Dearest members of the ton,

It is with great pleasure that this humble author reports that this season’s festivities is starting with a ball by our very own queen, Her Majesty Queen Min! I have my hands on the invitation and must I say, I can taste the excitement abuzz the city!

             

Set at the palace’s grand halls, it is meant to introduce our court to everyone attending. A little bird has told me that every family that has graced the city of Hanseong this summer has put forth one daughter and one son to be part of the Queen’s prized jewels this season! I, for one, cannot wait to see who shows up to be the center of attention this time!

Oh, dear readers! What joy it is to have such an event after such a long period of sorrows, sorrows, and prayers!

As usual tradition beholds it, there will be two dances and I truly cannot wait to see who is paired for these dances: sworn enemies, pining hearts, adoration at first sight, truly these pairs can come to fruition by the end of the season.

That being said, dances ought to be up to the court to decide how much they would like to dance. Who knows, maybe one more dance between a lady and a gentleman can blossom into something more… Perhaps we will see courtships that are very much unexpected; marrying above one’s station is an art form indeed.

Make sure you’ve read the invitation for more details for I have much urgent matters to attend to. What these matters are, rest assured they are only mine to know and yours to figure out.

ONE; This event is set to last from the 8th of June to the 28th of June. The date IC will be the night of June 8th, 1868 starting from 4PM. The setting is the palace and we’ve made a moodboard to help you visualise it better. Find it (here).

TWO; We will pair you all randomly to dance so that everyone gets a chance to make friends. Every member who is participating will be paired ONLY twice; the first set of pairing can be found in the comments of this announcement and the second pair will be released next week in the comments as well. it is up to you two as writers to discuss why your characters paired up to dance!

Remember that there are ONLY TWO slots on the dance cards and everyone should have BOTH slots filled. You may also dance with others but their names will not be on your card slots. If you are dancing more than twice, especially with other people, make sure you are sending us a DM with 1) name and 2) the reason as to why. We promise this information will be put to good use.

three; For details on dancing rules, please refer to the Etiquette handbook. If you have any questions, do let us know.

FOUR; This event is MANDATORY. We will use this opportunity as an additional activity check to make sure our members are using this space as we intended it, so make sure to post at least once in either of the event rooms.

FIVE; As a fun bit, we have opened votes on who is ‘Diamond of the Season’ and who is ‘Most Eligible Bachelor’. You may campaign OOC for it but make sure that there is reason behind your character’s vote since it WILL be IC. You can vote once per character. you can find the voting form here; know that the form will close on the 15th.

SIX; The next paper from Lady M will be released after the ball. As per the rules of our RP, it is mandatory for each mun to submit a piece of gossip before the 22nd of June.

- make sure it is something that has happened in public, within the premise of the palace. If it is outside of the palace, make sure you’ve described it as something being seen or heard.
- submissions do not have to be true; it has to only cause drama and raise suspicions.
- you may submit on the gossip padlet in the society room.
