Qytet City

The city is the capitol of Dwyrain and beautifully crafted high in one of the tallest mountains in the kingdom. Both the architecture and the culture are both based primarily on their strong devotion to the gods. Their technology is not as advanced as other kingdoms but supplemented by practical magic. You will find many shrines dedicated to the gods in Qytet and many mystical things in nature.

As Cao Lu made her way to the edge of Qytet City, she began to wonder how many girls she could trick into giving her money since her avatar was a boy-and in Cao Lu's eyes a very cute boy. Cao Lu also wished she could have a job here but that'd probably mean the start to capitalism and Cao Lu was already fed up with surviving it in real life. She also needed a guild of some sort and a friend circle so that they could all bash crab shells together as a group. It'd also make getting good easier and more gold meant the game was easier for Cao Lu and her poor legs. Once she reached the edge of the mountain she was at a set of stairs. Cao Lu didn't know they had stairs and immediately felt dumb for taking the hard route down to Moonlight Beach even though she rolled her way through there. Stairs were good and bad because it meant clear and easier access to the next area but it also meant she had to be careful and Cao Lu was a very impatient. But Cao Lu couldn't be bothered with those thoughts right now and began another trek down the mountain.

Cao Lu continued walking aimlessly to wherever, enjoying the scenery when she realized that she was actually walking aimlessly. She pulled up the map of Qytet City and planned a course to the Lake of Throndis. This was good. Because a lake meant fresh water and fresh water meant that she could clean the face of her avatar off and look nice and pretty again. This also meant more mobs to kill and more money to make which also meant she was one step closer to getting a wand and blowing stuff up and actually becoming a magician instead of a brute that bashes the heads of giant human-sized crabs. Cao Lu also needed the money for teleport crystals so she wouldn't have to be out of breath every time she wanted to return to Qytet. With all that in mind, Cao Lu headed north to the Lake of Throndis hoping that she would look presentable when she was done.

Speaking of cuacua innards, Cao Lu looked down at her robes and shoes and realized, yet again, that this was virtual reality and looked exists and so do blood stains. Cao Lu sighed and looked up at the sun which was blocked by one of the many holy statues dedicated to one of the Qytet's resident's God and sighed. Cao Lu began to wonder if they had dry cleaners or Oxyclean in this game because if this was as real as regular blood it would start to sit, and Cao Lu didn't like stains. She wanted to remain clean and fashionable. Dismissing thoughts of cleanliness, Cao Lu continued on her stroll around the city and passed by a fountain that was dedicated to some water goddess who's name she couldn't pronounce. Thoughts of cleanliness popped up again and Cao Lu took a detour to the fountain and looked into. As she expected, her face had some cuacua blood splattered onto it like an aspiring artist's paint canvas. Cao Lu was about to cup her hands for water to clean off the blood but realized this was built by a citizen of Qytet and was dedicated to a goddess, and she didn't want to anger either of them.

Before setting off into the inner workings of the city, Cao Lu put the hood of her robe on since the top of the mountain was pretty cold and she may have put it on so no one recognized her for her whole panting fiasco at her arrival to the city. Cao Lu began strolling through Qytet City, admiring all the shrines and statues dedicated to the God. Cao Lu wanted to run her fingers along a statue or step inside a shrine but she felt like she might upset the residents here for tainting their holy creations to their ever so lovely God. Cao Lu also passed by the shops for equipment and reminded herself she'd have to get a weapon soon so she wouldn't have to stomp onto any Cuacua innards.

Cao Lu placed her hands on her knees and crouched down while panting. Climbing down the mountain to head to Moonlight Beach wasn't that much of a Herculean task-even though she slipped on her trek down and proceeded to roll most of the way until a lone boulder stopped her body from going further. Climbing back up the mountain was a completely different task entirely. While she loved how beautiful the city looked she didn't like the scenic trek back up the mountain. Cao Lu continued panting while hoping that the weight she felt like she was losing in game would transfer over to real life. Then she realized she was in the city and was surrounded by watchful eyes and decided to proceed once more to the inner city before exploring the rest of the world.

