@✦ phoebus it took perhaps too long for psyche to hear phoebus at the door. she seemed to really pass out, maybe it was because she overworked her body to the point of utter exhaustion. she did manage to hear phoebus' voice and hear the smacking on the door. the light was too bright in her eyes and had phoebus not sound so panicked, she would've turned over and snuggled deeper into the sheets.
she stood and brought one of her blankets around her shoulder, wiping at her dripping nose with her finger and shuffling (as fast as she could) to the door across the room. it spun around her but she somehow managed to make it all the way there, and with a sigh, she unlocked the door and opened it, seeing the scared look on her friend's face. "i'm sorry..." she said, pushing her face into her elbow and letting out a small sneeze.
"but you couldn't knock down the door yourself?" she turned and staggered her way back to her bed, still dizzy from her warm fever. she didn't falter enough for her legs to give out underneath her. she sat on the bed and took one of the tissues at her bed side table and blew into them. "you scared me."
@✦ psyche Phoebus was faced with silence. She tightened her hold around the handles of the plastic bag. Her lips pursed as the deity leaned close, knocking at the door and ringing the doorbell once more. And as she continued to meet with nothing, Phoebus raised the volume of her knuckles against the wooden door and pressing the bell with an increasing count.
“Psyche, are you in there?” Quickly, she pressed the side of her face to the door, lips pulled open and eyes going up and down.
Phoebus leaned away, exasperated. Useless thoughts entered her train of thought as questions like what-ifs started to flood her mind. Phoebus bang her hand against the door once. “I’m counting to three, open the door, please or I’ll have someone come and kick the door open! Psyche!”
@✦ phoebus she brought a tissue to her nose and blew into it, sighing once she threw the rag away. geez, she doesn't remember when she's been this sick last. probably when she was still a mortal, she sighed and leaned back in her desk chair. she would have to open the door for phoebus anyways, so there was no way she can stay in bed by the time she got here.

i have to open the door for you

she whined to herself before wrapping the blanket tighter around her shoulders, shivers going up and down her spine. maybe she could lay down, just until phoebus got here.... just for a little bit.
she pulled the blankets tighter around her and flopped on the bed, and once her head hit the pillow, she fell asleep.
@✦ psyche Phoebus’s brows furrowed with intensity. What was Psyche even trying to say? She was aghast as she stared at her phone screen before pressing her thumbpads on the screen. Her fingernails clicked against the surface.

She tossed the last box of instant food into her basket before heading straight to the cashier. “Ring me up, sir. I have a soon-to-be runaway patient to take care of.” And true to her words, Phoebus arrived at the dormitories, holding a huge plastic bag of food and meds. Stretching her hand out, she rang the bell, expression determined to burst through the other’s personal space since Psyche wouldn’t bother resting once she has the notes.
@✦ phoebus sitting at her desk, psyche's head started to spin. she just had to finish the last of this essay that was due at the beginning of next week, and she could lay down. her sinuses felt so full and her head felt so heavy, and that wasn't even mentioning her stomach. she usually was quite good at warding off illness, since she had perfect attendance. she even went to class yesterday, although getting scolded by phoebus was a little tiring, she went to class earlier as well. she wore a mask and stayed at a distance to her peers, of course, but she couldn't miss class today. she wouldn't tell phoebus that.

@✦ psyche Painkillers, check. Stomach flu medicine, check. Energy drinks, check. One by one, Phoebus threw the items into the green basket placed at her feet. She paused for a second as she picked up a cold pack for fever, blinking before slowly putting it down into the basket. Perhaps, she should have asked Hades for help. He would know more about taking care of sick people. What did he bring the last time she was suffering from the flu? Tugging onto the bundle of phone straps peeking out from the corner of her bag, she scrolled through the chat with Psyche.
