@kim taehyung∘ ᵒʷⁿᵉʳ Again, the husky hesitated for a few precious moment. He knew, deep down inside of him, the hollow sadness in his chest told him that they would not be coming home. He was too difficult, too high maintenance. They wouldn’t have abandoned him unless they’d had to, would they? He nodded. “Okay then.. just until they come to get me,” He agreed, taking the clothes with a grateful smile. “Thank you, I’ll be back soon,” He responded, clothes bundled in his arms as he headed to the room he was being given. Taehyung was generous, and Feiyu didn’t want to push his luck by spending too much time looking around. Within a half hour he was gently nudging the human’s side, looking considerably refreshed, clean, and more friendly than before. “So, a tour?”

@chen feiyu∘ ʰᵘˢᵏʸ Taehyung knew the husky’s owners wouldn’t return, but he wasn’t going to say that out loud, “you can stay until they return, does that sound good?” he spoke softly as he looked at the hybrid, “you can leave at anytime you’d like, this isn’t a prison.” he reassured before grabbing an outfit for the husky to change into, handing him the said clothes, “your room is on the third floor and there’s a bathroom inside as well. if you need me, there’s a green button on the wall.” he smiled at the hybrid, “I’ll give you a little tour once you’re finished.”

@kim taehyung∘ ᵒʷⁿᵉʳ Being called darling by a stranger set off a red flag for the husky and he paused, looking doubtful once again. “I really will only stay for a couple of days then,” He insisted, though he didn’t know that the days would into weeks, months and eventually years. “I can take care of myself, thank you.” He blinked at the offer though, looking down at himself. “…I guess I could do with one, thank you,” He admitted after a long moment. “Only two weeks. My owners were going to come back. They told me that they would.”

@chen feiyu∘ ʰᵘˢᵏʸ “that’s quite alright, darling. you can stay as long as you want. but every hybrid here as said the same thing but has ended up here for years.” taehyung shrugged, “it’s my job to take care of all of you.” he offered a soft smile as he walked inside and placed the groceries on the counter as another hybrid came to put them away. he then looked at the husky again, “would you like a shower? i have some spare clothes you can wear.” he whispered softly, walking back to the new hybrid, “how long have you been on your own?”

@kim taehyung∘ ᵒʷⁿᵉʳ It was only when the male came to take his hand that the hybrid drew back again, refusing to move until he’d finished the sandwich. “I know, I don’t mind though. I’ll find somewhere to shelter,” He began carefully, his brows furrowing. It took a long time for him to finally decide to follow, shrugging his hand away from Taehyung to follow of his own accord. “I’ll just stay here for a few days. I don’t need any longer than that. I’ll find something to do and get out your hair.”

@chen feiyu∘ ʰᵘˢᵏʸ he was relaxed to see the other calm down and eat what was offered to him, “yes, I have other hybrids. if you got away with my groceries, they wouldn’t have anything to eat for dinner except for salad.” Taehyung shrugged before glancing back up at the sky as he heard it thunder, “it’s gonna storm soon.. come with me.” he spoke softly, his free hand reaching out for the husky’s before leading him down the street and into the gates of the sanctuary. “I can tell you have no where else to go, so you can stay here, you’ll be safer here rather than on the streets.”

@kim taehyung∘ ᵒʷⁿᵉʳ It took all of his self control to prevent his ears from flicking up atop his head at the words. He watched every move from the human. Was he really not going to shout? Not be angry at all? He was confused - he’d just tried to steal his day’s shopping. Cautiously, he reached out to take the sandwich and unwrap it. “Thank you,” He added quickly before he began eating. “You have other hybrids?”

@chen feiyu∘ ʰᵘˢᵏʸ Taehyung stared at the other, he knew what signs to look for when a hybrid was lying, he had been taking care of them for years as well as his parents before they passed. “no you didn’t.” he shook his head, noticing the lack of eye contact and the nervous tone in his voice, “you’re hungry, hm?” he grew calm as he dug through his groceries and pulled out a wrapped steak sandwich, holding it out to the hybrid with a soft smile, “I’m not gonna hurt you, you can have it. but I need the rest of this to feed my other hybrids.” he whispered, as if it was a little secret between them two.

