on the dating ban
this is to clear up some confusion here and there, about the dating ban we have in place.
as a reminder: it is two weeks after joining, for each individual character (re-applies after cc'ing). The only exception is move-in couples.
The purpose of the dating ban is to allow folks to get to know people before settling down. this could be several people they flirt with, or the one partner they chose. if you think you found your love on first sight, two weeks should give you enough time to get to know each other and see if you're as great of a match as you imagined it by first impression.
so it is very much okay to flirt with people and go on dates. it is very much okay to develop feelings, since those are not something you can control make wait by the sideline until the two weeks are over. it is okay to decide that you want to be loyal to someone.
but it is not okay to basically unofficially claim someone yours from day 1 without even getting to know each other. especially if it means you don't even ask them, since you cannot make it official anyways. that's the opposite of the spirit of the rule.
