Butterfly Sprite - Kyungsoo x Yuta

tinkle tinkle~

@Channie "I have my fur to keep me warm. I think you'll give the scarf more use than I will." Yuta reassured, the wolf nosing at the soft fabric until it loosened enough for him to form a cradle of sorts. "Go ahead, climb in it. I want you to be warm and as comfortable as I can get you. Please? Or Icould bundle it up in front of me instead if you'd rather that?" The wolf continued, moving his tail slightly away from the entrance to allow oxygen into the space he had dug.

There was only a few more miles of this snowy landscape left, Yuta remembered. It always felt longer since trekking through deep snow tended to take longer than walking through regular terrain. He'd decided, after warming up as much as possible, he'd make that last stretch through the snow as quickly, and safely, as he could.

@Tre Kyungsoo had to mate this year he'd decided. Butterfly sprites were not the types to mate for life and settle down, but he still wanted to pass a part of himself on. He wanted their to be more butterfly sprites who were a part of him. This would be his last chance he figured, on his own he wouldn't be able to make it this far let alone to the grove. He's freeze before he for halfway to here.... But even then, he didn't know if he could mate without wings either.

"No. Your scarf is keeping your neck warm, don't be cold like me..." Kyungsoo muttered, still chewing idly on some pollen.

@Channie Yuta fidgeted a little, sad at the truth in the other's words. He would like to help the sprite longer than a year, but he didn't know if an extension was possible. Were they going to assign another to him or.. He decided not to think too much about it, paws moving slightly. "No, not really. My fur keeps me warm. I mean, I feel it's cold outside, but it doesn't affect me as much as it does to you. Do you want me to unwrap my scarf for you? It'll be warmer than my ears." He asked, worried about Kyungsoo. He didn't want him to be too cold, even if the tunnel was a bit warmer than outside.

@Tre "No one can fix my wings, and you're only here for this year though, that's what the nurse said." Kyungsoo whined, fishing himself out some nectar before clambering back out the bag again. It was disappointing really, he supposed this would be his last migration... He didn't know what he was going to do after that, probably freeze in the winter. "I don't know, I always eat out of living flowers.." He mumbled, thinking for a moment before chewing on some pollen, lightly resting on the other's head. "Does the snow make you cold Yuta."

@Channie Yuta watched Kyungsoo carefully, his tail brushing up and over the entrance to block off some of the cold air filtering in. "I'm sorry. Whilst I can't repair your wing, I'll be sure to get you to where you need to be safely." Yuta muttered, his ears flicking. "Ah, yes, pretty much. Carrying flowers, and enough, would have taken up more space than just extracting some nectar. Plus, there's no telling if the flowers would have survived after being cut and exposed to the different weather conditions.." He informed, shuffling his paws a little to rest his chin atop of them

@Tre Clutching at Yuta's ear to keep him steady as the wolf began to dig. Kyungsoo frowned. Enclosed spaces. Something he wasn't nearly used to... He didn't make a sound though cause he was going to get used to it.

Wings meant, flying. No wings meant hiding and he supposed he better get used to it if he didn't want to be prey.
"Nectar extract.... So you like took the food out the flower and kept it? That's different..." Still shivering a bit, Kyungsoo crept out from under the others ear, chiming over to the pack before heaving his way up and inside.
"I hate not being able to fly." He grumbled, rummaging around.

@Channie The wolf immediately stopped, the snow below and falling from above becoming too much for his passenger. He immediately set to scooping snow away in a ditch, moving in a fashion as to not disturb Kyungsoo so much. A tunnel was fashioned and Yuta crawled in, a space widening enough at the end for him to curl up. "I couldn't pack flowers, but I got some nectar extracted. Will that suffice? You can come out, it'll be a bit warmer now inside. I'll keep you warm.. Warm and safe." He whispered, nosing at the pack tied to his side to lift the flap in order to gain access the the nectar. "There it is, if you want it."

@Tre "Yeah... I'm c-cold.." Kyungsoo muttered, cuddling straight back down into the others fur once he'd had peer around. How long was this snow going to last? The whole point of his migration was to avoid situations like this, his body couldn't handle them.. At least he didn't have to worry about getting his wings wet -- they didn't work in the first place. "Mm.. there hasn't been a flower in forever..." Just white, and Kyungsoo was beginning to hate that colour.

@Channie Yuta trudged through the thick snow, the pads of his paws making the trek slightly less harrowing for him. But they had been in this snowy region for a while, Yuta foregoing running through like a sled dog due to worry of losing Kyungsoo somewhere along the way. "It shouldn't be much further.. Are you cold? You can tuck yourself in the scarf around my neck if you are." He asked, worried about the sprite. It was no doubt the cold would get to him, the butterfly lacking a protective layer against it. Then he thought about how long they had been traveling. "There should be some liquid nectar in my pack. Do you want some of it? I could bundle around you so you could be warm while you eat."

"Yuta...." Kyungsoo whimpered, curled up lightly in between Yuta's ears. They'd been in some foreign snowy region for what seemed like forever now, and Kyungsoo was hungry and freezing. There were no flowers, and he was really starting to worry from where he was curled up on the other's fur. With a few delicate tinkles he sat up, occasionally still chiming like a bell when he shivered too violently. "How far does the s-snow go..."
