As someone who sees Non AU or Idolverse for Tumblr users a particular way, I'm wondering why so many favor these one track types of atmpsheres. Looking to gain a different perspective, maybe there is something to be had there. My understanding is these places are often filled with crack (ic  - ooc weaving back and forth), very little rping, lots of pretty much just socializing with a idol's fc but being yourself. Any time I've perused these places I mostly just see chatting and one liners in rooms.

Do you favor these places as quick dopamine fixes for those who work a lot/don't wanna commit to writing? Do you feel there's a differences between one non-au and another minus title and who is running it? Love to here to genuine input.

Honestly 4th walling (ic-ooc weaving back and forth) is a pet peeve of mine, so I don't really join nonaus for that reason. I am in just one for now after being off rpr for so long, and I would say that I only joined as a quick fix. Otherwise, I'm an AU lover because I love immersing myself into my character—which, isn't this the whole point of rping?

Tbh I feel like 80% of the active roleplays are OOC related. Even when they have an IC chat people still mix them. Even when you ask them not to, they have no respect and keep doing it. That's why I prefer Au, and even then people do the same thing ... It's very hard to make a roleplay without people mixing them together that's why lately if I create a roleplay I don't do the IC chat anymore and do the ooc. On top of that I avoid all orientation cause those are the ones with a lot of ooc/ic mix. It's harsh but it's the truth. People join them and then they end up being more ooc in the ic...

That's why if I make a new roleplay I get stricter with the rules and people don't join. Cause they want Crack rps, but then complain in the blogs that they need a 'good plot' rp. .*shrugs*

I don't really enjoy them when they're like that but at the same time can't find places that aren't like that. I love to write and roleplay actual things, so I only join very few places that are like that. It's mostly only if irl is taking a toll on me, and I just need someplace I can do quick responses without worrying too much, but even then, I lose interest quickly.

I think you hit the nail on the head with this- and yes, I'm guilty of it but try to keep some type of threads going
