roleplaying as minors.

i've always found it somewhat odd that people choose to roleplay as underage characters and that roleplays even allow them to begin with. fictional characters i get, but portraying actual people who are minors, i do not.  i undertsand that not ever roleplay or plot involves something ual or dark/triggering, but what makes an adult want to act as if they're underage when there are so many of age characters to choose from? this isn't coming from negative or judgemental place, i don't think there should be a ban on characters who are minors. i am honestly interested in what makes people choose to play them, especially with how fast and unexpectedly things can get ual/rated in roleplays.

As an admin that has opened a we got married + superman returns inspired AU, I can assure you choosing to roleplay a literal child of 5-10 years old is not always for negative connotations. I don’t agree with people playing underage faceclaims and ualizing them. All I’m saying is it’s not strange that people roleplay children in some cases like when they don’t want their child to be a NPC or when they’re in an AU that revolves around marriage and children.

I often wonder the same thing, but I usually find it more concerning when they aren't even teenagers yet. There was one person who commented on mine and my friend's rp a couple months ago, and they were asking to rp as a child. I'm talking about a child around the age of 7 or 8- I can handle those who want to rp as 15+ so long as there is 100% NOTHING ual with them, but I don't know how to really feel about someone roleplaying as a 7 year old.

obviously, i'm not going to on people who do this (unless, you know- they're being disgusting), but I just can't wrap my mind around this idea.

When I play males I only go for underage male idols as people are more likely to listen to “they’re underage, sorry” than “I’m uncomfortable writing as a Male character”
