◐ 「 preview one 」⎯ city au ╱ with a twist!

❝ i was greedy, naive, too lazy for my own good when i was younger. i should’ve known that nothing comes free in life— but i never would’ve thought about getting deceived by my confidant, my best friend. it was like the last 30 years of our friendship was merely a game to her. she told me all i had to do was promise to never leave her side; of course i didn’t think much into it— it sounds like an innocent promise, doesn’t it? never thought i was pledging my loyalty to the demons then. we were told they were just myths but we’ve been lied to all this while. ❞

this is just an extract of what was written in a letter my late great grandma left for me. her smudged handwriting made me believe that she wrote this in a hurry; perhaps when she felt like she was on her last breath, so surely this is all nonsensical musings? she was senile too, her memories must’ve been mixed with her dreams (or nightmares, i couldn’t tell, really). maybe this was just a ramble about one of her adventures she did when she was a wee lass, but as i read on, i start to question the facts that were written in my textbooks, the history that was presented to all of us, for it all seems a bit like a lie— that is, if this letter is indeed factual. should i show this to my friend? my mom? is there anyone i could trust at all?
