i'm not a fan of grammar

as a person who was a fan of 2ne1 since early 2010, Blackpink is not like 2ne1-  at all.

i know many people will not agree with this since they seem to have the same girl crush concept and blackpink debuted shortly after 2ne1 disbanded

creating the "blackpink is a 2ne1 replacement" conspiracy theories

while 2ne1 had a heavier techno and electronic sound with most of their music

Blackpink is steered to sound more poppy with aspects of hip hop and acoustics

so when i see comments of "this song sounds like a 2ne1 throwout song" it confuses me greatly

not only can i not see CL or Minzy rap the same lyrics Jennie and Lisa have, but together I can't see them pulling off the concept for Blackpink

Blackpink has a flair of girly and that's why they're called Black-pink while 2ne1 was about the new evolution and evolving their music

2ne1 is more mature when it comes to lyrics, vocals, presence and in general, music

the only thing they have in common is poor management and vocal technique from YG

and yes, Park Bom sounded way better before she debuted with 2ne1 and it's the same with Rose

i love their voices now too but there is something off with the way they sing at times

(i'm not a vocal teacher so i have no business critiquing anything but these are the observations i made)

somehow their voices have been made to sound smaller for whatever reason, you don't really hear the two of them reach high notes in their group songs

and rose is obviously more comfortable singing in a lower pitch and i truly dislike when singers are made to sing out of their vocal range

and not that anyone noticed, but the rappers of both groups tend to have better technique and improved greatly over the years of their careers

note: i have more user stories on the way but do not give me word placement that will allude to someone's u/n

i don’t think bp is like 2ne1 but i def think that yg intended on making a group that was supposed to be a 2ne1 2.0 in the sense of the members rather than music. their music sounds nothing alike (boombayah is probably the closest song to any 2ne1 songs) but you can kinda tell that yg created the group with 2ne1 in mind. so yeah, no hate to the girls since they’re nothing like them anymore, but fr those people who still bring it up and shove it in their faces are annoying. kill this love and dx4 or any of the songs off those albums sound nothing like 2ne1 but ok lol— bp, through their own right, has become just bp and have thrown away the title to a “future 2ne1” and i’m really proud of them.

i've never felt more alive with this post. i remember seeing my first blackpink video and it was titled, "The Future 2NE1", and I swear, from that day on, it left a bad taste in my mouth about BP. I've been a fan of 2NE1 since 2011, and they were the best and only girl group that I truly adored because of their sound, their vocals, their power and presence. They were one of a kind, so seeing that video, "The Future 2NE1", really made me feel some type of way. You're right, blackpink is no 2NE1. If YG had marketed blackpink in a different way from the very beginning, maybe i would've taken an interest. But with the whole "The Future 2NE1" bit, AND with the way they treated 2NE1 in the years following -- no thanks.

they are a replacement in the sense that 2ne1 was thrown away in favor of blackpink