Cao Lu saw the world around his build up before her eyes, she was already liking her race's starting city. She liked the religious focus on everything and being built on top of a mountain only added to beauty-too bad she couldn't look down into the land below because of the limited field of view. She looked down at his robes and stretched her arm out to see the sleeves dangle from his wrists. She grasped the hanging robe sleeved and d to feel the soft texture of it. She was surprised about how it felt beneath his fingertips, Cao Lu didn't expect for it to feel this realistic; it should've been expected since it is virtual reality. Cao Lu looked up from her gear after careful examination and looked at the surroundings of the city. She had no idea where to go or what to do, but she sure she felt like going into another field to defeat some monsters and level up. Exploring her starting city could wait until a little later.

Cao Lu pulled up the map display screen to see which areas were accessible and which she could actually go to without dying instantly. Cao Lu's options where between Moonlight Beach and Lake of Thorndis. Cao Lu liked the idea of being at the beach since she couldn't take trips there often in real life. Moonlight Beach was directly south of Qytet City so, by inductive reasoning, Cao Lu headed south to start her adventure.

Consistency, conventionality and rationality – all three were imperative to the effective conceptualization, organization, preparation and execution of any game. Kangjoon had more than a couple of suggestions for improvement – one being the implementation of a system to monitor and regulate the chats for inappropriate conduct and content – but resigned himself to silence until he could accomplish more than lament to those that shared in his frustration and confusion. Until he became accustomed to the controls, engaged in at least one combat encounter for the insubstantial and substantial experience, and secured enough gold to not forfeit his pride (though he might forfeit his rationality in the process, patience more prone to premature depletion or expiration than the time apportioned to gaming), Kangjoon was committed.

Fulfilling his pledge to depart for the Lake of Thorndis, he reduced his display and started on the expedition that was certain to test more than his aptitude for gaming.

He needed more than a moment to consult his conscience, affirm his sanity and ensure that his mentality had not been irreparably impaired from the injudicious application and distortion of such an innocent word. Unfortunately, recollection entailed reflection and Kangjoon would rather not ruminate on the misdemeanor at all, not even to comprehend the breadth and depth of his disgust.

An alternative to disapproval and the ultimate failure for it to manifest in more than a series of sent ellipses, he’d instead commit his time and capacity for cautious and sophisticated thought to other more important and pertinent concerns: the acquisition of gold. Gold: a topic entirely unrelated and irrelevant to whatever terms of endearment teenagers used to address one another in these unethical times. Gold: to be obtained through… close combat, he assumed. Such a concept was not foreign to him nor uncommon in RPGs, but a game proclaiming the inclusion of swords usually featured swords.

Switching the chatroom setting from PM to server, Kangjoon anticipated a coherent, legitimately indignant and righteously enraged discourse about the absurdity of deliberately excluding weapons and the insensibility necessary to make and commit to such a decision. Disregarding the ambition and desirous ignorance of actually apprehending coherence in an internet forum (“an impossible desire,” as appropriately abridged by Ahyoung, the characteristic concept of her casual thesis asserting the illiteracy of a majority of the gaming community), he had foreseen… the sight he desired to un-see. One sequence of messages had been enough to establish alarm, another to introduce the suspicions of revulsion and another to confirm that impression. But he couldn’t stop there – the entire catalogue of interchanged messaged intrigued him in its flagrant disregard for consequences, engrossing in the most abhorrent and horrifying of ways. He didn’t stop, couldn’t stop until the chat met its inception – that the intrepid first impulse the incitement that began it all – and Kangjoon retreated, consternation and concern commingling with disgust at the recollection of the atrocities that had transpired behind that innocent and unassuming sign.

He needed a moment to recover.

