@● ᶜᵃˢᵉ ⁸⁸ kāi The wind was ripping through the sky like a blade, the clouds whipped across a gray canvas of dark promises, as Lay pushed out the door of his building, his long black coat nearly ripped off his slender shoulders, billowing out behind him like a pair of dark wings. A crow of death, striding down a frozen path, as he flipped his collar up to protect his throat from the biting cold. It wasn't as if he was able to feel it - the touch of cold that felt as if it could freeze blood in pumping veins, so cold it frosted the windows of his apartment in an ever present sheen of crystal sugar. Was he even able to remember anything other than the sweltering heat of a summer, the bitter cold of the winters, now that the world had sunken into the darkness of the Red Force? Had he ever known something other than this?

He shook his head surly, his dark eyes narrowing at his own thoughts, his feet bringing him steadily closer to the waiting car, two soldiers framing the already open back door. Open like the waiting mouth of a wolf, ready to swallow him. He'd insisted to drive himself to the wall, craving the rush of adrenaline through his veins as he sped through the streets at break-neck speed - to feel anything, taste the panic in the back of his throat like the ghost of a once human life that seemed to echo through his soul. Remnants of his true self, he sometimes guessed. As if the original version of his DNA was reaching through the fog of separation and all the way into his body to squeeze his fabricated heart right beneath his ribs. And yet, while he knew he should feel the cold, should feel the frost nipping at his skin, he felt nothing. The irony, he snorted while sliding into the backseat of the car, nodding to the soldiers to close the door for him.

Kai would already be waiting for him at the wall, he noted with a glance down at the watch clinging to his wrist. And he would be cold, as would be the entourage that always trailed after them. As if they weren't able to protect themselves. As if they weren't the one the world should be protected from.

He clicked his tongue in annoyance as the car swerved around a corner, the street frozen over and reflecting the buildings around them. But they knew he hated being late and late he was indeed. Time had become a strange concept to him, what with the months passing by without his body changing, without the hollow in his chest where sensation should reside feeling empty and remaining that way, no matter how many times the sun was rising. He didn't even wait for the car to stop completely, leaving behind his guards while he slipped out of the car easily, not bothering to close the door and smirking at their panicked calls of his name.

With two steps at a time, Lay made his way up the side of the wall, already spotting the other clone waiting for him, surrounded by grumpy, shivering soldiers, their shoulders pulled up towards their necks in a futile try to fend off the cold. What an odd image he must be for them, clad in nothing but a black coat, having left behind any thicker garments or scarfs.
"Kai.", he greeted his fellow immortal with a lazy flick of his wrist, voice bored and yet rather apologetic, the only acknowledgement the other would get of Lay being tardy. He stepped close, their shoulders almost bumping as Lay turned towards the far horizon, gazing out across the outer rings of the city. "What made you feel the need to call me out into the freezing cold up here? Is there an issue?"
He shot a look over to the shivering soldiers, making a shooting motions with a gloved hand, the leather encasing his fingers creaking from how stiff it had gotten with the cold. "Scatter. Master Kai and I have things to discuss that are none of your business."

Pausing, he waited for the men to leave, groaning in relief as they trudged down the stairs where his own men were waiting. They knew he hated company, preferred to be on his own. More efficient, less crowded.
"Now.", he announced, clapping his hands once. "Spill the beans, Kai. Are /they/ causing trouble?"

@● ᶜᵃˢᵉ ¹⁰ lāy The sky had been dark for the past few days, clouded over and gray ever since the air started biting at his skin, getting colder. Kai wasn't very fond of the cold, but he pursued through it anyways. Being an immortal being, a vampire with cold blood, it wasn't the cold that bothered him. It was the cold that bothered everything else, that's what bothered him. The ground got slippery with ice or doors would be frozen shut. Ever since the fall of the Earth from the Red Force, the climate had decided to get incomparably cold in the winter and stifling hot in the summer. Many had suspected with this evil taking over that the world would be burnt to a crisp. Instead, the world remained more or less the same. If you were a plant or an animal, life wasn't so bad.

Kai didn't know what was outside the walls of Elyxion, no one was brave enough to look. The clones were told to stay within the inner circle or along the walls. They didn't obey those rules, of course, blood sacks were only fun for a little while. Hunting was much more fun; thus, the vampires disobeyed such rules.

"Master Kai," Said one of the soldiers that were keeping a lookout on the walls. "How long will you be waiting for Master Lay?"

"I'm not sure," Kai answered, turning his head to the soldier. A human who sold his soul to the Red Force to save his own hide. Most of the human workers were just that, able to live in large dorms of buildings, safe from the blood-thirsty vampires and the even more quenched gangs that lurked the Outer Ring. "We will wait for him until he comes."

The soldier didn't seem to happy with that answer, obviously freezing even in his layers of armour and weaponry. Kai remained still as he waited for Lay to join him atop the wall, he didn't remember the exact time he asked the other clone to meet him, but time will tell, and Kai had the capacity within him to wait as long as he wanted.

[] i hope this works lol
