/while i was too immersed in simply gazing at you, i may have for a second there forget the existence of the boiling water, not until you mentioned it and i gasp very softly, turning my body and shifting my attention back to the now already boiling water, realising the cold package was in your hands and holds my hand out to you, wanting the package back from you.

/when you squeeze my hand, i can't shake the little tingle that it instills in the pit of my stomach, even as much as i try to ignore it in favor of just offering a little care where it's needed, but not asked for; any hope of letting it pass is fleeting when you lean over, your lips greeting the corner of my mouth; i breathe in deep, filling my lungs and feeling my chest rise and my shoulders slowly sink back into their squared position

it would be nice to do anything and everything with you. but! i have some ingredients to fetch for our tteokbokki. the water should be boiling soon.

/flashes you a smile, tilting my head in hopes that you would agree as i wanted to do this with you again, until i feel a sudden warmth around my hand as you take it between both of yours, my gaze shifting down to our hands, finding the gesture to be really sweet and my hand held firmly onto yours, giving it a light squeeze before leaning over to press a kiss over the corner of your lips, murmuring a soft ‘thank you’ right after.
we can. and it would most definitely be nice as long as it’s with you, love.

/murmurs, eyes slowly fluttering open; when you set the package aside, i slip my arms from your waist and reach for your hands instead, trying to clasp the hand that was holding the package between both of my own without a word or explanation
mmh, we can keep each other safe, right? it might be nice. and if it's too much, we can always turn it off and watch something else.

/glances over at you with a small smile, hugging onto you closer if possible while i soft caresses your side.

/sets the tteok down by the side first since it was starting to get cold on my fingers just from holding onto it, blinking for a moment from your suggestion and detaches myself from your hold, unsure if i heard it correctly from you.
you wanna watch scary stuff? huh .... /looks to the side for a moment and thinks for a second. alright, we can do that.

/my eyes slip shut, chin resting gently on your shoulder without any craning or stooping, while i appreciate the feel of you nuzzling against my hair with your cheek; it's a small comfort while i gently squeeze your waist
oh? that sounds nice. i like those ideas.
/a soft hum leaves my lips and i tilt my head toward one side with a smile on my face
what would you prefer? if we stay in, we can choose whatever movie we want.
/tilts my head, brows slightly raised as i consider our options, only glancing toward the pot as i see the tiniest of bubble occasionally rising to the surface in the pot
maybe we could stay in and watch scary movies and cuddle each other?

@♕ Kang Taehyun /hums softly in response to you as i stand right in front of the stove, staring at the pot, wondering when the water will come to a boil since it was pretty much the only job i had to do at the moment, glancing back at you, blinking.
what ideas? tell me.
/once i notice the little bubbles at the corners, i grab the frozen tteok, eager to just dump it all in the pot but i hold onto the edge of the packaging which wasn’t cold and maybe not-so-patiently wait for the water, turning up the heat a little more till i felt your arms around me and i hug your frame with my free arm, nuzzling my cheek into your hair.
hm, do you wanna go for those ... drive-in movie thing tonight? or, we could stay in my room or yours and spend the night with movie marathon? we could watch disney movies or marvel ones?

/once you get the rice cooker started, i beam, my eyes crinkling up a bit at the corners, only to turn aside and return to the more delicate and precise tasks of getting everything else ready for our picnic; while you handle the tteok, i catch myself glancing over my shoulder at you with a fond smile
i keep having more ideas of things we could make, but i think we've got a full menu already.
/laughs softly in spite of myself, and only once i'm certain i won't have to pickle radish specifically for gimbap, giving me a moment before i have to worry about the other things that need preparing, i come to you and wrap my arms about your waist
is there anything else you want to do? after the picnic, i mean?

/grins at the thought and presses a quick kiss on your cheek and straightens up, taking the pot from you and carries it over the the rice cooker, setting the pot in the cooker and switches it on, pressing the cook button, turning back to face you only to catch you bouncing, finding the sight to be absolutely adorable as i nod my head to your request.
yes sir.
/playfully salutes and grabs the packaging with the tteok, cutting it open and walks over to where the pots and pans were set, grabbing a pot and gives it a rinse, filling it up with water and sets it down on the stove, starting the fire to let the water heat and boil.