The unexplored existence of a server-wide chatting function provided a distraction to the dishonest contracts and compromises conducted before him, present in the shape of an essentially imperceptible bar. Faint and inconspicuous, it ran from the quarter to quarter across the upper edge of his vision, eclipsing about a half of his vision’s width but comprising little more than three percent in comparison to the height. It announced the continual communication of messages, transitioning from the default emblem to the motif of an envelope in timed precision and flourish. His curiosity about the consensus on the absence of weapons had not diminished in intensity since his communication to his counterparts. Since his recognition of admission (and perhaps even nonchalance?) on the expressions of those around him and the incongruity of astonishment on his own, Kangjoon couldn’t ignore the odd phenomenon no longer. He had to know of the accord or disaccord on the exclusion of starter weapons; he had to confirm that it was an actual contentious issue and not some fictitious product of conceit. He couldn’t be alone in his position.

Dhana Zamina had assumed a more simplistic approach: instituting a limit of six per party while permitting the configuration and coordination of a more formidable amount of people through the allocation of each through the appointment to a designated squadron. In those situations, the whole was more than the summation of its parts – precise, inerrant and perfect if under correct and competent supervision; chaotic, pernicious and confining if not. Kangjoon had seen enough and been in enough situations – both recreational and their realistic counterparts – to condemn them, finding their inclination for the dissemination of misinformation, specious manipulation and subsequent subjection too prominent for his preferences. Reminiscent of the cliques he had once been a participant of, the arising parties elicited some measure of pain and pity from him – contrite in the observation of unconscious commitment but too impartial to consider an intervention.

Comprehending of the content of the successful dispatch notification prior to its appearance in his vision, he terminated the screen and assessed the selection of options presented to him. Nothing prohibited nor inhibited his immediate departure for the aforementioned location but a predilection for caution refrained him from action, instead abiding and considering continued observation the accession and egression of people from the square. Some possessed a more potent concept of purpose than others – those constituting the group that more audacious of others approached and proposed either questions or the formation of a group, signaling the beginnings of assemblies and the loose institution and partition of people in factions. Clans, cliques, guilds, sects, tribes of societies – whatever the name, their presence and rapid ascendance proliferated the genre of MMORPGs, comprising a portion of their appeal and a notable fault in the objection to the genre.

"Welcome to DHANA ZAMIRA illionare"

Bobby blinks and looks around. He looks at his own character up and down. The surrounding is kind of new to him. He doesnt even know why he chose to play this game rather than doing his works. He takes his bow and streches his arms to points his bow somewhere to get the hold of it and can get used to it. It's not his first time playing a game like this so he knows what to do. But this game surely has a nice place set. He puts down his arms and looks at his equipments. It looks different than the other players but he makes sure that he will be like one of them too.

All of 0's are stated on his profile and he clicks his tongue in annoyance because of that. He has a lot of things to do to change this state of his and starts to be a good player here. "Time to get used to this and look around first" he says to himself and starts to move his character while looking around. Firstly he needs to level up and finds a lot of golds to save but he decides to look around first and then does the level up later.

“Send message to illumination and royal–” Trusting neither his pronunciation of her username nor the transcription software, Kangjoon settled for spelling it out to ensure that the message was delivered to the intended recipient. “R-o-y-a-l-i-o-n.” A text box arose in the center of his vision, enumerating the correct recipients and consolidating the same message into separate chats.

“Begin message. No weapon, no gold,” Stated as a fact rather than the complaint it concealed, he assumed the both of them shared in his predicament – the same predicament the entire server endured but abided in enthusiastic compliance and jubilant indifference. “Going to learn limits of class. Heading to Lake of Thorndis to…” Incapable of restraining his indignation as a game designer and possessor common sense any longer, he couldn’t refrain from adding: “… to die, probably. And hopefully earn some gold. End message.” The five percent inaccuracy in transcription did not pertain to this message as an accurate translation of his comment was contained in the boxes before him.

Having nothing else to contribute not change and intending to stay true to his statement (preferably precluding the death part) as delineated in his PM, Kangjoon concluded: “Send.”

He resigned to contacting the people constituting that promised collaboration, formulating his message prior to his verbal communication of it. In light of his most recent realization, the distance separating the three of them was all the more disheartening in its range and permission of peril. The likelihood of a lethal encounter or dangerous confrontation, especially in succession, was too high for any of them – particularly him and Ahyoung, with his restricted offensive abilities and her reduced defensive capacities – to attempt traversing the land with the intent of reaching another capital. Although more conceivable through the incorporation of weaponry, their current amount of aggregated gold necessitated fights apart until one of them accumulated enough money to purchase a weapon and the second person to the third. Kangjoon was that anticipated third – or second, considering the geographic location of Dwyrain between Ipar and Notia – and he decided to communicate as much.