@kim taehyung∘ ᵒʷⁿᵉʳ Feiyu moved as fast as he could, but apparently even a dog hybrid couldn’t escape this guy. His eyes widened when he felt the hand around his wrist, jerking him back, everything was a whirlwind of confusion until he realised he’d lost both his prize and any way to escape. For the first time in what felt like ever, the husky hybrid was speechless. With weary eyes he pulled his hand back, pressing his back up against the nearest wall in case he needed to defend himself. He was still trying to think of a response. How do you excuse trying to steal from a human walking home. “I- mistook you for someone else,” He began quickly. He was really quite a terrible liar.

@chen feiyu∘ ʰᵘˢᵏʸ just as Taehyung finished tying his shoe, he raised a brow as he heard footsteps running up from behind him and left him in shock to see the basket suddenly gone. Taehyung rolled his eyes with a little sigh before getting up and running after the other, he was confused of why the man had snatched his groceries but he wasn’t exactly mad about it. catching up to the other, took his wrist to stop him while his other hand took the basket, cornering the other so he couldn’t run, “what the hell was that for?” he questioned, panting from the run but his eyes looked the other up and down, he looked starving and he noticed the lumps in his beanie, a hybrid.

@kim taehyung∘ ᵒʷⁿᵉʳ The man stopped. For a moment, his heart raced, and Feiyu had the horrifying dread that he’d been caught. Just to be sure, he tugged the beanie down further over his ears. He didn’t mind people seeing what he was - hybrids weren’t uncommon after all. But if he was scruffy and hungry looking, what if they tried to move him on? When he saw the man tying his shoelace, he knew it was his time to strike. His slow footsteps became quick, quicker and quicker until he broke into a run, his hands finding the handle of the heavy basket that he made to move with. He didn’t care what was in it, it was probably food, he could take it and save it for himself.

@chen feiyu∘ ʰᵘˢᵏʸ he hummed a soft tune as he tried to hurry back to the sanctuary, he didn’t want to leave them alone for too long. the rain was just a little sprinkle, nothing too hectic to slow him down. though he heard noises behind him but when he turned, no one was there. strange. ‘you’re just paranoid.’ Taehyung thought to himself with a soft chuckle, checking the time on his watch, nearly dinner time, surely the hybrids were hungry by now. glancing down, he noticed his shoe was untied, how did that happen? he shook his head at himself before setting the basket down to kneel carefully to tie his shoe.

@kim taehyung∘ ᵒʷⁿᵉʳ [ set a few years in the past ]

It was easiest to hang around the grocery store. At the end of the day, when they closed, he could curl up in their doorway where it was still warm to sleep. It had been how long? Two weeks, maybe. His owners had gone on their honeymoon. They couldn’t bring him though, so he’d be in charge of feeding himself while they were gone. He was allowed anything in the fridge. They’d taken a lot of belongings with them, he noticed. He didn’t even get a scratch behind the ears before they left, not a tussle of his hair, not even a glance. But it was because they were excited about their honeymoon, right? They’d only be gone three days. Three days became a week. There wasn’t any food in the house anymore, so by the second week, he’d been forced to accept they wouldn’t be coming back for him. But the rain didn’t bother him, he probably wouldn’t look so worn if he was soaked to the bone. There was someone walking down the sidewalk alone- he was taller than them, he could have the basket out of his hand in a second, and make a run for it.

@chen feiyu∘ ʰᵘˢᵏʸ during the cloudy evening, the owner had decided to run out for errands since they were running low on supplies at the sanctuary. he’s never liked to leave the place unattended but what could go wrong, right? he trusted them to behave while he was out. after spending an hour or so in the grocery store, he finally walked out with his basket of food and walked down the sidewalk, it wasn’t that far of a walk. but as he continued, he looked up and it was beginning to rain and he didn’t have an umbrella. “great.” he snickered to himself quietly.
