Park Kyungsoo never, ever, settles for less than he thinks she deserves. He is the product of a family of fantastical people, and they never let him forget it. Surgeons, engineers, politicians. The standard for Kyungsoo was set higher than he could ever aspire to reach before he was even born. Terrified of trying but failing, Kyungsoo worked himself into an early burnout before he reached high school. By then, he'd given up hope on being the prodigal son and instead focused on doing what he could do better than anyone else.
Those skills didn't earn him any long term companions but they saved his life in more ways than one. First and foremost, he was deceitful and unsettlingly talented at covering his tracks and misleading the naive. It made him a talented grifter but it was a skill that had to be honed over the years. In the meantime, getting his handed to him after being caught in a scam taught him how to take down guys twice his size. He's not the strongest and he can't hit the hardest but he's exceptionally skilled at pressure point fighting. He knows just where and how to hit to get the most effectiveness out of every swing.
When SHIELD fell and HYDRA was revealed to have been hiding under its coat tails, Kyungsoo was morbidly amused by how an organization that was supposedly standing on behalf freedom and liberty was full of people no better than himself. In addition to actual nazi followers. But when Director Jung rebuilt SHIELD Kyungsoo was the first to sign up. He still isn't sure whether or not he cares much for the morals they preach but it was the only place he could find that seemed to welcome someone with his credentials. He's still a fresh face of the field but he's already been dubbed, "Little Man".

As much as Kyungsoo complains about his childhood, how they were rasied and the people their family surrounded themselves with, truth is he made some pretty great memories as a kid. It was mostly thanks to B, Kyungsoo's partner in crime. Though he would never admit it, Kyungsoo would go to war for B anywhere, any time.

Not necesarily the first or the longest, but it was definitely most substantial relationship Kyungsoo ever had. In his panic about where this was potentially leading, Kyungsoo came up with every corny excuse in the book to drive B away. He's not necessairly sure if they bought it or saw right through his shenanigans but they said their goodbyes either way.

There isn't a person alive who doesn't remember their first love. Kyungsoo was just barely a teenager when he first laid eyes on B. B was a bit older than Kyungsoo but he didn't mind much. He followed B around shamelessly like a lovesick puppy and never failed to embarass himself trying to impress B. Though Kyungsoo was never sure B even noticed him, he certainly never forgot them.

They say people are oblivious when it comes to receiving a certain kind of attention. Kyungsoo was no exception but they'd have to be outright blind not to notice the way B grew flustered when Kyungsoo was around. He knows how it feels to be on the other side of the fence, to not be seen by the object of your affection, so maybe Kyungsoo pays B extra special attention. Sure, he may be being a bit misleading, but overall it must be harmless.

Kyungsoo doesn't pretend to have a higher moral standard than annyone, really. But even he considers himself a little more morally sound than actual an actual nazi supremacist group. While the two of you have yet to reveal yourselves as a SHIELD/HYDRA agent, just know that the moment he finds out where you stand, he is coming for blood.

A has been sheltered from the rest of the world all their life. Hidden safely behind the walls of the Inhumans' compound. But now that that's no longer a viable option, they have to make a way in the rest of the world. A feat their vastly unprepared for until Kyungsoo enters the scene. While he's usually the type to leave a person to sink, or swim, by their own means, something about A's situation pulled at his conscience too much to ignre. Now, he plays the role of baby sitter as he guides A by the hand through the trials and tribulations of the "outside".

In the year 2015, the world is a lot more open to the queer, the trans* and the non binary. But not open enough. It's no wonder Kyungsoo had such a hard time confessing to being queer, claiming to be whatever the job required and never giving more answer than that. But it doesn't help their secret that B treats him like a sibling and has zero respect for personal space. When B's playfulness, teasing and wandering hands leads to the discovery that Kyungsoo isn't all that they say they are the two have to reevaluate their friendship, set some boundaries, and maybe experiment a little just to cure the curiosity.

After A scarcely survives a near death experience ( illness or accident ), they decide to procede with a new taste for adventure in life. Everything from trying new foods to skydiving is on their to-do list. A's limitations and boundaries have seemingly disappeared. Kyungsoo, on the other hand, is the monotone voice of reason. Kyungsoo talks A out of some of the crazier schemes and when he can't seem to dull the enthusiasm in A's eyes, he tags along to keep their friend alive.

Kyungsoo and B were united by hardships and an understanding of each other that very few people not in similar situations can achieve. They were practically joined at the hip until Kyungsoo's SHIELD training took him somewhere very far out of B's reach. B begged him to stay, swearing that it would be impossible to do this alone even for a month or two. In return, Kyungsoo swore that B was being melodramtic. That B would be fine for the next six to eight weeks. He came home to find that by week three, B attempted suicide. The last line of B's letter read: "No one even cared enough to stay." Ever since, Kyungsoo has been trying to pick up the pieces of a broken trust and hold the two of them together until they can both stand on their own.

Kyungsoo is all but lost to the rest of the world and much too deep in their work. Missions that take them miles away and and manufactured personas that make it hard to tell whether he even remembers who he is, tend to strain non-professional relationships. But so far, B has been nothing but patient, understanding, and supportive. So when, Kyungsoo can't even make time for them it quickly turns into a personal objective to remind Kyungsoo that while jetsetting to save the world is nice, it's even better when you have something to come home to.

It's his job to be a liar. A is not the first to fall prey to his schemes but to find out that he played them for a fool to gather intel is more than they could take. Kyungsoo reminds A that they shouldn't take it personal but after a year of playing nice to gain their trust, even he feels a little guilty about the whole thing.
