Read Before You Approach Me
✶ FOR PLOTTING. I'm more than okay with more detailed plots, with more spur of the moment meetings, and love deep long term connections. Just DM me if you're interested in any of my connections + plots, or if you want to pitch one!
✶ TIME ZONE & PACE. My timezone is GMT -4 (EST in the US) and I work a full time job with an inconsistent schedule, often consisting of nights and weekends. Because of that, my replies may be sporadic and sometimes, I do lose muse. As for reminders, do feel free to remind me if I haven't replied after 2 weeks!
✶ OOC INFO & MATURE THREADS. You can call me Rei, Moto, Mami, Motormother, or just by my character's name. I'm in my mid 20s. threads are a-ok with me; plotted and unplotted. Long as we keep them in appropriate spaces (DMs, mature rooms where it's allowed), is fine with me! Also long term romantic/endgame connections aren't required to write a mature thread with Miyoung.
✶ WRITING STYLE. I will generally tend to mirror the writing of whoever my partner is. So if you prefer semi-para, I'll do my best to match that. If you prefer full paragraphs/novella, I can mirror that too.
✶ GENRE LIMITS. Only genre I do not enjoy writing is anything involving actual fighting (other forms of physical violence are okay, with something agreed upon beforehand). Always plot out angst, drama, or things with potential triggers just in case I'm not in the right headspace for it.

The Story
Part I
Chapter I
The Cho family history is one lost to time - either through neglect of the previous generations or out of shame of their fall from grace. It mattered little now, as the family of cheonmin were now shoemakers, sewing and binding fabrics and leathers for the citizens. Miyoung was born into this family, on a cold February morning. Due to the low social standing of their family, her mother did not have adequate care and died shortly after giving birth to her only child. It fell upon Cho Minhak, her father, to raise her and try to provide a good life for her.

Every day, she would help her father work, she would carry heavy objects on her own while he was busy stitching together shoes. Her muscles would ache and her legs would give out, but she always kept a smile on her face. At night, she would gaze upon the walls of the lavish estates, dreaming of what a much easier life would be. One with soft and bright fabrics, delicious foods, courtship. All things that were forbidden to her due to unfortunate birth.
During the days, it was not uncommon for her to be accosted while running errands. From comments made about her under muttered breaths, to having names be shouted at her, or even rocks thrown at her, Miyoung had to learn from an early age to brush off such provocations. She would clench her fists until her knuckles turned white, her jaw would tense, but she would move on.
Then one day, opportunity came knocking. The yangban clan of Ahn family picked her to serve as the young Lady Suji's lady in waiting. Miyoung could not believe she, of all lower class young women, was picked for such an important role. Hugging her father with tears in her eyes, she bid farewell to the slums she knew so well. Perhaps it was her time to begin a new life.
