was even there. For all she cared, he could go get his drink as long as he didn't mess up the project for her.
daniel k. 6 years ago
@hyuna m. that was certainly short-lived. in a perfect world, they'd be laughing and possibly bond over a drink while ditching the whole project altogether. based on her cold front, he better not get his hopes up. he gave her a shrug, at least she knew she was late. moments later, he caught the little eye roll which annoyed him a little. he was trying very hard to get her to open up but his attempts end up making her more indifferent. so far for being excited to have a female partner.

hyuna - so the cold princess had a name. he looked over the familiar paper with the assignment, scanning it briefly before glancing at the other's static expression. with a loud huff, he gave his ashy locks a good rub. "uh- have you ever danced before? you know with a partner?" he asked, his brows scrunched together as he analyzed the other's build. she was pretty but she didn't look much like a dancer. if she was, god bless her past dancers for having to deal with her. a couples dance showing unity and trust, so far he has yet to see that happen in this studio. "could at least sound a bit more excited." he commented briefly. her attitude was kind of bumming him. with the idea of performing this in front of so much people, it gave him the chills and made him a tad bit worried. "let's take break and research what we're doing - i guess. actually, i just need a drink." he blurted with a nervous chuckle.
george m. 6 years ago
@jessica j. George was sitting in the classroom after school hours waiting to meet up with his partner for the big music comp project that was coming up. All music comp students had to pick another student studying in a related music field and collab with them to make a song. George had looked on Facebook to see if anyone from his school would be interested. He had ended up finding a girl named Jessica, who was apparently, a singer. He had messaged her to see if she was willing to collab, and after a few back and forths, he told her to meet him here after school.

George tapped his foot slowly, just liking the sound it made, waiting for her to arrive. But, the problem was...he sort of forgot her name already. Damn short-term memory loss.
hyuna m. 6 years ago
@daniel k. Hyuna shifted her gaze towards him, giving him a once over. "I wouldn't get on my knees" sh replied nonchalantly, "Sorry for what? It was only three minutes" she added, crouching down as she reviewed the guidelines for the dance project, using one hand to sweep her ponytail out of her face. Why was he talking, trying to make conversation... even if it was trying to reprimand her, at which she couldn't help but roll her eyes. As she continued to ignore him, she started thinking about the project. It was supposed to be a couples dance, showing unity and the ability to trust your partner, but the theme and everything else was up to them.

She turned back around to look at him, scanning him over once more. What dance would they be able to pull off, what would the audience enjoy? 'He was good looking, nice build, most girls would probably go crazy for him...something y would probably appease most people' she thought, lost in thought as she was staring at him. She snapped out of her thoughts when he said his name, Daniel was it? "Hyuna" she replied. "We have to preform this in front of people, so lets just get this over with" Hyuna stated, a sigh escaping her lips. The faster this was finished, the more at ease she would feel. Being around people just made her uncomfortable, alone in a dance studio... now that would have been ideal for her.
daniel k. 6 years ago
@hyuna m. daniel was taken aback from the rude gesture. she didn't even greet him or acknowledge him. this was off to a great start. with a snarky smirk (and maybe even a small scoff), he looked over her busying herself with her phone and speakers. "now don't start begging on your knees for forgiveness, a simple apology would do.. you do know you were late, right?" he teased with a chuckle that echoed throughout the studio. "it said on the handout that we were supposed to meet three minutes ago, we are group five aren't we?" he doesn't actually care - that much - about her being late but the fact that the other had an apathetic expression on, he wanted to get some sort of reaction from her. you know, to make sure she wasn't some ghost disguised as his dance partner.

he coughed suddenly from the awkward, almost unbearable, tension. due to the project being assigned at the end of the class, the partners weren't even introduced to each other before the period was over. this was the best time to introduce themselves or maybe not? who knows - she was very hard to read. "anyway, i'm kang daniel. daniel will be just fine. you are?" he said, his voice pitching at the end to emphasis his curiosity. he could almost sense the other's dread of doing this project, probably even more than him. just what was her problem? hoping to get some answers soon, he dropped his bag with half-care next to hers on the floor.
hyuna m. 6 years ago
@daniel k. Hyuna rushed from her psych lecture, to the girl's locker room near the dance studio. She was assigned to a partner project earlier that day, which required them to create a dance together. To say that she disliked working with other people was an understatement. Hyuna rather get things done herself without the prying and judging eyes of other people. She took her time in the locker room, changing from her regular outfit to a pair of black tight fit sports leggings and a crop top that ended right below her chest, which were her everyday practice clothes. Putting on a pair of sneakers and tying her long silver hair up into a lose high ponytail, she grabbed her bag and made her way to the dance studio.

Reaching the door of the studio, she peered into the window, catching a glimpse of a guy leaning against the wall, waiting. She could guess it was most likely her partner and to be honest, she didn't want to go in. Group projects were her worst enemy, and she felt like she rather run away than do this dance. Yet she found herself turning the knob of the door and walking in. She never understood what came over when she was around people, but she became cold, emotionless and non talkative. She barely acknowledged his presence with a nod of her head as she set her bag down on the floor, against the wall as she retrieved her phone and speakers from it.
daniel k. 6 years ago
@hyuna m. well, this could be a lot worse. he wasn't much of a project kind of guy and teamwork wasn't something he could simple do. if it wasn't for the creative aspect of the assignment, he'd be running away to the hills and avoid any responsibility. however, it was worth to at least try especially the music bit of it all. daniel arrived at the door of the dance studio, looking fairly decent with his disheveled hair and well put outfit. his eyes peered through the little window to check if his partner was anywhere to be seen. with a sigh of relief, he didn't spot them from his brief look through. is it too late to turn back now?

he scratched the nape of his neck before opening the door and reluctantly let himself in. the dance studio was spacious, as expected, and felt quite relieving because of the vastly different atmosphere from his lectures. he took a space on the wall and leaned back. if he doesn't see his partner in a minute, he'll just bolt out of there. it might've seemed rude but he had a sudden urge to laze around today - the weather was fitting for it anyway. with a tap of his shoe against the wooden pavement, he waits - impatiently - for his partner to show.
