so. my garage is completely ed. everything in it is ed. apparently there's mold everywhere and when i get back i can't even open the door to look because it's black mold. there's water damage on walls and ceilings and but the surge never made it up past the stilts (missed it by just under an inch phe w) so no damage to the floors or furniture thank god. the yard is pretty ed up too so that'll be fun to clean up.
i'm driving back tomorrow morning with my sister and apparenly a decent section of the highway is a ing lake?
we will have to literally go UP into another state and round to get back home. this is gonna be one longass drive.
even then, the flooding from the surge was so bad where i live that it's made international news????? people are kayaking everywhere because the water is so deep, it's insane. i got really....REALLY, lucky with this minimal damage. i live so damn close to the river that everyone was positive i wouldn't have a home to go back to. i'm still in a state of shock to be honest. i know for damn sure i'll cry when i walk into my house tomorrow.
