Being black on rpr

i'm not a fan of grammar

note: these stories are not mine, i give the people who submitted these stories or opinions a voice they want to project themselves in.

i have ran into too many people who are disrespectful to me on rpr once they find out i'm a black person

even in the ooc chatrooms i see things like "i doubt black people rp or some " or "they're too dumb to read"

i also felt uncomfortable seeing people say the n-word with their characters despite probably being black themselves

that's probably just my unpopular opinion but it's extremely uncomfortable and when it happens around other people, no one knows what to say or do

because they probably think ooc that person is black when it's not always the case.

even when i rp as black characters, people avoid me like the plague and especially in match-making rps

it's a difference i see when i'm not rping as your favorite kpop idol

i'm not saying you have to interact with my characters but when i say "hello" don't flee or say something cringy like "what up my fam"

a simple hello in response is kind enough

i'm also not saying to change your preferences when it comes to dating characters

but when you're paired with a black character, don't get lazy

i see it all the time and it's kind of sad when i see the lack of acceptance at times

note: i totally agree with this post, black characters and black people, in general, do not get enough love here on rpr and we all know racism exist here but don't be neutral when ignorance is being sprouted. your faves will not see you when you speak up for them but the person you can directly speak up for will.

Never seen the racism towards those personally, but I do notice that there are slowly internationals added in.
I think it’s because rpr is originally a branch from aff aka asianfanfics. They created it because people wanted to rp as their kpop idol.
So it’s semi understandable why a lot of people are reluctant to play with internationals.
I do agree that ignoring is just rude. But at the same time, rping requires a mood and I guess if you’re not attracted to the person/face claim basically, it is harder to find inspo or motivation.

And wildly unpopular opinion here. Please don’t lynch me. But I think some people do have a type. I’m not sure if it is internal racism or straight out racism, but it’s not only in rpr, irl even people say things like “I dont think I can date an asian person” or “I love black people as friends, but I don’t think I can ever date one.” or “blergh.. I can’t stand armenians they’re so rude.” or “white people are so privileged, dunno how I would survive if I date one.”
And I see it not only with race, but also with nationalities sometimes, like Chinese people saying that they won’t be able to date Koreans because they are high maintenance, have mommy issues, etc etc. Dont want to date Japanese people because they are too cutesy and cringy. Mexicans refusing to date Salvadorians etc etc.

As a black person I haven't really encountered any racism on rpr yet, which I'm glad about because that would totally ruin my rping experience, but it's still ed when non-black people just say the n-word like it's cool. And also, don't avoid rping with black characters???? What's so different about them except for the skin color???

I can relate to the rping as black characters- they get avoided like the ing plaque or just ignored and it's ing annoying like??? Say hello or some - but let them get ignored it's this that and the ing 3rd

I fail to understand why it would even matter rp wise and why tf anyone would make comments like that ic or ooc ( ya know, besides being a racist jackass.). What do you gain from being a ¿¿

As for the match making part, when it comes to those rps, you just need to be damn grateful you got paired half the time - idgaf who with. You joined, you got paired- don't be a stick.

how does that even come up? who just volunteers that information unless they want some type of attention from it?

I never knew about what happens in ooc chats, but I did notice quite a difference when internationals are played and who people gravitate toward.