/after getting the water to run clear, and the right amount in the pot with the rice, i offer it back to you with a smile
this should be good to start in the cooker.
/a bright smile is on my lips and i bounce up a little on my toes

@♕ Kang Taehyun /as you take the pot from me, i glance back between you and the water, watching as you measure the level curiously, amazed with the way you handle it almost as if i’ve never seen rice get cooked before, shifting myself closer to you and clings onto your shirt, resting my chin on your shoulder for a moment as i glance up at you, nodding my head as i watch you wash the water, not wanting to continue with it any further.
hmm.... we could have a second one in my room. how does that sound?

@♗ Jeon Wonwoo /when you hold up the pot, i’m cautious in taking it from you, my fingers brushing lightly against yours; first, i glance at the water level and the faint line indicators inside
well this would be about the right amount of water, but… it’s a little cloudy, nunu. it needs to be washed.
/smiling warmly, i take the pot and place my hand inside to agitate the water and rice a little before dumping some of the water carefully
we’ll probably be able to have a second picnic tomorrow if we wanted to.

i’m not sure if i did it right? i usually just get those packaged rice from outside, i kinda forgot how to check the level for the water.
/scrunches up my nose as i wait for you to measure, tilting my head to the side.
mm a leftover sounds nice, we can always have it again tomorrow if we’re feeling it. i doubt we’re gonna have it again later since we’ll be having lots and our tummies would be super stuffed.

/as i head back toward the refrigerator i walk behind you, glancing over toward you with the rice cooker inner pot in hand; a soft smile graces my lips as i give you a moment and instead grab a package of pre-made tteok from the refrigerator and then come up beside you to give it a glance

/once you busied yourself with the ingredients, i open up the rice box, grabbing the cup and scooping up rice into the cup, about to pour it into the rice container thing but realises i’ve yet to grab it so i set it down.
we can. maybe they have those mini round cakes probably six inches, we could get that and share.
/walks over to another side of the kitchen to get the rice container thing and pours in two cups of rice; walks over to the sink with the bowl, and fills up the bowl with water, lifting up the bowl in an attempt to try and gauge the level, wondering if i did it right and glances back at you, then back at the bowl, then back at you once more.

/seeing the eager look in your eyes, i know i wouldn't want to disappoint, and so i busy myself in the kitchen, first chopping produce while we carry on conversation
maybe we can see if they have one at the bakery? or we can look ahead and see if there are any bakeries that advertise carrying that kind of cake.
/humming softly, i neatly arrange the produce in piles on the cutting board so that i'll have them ready when putting together the rolls
mmh... i think about two cups of dry rice should be enough to make sure we have plenty.

/gazes at you with a hint of eagerness shown through my eyes and the moment you let go, i stand at my spot, looking around a little lost with where the ingredients were so i watched you for a moment.
let’s get a strawberry one? though i did suddenly think of coffee kinda cake and i would love that.. might be hard to find, though
/mumbles softly to myself and as you mention where the rice box is, i open up the cupboard above me, spotting the rice box right away and reaches for it, grabbing it and setting it down.
how much rice do we need?

those all sound good. maybe gimbap, too? that's always good picnic food.
/as we enter the kitchen together, i give your hand a small squeeze, thankful to have made it without getting a little lost along the way; it's one of the major benefits of walking with you instead of trusting my own very faulty sense of direction
maybe we can stop by a bakery and get a little cake too? nothing too fancy since i know sweets aren't really your favorite.

*feeling hungry but lazy at this point, I look for the one thing I need* dairy pills...where are you *finds the bottle and smiles but pouts when I see its empty* I need this to eat the pizza I want to make *frowns softly as I look over at the frozen pizza I had taken out* just half the pizza...I should be okay *grins as I go heat up the oven and began to unwrap it*
