Oh, how Joonmyun loved break with all his heart. Just the word made him feel all warm inside. If anything he probably loved it much more than his students did. Now, don't get him wrong. It wasn't like he necessarily hated his students, in fact, he treasure each and every one of them. However, there were a handful of them who liked to test his patience, trying to see how far they could push the math teacher, and truly going out of their way to make his life just a little harder every day. Joonmyun was a really patient man luckily, therefore he could usually ignore their antics. But even he had a limit, and his patience by this time was starting to run thin. He was trying so hard to keep his calm as he really didn't like yelling, but even he was getting dangerously close to raising his voice. The teacher was starting to get the urge to back hand slap some of his students and praise those who could sit at their desks quietly and listen to him. Sometimes he wished corporate punishment was still allowed. The teacher managed to make it through the year though, and now that break had come around he was more than thankful; after all, having his eye twitch obviously couldn't be good for him.

There was only one problem with break though. Joonmyun never really knew how to spend it. Sure, he was do the usual things like catch up on much needed sleep, treat himself out to walks around the city and more. But after so long, he started to get bored and ended up laying around the house or even cleaning it just to give himself something to do. Now, he would contact his fellow teachers and invite them out, but many of them were quite homophobic and knowing of his _____ity they avoided him at all costs which he didn't necessarily mind as he was used to it, and those that did accept him partied just a little too hard for his tastes - the idea of waking up in a random person's bath tub again just didn't sound savory to him, one time was more than enough - thus he was stuck with being all by himself most of the time. Him being by himself was never really a good idea because although he was a responsible person even he had brief moments of immaturity that led him to do weird things. The last time he had a break, he had ended up buying a bunny - he had also decided to name her carrot as his boredom was that real - , the same bunny that was most likely the closest thing he had to an actual friend.

This time though, Joonmyun wanted his break to be different. He didn't want to spend it lounging around, going out to cafes by himself, and taking his pet for walks around town. He wanted to actually get out and about, he wanted to hang with the few friends he actually had. He made a promise to himself during his last break that he would actually do what people were supposed to do during summer break - enjoy himself, and he was planning on doing just that with his friends. The first person Joonmyun thought of when he thought of close friend was the very person who had, more or less, helped him become the person he is today. The person who had been there for him whenever he thought that his life was just about over. The person Joonmyun felt like he still hadn't fully repaid for all his help and would never be able to.

Now that Joonmyun thought about it, he hadn't seen the other in a while, though they didn't exactly lose contact as the teacher still sent him gifts at least twice a month, gifts that came from the heart. But he hadn't actually gotten the chance to sit down with him in quite a while, and to be honest, Joonmyun quite missed the other's company. At one point in his life, he had seen Yixing's face every day, and now he hadn't seen his face in a few months. Things had definitely changed, and Joonmyun wanted them to go back to the way they had once been, if even for just a little while. It was then and there that he was going to go and see his friend, and if possible, stay for the entirety of his break. He had decided on all of this quite quickly, and before he knew it his things were packed and in the car, along with Carrot and her necessities. Indeed, whenever Joonmyun was bored, he tended to acted things out before he truly thought them through.

All of this led to him standing outside the other's door, a wrapped gift in hand - because Joonmyun never came empty handed - with his things out in the car. He sent a worried glance back towards his car, having left the ac on for his pet in fear that it would be too hot for her without it. He then turned his gaze back to the front door, taking a deep breath and running a hand through his blond locks, smoothing them out once more. He didn't even know if the other was home, and it was quite possible that he wasn't, after all, he could be off doing something in another time period for all Joonmyun knew. However, he still took the chance, reaching out and ringing the doorbell twice before taking a small step back, his eyes sparkling with hope for the best.
