since this is a boys-only place, everyone is considered male and there are three different genders to differ from.
alphas. alphas are the wolves who go through ruts and give seed. they are most likely to lead a pack.
betas. betas can experience either a heat or a rut (state in application on "additional" section), however they will have to roll the dice to see whether their heat/rut kicks in or not.
omegas. OMEGAS ARE THOSE WHO ARE ABLE TO GIVE BIRTH, an omega does not necessarily have to be a lower ranked member depending on the pack's individual view.

the positions that will be shown by a sign that's added to your name will be your character's gender, (shown by a small a, b or o); the state of your cycle (➴), a leader position in front of the alpha's name (⋆) as well as 2nd in commands (◦). strays will not get another name displayed while pack members will find their pack's name next to their names.

How to form packs.
you will be able to form packs on your own, and packs will not be limited. just know that a pack falls apart when there are less than 4 members in it - in that case, the members can either join other packs or live as strays. usually, an alpha also is the leader of the pack. however in case a pack consists only of betas and omegas, a beta or an omega might as well take the lead. as soon as an alpha joins the pack, they will have to obey, though.
once an alpha finds 4 other wolves who join his pack and he has a potential second in command (any gender), a pack will be considered active. in the pack list, you will see what packs are active and which ones do not exist temporarily or died out (due to people leaving, inactivity, plus, plus, plus).
