hot springs

/i can hear the voices very well, its not like they're being all that stealthy while lingering in the hot springs, but i doubt they expected to find anyone here
/especially not me, i've learned to be quiet in all my years, its easier to stay hidden in the shadows, to speak when spoken to, things of that nature
/and even now, i dont say i word, instead bending the water from the hot springs itself and lifting it up dumping the water over the small group of men
/there's a little sizzle, a telltale sign that i was right in guessing it was fire benders, of course they're still out there trying to ruin the world that's been built from the ground up again
"hey, who are--"
/the man hardly has a moment to speak before i shoot a ball of water into his mouth, causing him to choke for a second while the water rushes his sinuses, even spilling a little out of his nose from the force
/unaware that what im doing is protecting you, someone i dont even know, i simply stand still where i am, quiet and just waiting for the next move while the man chokes and sputters while spitting out the water
/their cover is blown, so they know they need to act, and while one of the men comes for me the other turns to make a beeline for you, their original target
/i have no idea who you are, or why they wanted /you/ of all people, but i wont let the seemingly innocent get harmed, and so i move quickly
/much like the element i bend, i move smoothly and quickly, evading the man who came for me without missing a beat, skirting around him and managing to stick my foot out to trip him at the last second, sending him into one of the small rock pools
/and in no time, im following after the other attacker, using the last bit of water readily available to me to shoot it at his back, causing him to stumble forward
/all at once the three men turn to me, the two i had left behind now up and ready for a fight, flames greeting their fingertips as they figure to eliminate me first, i proved to be something they didnt expect in their equation
/my instincts take over now, and despite the pain it brings me to do such a thing, im no longer just bending water, a certain darkness taking over me in the moment
/one by one the men begin to crumple a little as i stand in the middle of them, their circle soon falling to a clump on the ground because of me, im bending /them/ specifically, using their own blood against them
/they cry out in pain, but with my bending there's nothing else they can do, they're all left laying on the ground, incapacitated while i slowly lift my head
/you're there, standing and staring, my hands raised and my eyes dark until they soften upon the sight of you, regaining the light that seems to fit me more, and all this time i dont say a single word, instead just holding your gaze from where i stand