Although there was the possibility of his lamentation being mere exaggeration and the product of petulant resentment, Kangjoon disregarded the consideration of such accusations and regarded his position on the issue as justified. However, justification and the perception of righteousness did not aid him in his present plight – the fact that he hadn’t a staff, meaning he couldn’t heal himself or others, and sported the unfortunate combination of the Dwyrain race and the priest class. This amounted to a double reduction in offense without the application of his restoration and augmentation spells for compensation. He couldn’t assert himself as an effectual priest nor could he promote himself as a competent combatant, being neither. One solution was the reliance on the charity and sympathy of others – an act of resignation that contradicted his username and the morals of his it represented – or to vouch commitment to the group that accommodated him in the form of a debt – a less humiliating position but bearing the implication of an obligation. Neither were tolerable alternatives, nor possible in their contention against his original collaboration.

[ 7/9 ]
C웃✞ misanthrope 8 years ago
Kangjoon seriously questioned the rationale behind such a decision and the justification of its actual implementation beyond a confession to their either intentional oversight (for entertainment, with an amendment in the form of a patch) or unintentional error (for the necessity of some measure of inanity). But as much as he and most all other veteran RPG gamers would be favorably disposed to the ordeal being some injudiciously and inappropriately prolonged joke, it didn’t look like it was or would be. Players had been departing for greater reasons than mere greed or fascinated enchantment. They had been departing because it was the only thing to do. With neither an introductory weapon (courtesy of common sense) nor the money to purchase a weapon, one must instead commence their journey through arduous accumulation of gold, paid for in tears and continual trips to the capital.

Contentiously, Kangjoon shouldn’t have a weapon. Rather, he should have an ornamental object for the purposes of conducting the regeneration and amplification spells that distinguished him as a priest. Yet, whether a staff was considered more of a weapon or more of an ornament, one was not in his possession.

Once again opening the inactive window, he reaffirmed his supposition: there wasn’t a staff accommodating the inclusion of the N-grade robes and shoes, just the assortment of consumable items that seemed almost derisive in their replacement of a fundamental aspect. The thought itself confounded him and he had been inclined to dismiss the absence of a starter weapon as an error or a glitch – a concept much more tolerable and forgivable than the conscious exclusion of an aspect as compulsory and precursory as a weapon – until he noticed the deliberate absence of weapons on everyone’s person. The creators had been serious.

Kangjoon inspected the list again, appreciating in greater breadth the inclusion of the ether for the INT-based classes, and failed to discern a reason. Everything appeared in order, even the extraneous v-potion that he’d present to Ahyoung as compensation for the Notians’ inherently inhibited defensive capabilities, and yet… something felt… off. He couldn’t describe the irritation, couldn’t even ascertain the cause, but it frustrated him and he wouldn’t relent in his investigation until he found out why. He spent the next thirty seconds staring at the items comprising his inventory, the next four going through the trouble of reopening the window once it had closed from continued inactivity, twenty in using the screen as human repellant to surreptitiously and ultimately suspiciously monitor the expressions and conversations of those surrounding him and at least another forty five relinquishing enough resentment of human interaction to entertain the idea of approaching one of them when it occurred to him: a weapon. He had no weapon.

[ 4/9 ]
C웃✞ misanthrope 8 years ago
Kangjoon motioned for the notifications to close and refrained from acting on the spontaneous intensification of his affection for them – an affection that occupied his consciousness in a persisting presence, set aside as the situation required for postponed recollection and action. His current situation necessitated his attention and in a reluctant gesture, Kangjoon transferred his attention from his significant others to the platform intended to be their most recent gaming endeavor. If he intended to meet them, then he must concentrate on the incomplete duties pending ahead of him.

