Thank you for attending this with me, Mr. Romero,
/It’s a lovely night for a charity gala for some organisation that I don’t particularly care to know about it but I’ve found that the evening has soured slightly as I walk down the hallway with Havier Romero, an elderly man who is arguably one of the richest in America and a dear friend of my mothers. It seems that even the upper class can’t hide their nose turning, and despite first impressions, don’t realise that I am the invited whereas Romero is my guest. Coupled with the fact that my gown is borderline inappropriate given the slits that show off my legs, it’s not surprising that wherever I turn, I see either looks of disgust(easily ignored), curiosity or amusement./
/I find I don’t really care anymore, it’s part of the fun and besides, I’m clearly the hottest thing in this place, something that my guest is quite happy to tell me as we wander into the banquet hall; a lavishly decorated affair that, honestly, looks kind of tacky but I can’t say anything./
/I turn to my guest and squeeze his hands, nodding my head in the direction of a group of men that I know Romero is friendly with. I’m not one to socialise and, unfortunately, Romero is a chatter./

/I press a light, sticky kiss to my guests cheek with a small smile; I have a weakness for kind old men, especially those who ended up taking more of a father figure role in my life. As he shuffles off with a wave, I purse my lips to scan the room, finding nothing of interest aside from a clearly well stocked bar for pre-dinner drinks— as if the guests hadn’t already guzzled enough champagne already./
/As I make my way over, ignoring any attempts to conversation from those who consider me worth talking to, which I obviously am but not for these bores, I notice a familiar figure from earlier that had not been entirely subtle in what I assume was judgment over my choice of evening attire. /
/Yet, despite my disdain for events like these, I’m fully aware that situations like these call for decorum even if I’ve been seated next to somebody that I wouldn’t necessarily give the time of day to. Still, you’re incredibly attractive which is a bonus on your part for keeping my interest somewhat peaked but still, such a shame that it’s always the hot ones who can’t seem to grasp the fact that sometimes men wear dresses./
/After I’ve ordered a glass of cabernet sauvignon, I turn to make my way over you, sipping at my wine. Just because society calls for decorum, doesn’t mean I’m not going to chew you out for looking at what’s clearly too good for you/
I noticed you earlier in the hall.. Hasn’t anyone ever told you it’s rude to stare?

It was just past 9:00 pm when Taehyung finally sauntered through the doors of the Empire, looking as every bit as effortless and fabulous as his instagram post from earlier that day. And, of course, what was an entrance without a faux fur coat that turned heads either in jealousy(from the women) or the subtly interested(you’d be surprised how many closeted men the Upper East Side had).

The bar was alive with people but, just as he liked, it wasn’t so busy that you had to wait to order a drink so with a snap of his fingers, Taehyung had a martini and two glasses of whiskey slid across the counter from his favourite bartender.

“Thank you, darling” He thanked before swallowing down the two whiskeys in a single shot.

He hummed at the taste, picking up his martini to sip at the dry gin. He swivelled on his seat to scan the low-lit room, searching for a familiar pair of buff arms— oh, there he was.

Christian sat there looking remarkably lost and annoyed; something that had Taehyung giggling to himself as he walked over, adjusting his leopard printed coat to bunch around his elbows to show off his collarbones and shoulders. Nothing sparked jealousy from a scorned partner like seeing the marks from another man.

And despite the relatively warm reaction he’d gotten when kissing Christian, he was surprised to hear such familiar venom in his voice. He quirked an eyebrow as he slid into the bench across from Christian, clicking his tongue with a shake of his head.

“Are you high or something?” He asked, somewhat rudely, scoffing as he rolled his eyes.

“Whatever, I don’t give a . You’re here, that’s all that matters”

Ok, deep breath. Just bit the bullet and get it over and done with.

“We should.. Talk about what happened today.” Taehyung started, albeit awkwardly as he swirled his olive in his drink. “Whatever you think you saw, it was wrong and there’s nothing to be concerned about.”

“And also I don’t hate you.” Taehyung blurted out suddenly, staring holes into the martini in front of him. His gaze flickered up to meet Christians, the tips of his ears turning red. God, this was embarrassing. “You said— You said earlier today that we hate each other but I’ve never hated you. When we first met, you were cold and usually I wouldn’t care but.. This time I did, for whatever reason, at least until I overheard you calling me too skinny. And that’s putting it nicely.”

Taehyung grabbed at his glass and downed the rest of the drink, his lips clean of any left over alcohol because, , he was totally embarrassing himself and he desperately needed all of the liquor he could get his hands on.