Commencing the first of numerous prefatory responsibilities, Kangjoon opened his inventory and cataloged the items there: an N-grade priest robes and a complimentary pair of N-grade shoes, a general teleportation stone, five potions, one ether and one v-potion. Something encountered him as… unusual.

On the other, “illumination” – still such a nonsensical and uncharacteristic choice in consideration of the person behind it (the same person that required assistance in donning the equipment in the first place; first uncertain as to whether or not clothes were to be worn underneath the suit and then incapable of fitting his feet and legs into the bottom portion) – flashed as brilliant and radiant as the smile it had been named after, the same smile that had been the last image before the enclosure of his vision and the envelopment and replacement of his senses as the gear responded to the completion of the preparatory procedure. The last sensation that Kangjoon can recall prior to complete immersion had been the feeling of fingertips against his chin, tender despite their proportion and the proportions of the person they belonged to, preoccupied in the placement of the helmet around his head and adjustment of its dimensions for him.

The extent to which his girlfriend had gone in coordinating their usernames, their appearances and, after accounting for the inclinations of her romantic companions, their races and classes astounded him in the most admirable of impressions, reminding him not to question her decisions on behalf of nor commitment to their relationship. Among the three of them, Ahyoung was easily and definitively the person consistently under the most pressure to perform and stress to meet her commitments, straining herself to simply maintain an attainable and admissible appraisal in all her activities. She shouldn’t have the time nor the mental capacity to be there beside him, hand against his in their position on the floor in their shared bedroom, or here in this digital reality but there her username was. Comprising one of the name insertions identified in the text, “royalion” shone forth regal, glistening and a premonition of the domination to come through one of the two notifications informing him that the requests had been sent.

It looked more ludicrous and obscurely psychotic in action than it had in imagination and Kangjoon wondered if there really wasn’t an alternative to speech-to-text translation and transcription, or if the creators found entertainment in the sight of players seemingly conversing with themselves. He couldn’t hold against them for either reason, unable to conceive a surrogate solution nor suppress his amusement – for it was something of a spectacle. But involvement was unavoidable and he refrained from further indication of his mirth, engaging in his own aside conversation. Fulfilling his earlier pledge, he enunciated: “Send friend request to r-o-y-a-l-i-o-n.” Not one to neglect nor forget, he said immediately thereafter: “Send friend request to i-l-l-u-m-i-n-a-t-i-o-n.” It still astonished him – and was no less of an accomplishment – that Ahyoung had managed to discourage Chanyeol from choosing a Rilakkuma-based username and coerce him into one of more coherence and reason. He guessed that there had been more than mere praise lavished upon him on Ahyoung’s behalf, but, at least in Chanyeol’s case, praise could honestly get you anywhere.

At the present moment, it appeared almost everyone shared the same level: Novice, the preliminary rank and the lowest of the seven ranks that constituted the attainable tiers in the game, indicated by the N hovering next to the username above everyone’s head. Some aimed to amend that immediately, departing either alone or in a systematized party; others chose to remain in the confines of the city, safe as an area that sheltered no enemies nor permitted no combat but unprofitable to those that had neither the gold nor the position to make use of the services available there.

Kangjoon, where and how he now was, could be categorized as a member of the latter designation of people. With neither money, authority nor a party to his (user)name (misanthrope: an appropriate portrayal of his position on a considerable amount of the human population), he shared in the same indefinite ambition of those that loitered around the square, murmuring to themselves in the mildly manic indication of their participation in one of the three forms of chats.
C웃✞ misanthrope 8 years ago
In this regard, Kangjoon did not consider himself inherently better than the people he noticed and reduced to their most conspicuous of characteristics in passing, connected to his perception through the gear that connected him to theirs. But there remained one domain in which he remained superior – one area of aptitude that contributed to his composure in the face of the absolute disorder that ran rampant through the progressively more populated streets. Knowledge of the fundamental structure of conventional RPGs and the actions one must take in attaining the assortment of items, weapons and reputation that would differentiate the novices from the veterans. It required initiative and initiative he had, further augmented through the promise of his two sworn allies that shared in his desire.
