room of requirement

@Ꮆ。 hikarin. Lalisa hummed cheerfully to herself as she almost skipped across the hallway. Students stood by the windows and some walked past her—but not without leaving a glance toward her. She didn’t care, truly. She didn’t want to know what they were thinking, and it wasn’t like she wanted to know either. She was fine with just their stares, so long as it remained that way. She wished she had her earphones with her at that time though. It would have helped a lot to isolate her in her own little world. Yes, she loved making friends, but she didn’t like being the center of attention. If she were to have it her way, she would just hang out with even just a single friend for the rest of the day,

which reminded her that she had to hurry to the room of requirement. She ran her hand through her orange-dyed hair, pushing it back as she walked into the hall that she believed led to the said room. How long had it been since she last saw her friend? All throughout the winter holidays, all she’d done was go back home to Thailand and spent the rest of her break there. She couldn’t express how much she’d missed her homeland, but she missed Hogwarts as well—not certain green people. Not them.

She looked behind her first to make sure no one was following her, before she faced the blank and empty wall by the end of the hallway. Having done this a lot of times before—no one knew how many times, even she herself didn’t know. She just needed somewhere she could happily practice her spells—she didn’t need to speak. It was either she had gotten used to this, or they were already there at the room. A door appeared, and without wasting any time, she went inside and the wall closed behind her.

A smile quickly found its way to her lips as she saw a familiar figure inside. “Hey, hey, hey!” she greeted with energy people would think she’d lost by how hyperactive she was the whole day. “Rin, Rin, Rin!”

@ℜ。 lalisa m. Rin glided across the floor, their steps silent and they could feel students staring at them, the hallway becoming quieter as they walked past. The way they moved as incredibly graceful, almost effortless but Rin remembered their parents teaching them how to move ever since they were young. Rin's appearance at Hogwarts wasn't easy to look past, not in the slightest. A new transfer student entering into their school at third year, three years older than the rest of their year mates. Rin rarely answered questions regarding where they were from, who their parents were. Instead they would stare at the ones who asked such personal questions before walking off. Rin was seen as cold, standoffish, many were surprised that they were sorted into Gryffindor, many unsure if they were even..."Gryffindor material" whatever that means. If there was one thing that anyone could say if asked about Rin, it's the fact that Rin is not from the United Kingdoms, nor were they familiar with the houses. The Houses was such a foreign concept to Rin, something they still can't wrap their minds around, despite being a 7th year now.

One of the underclassmen was deeply involved in their conversation, and was walking without looking causing them to bump into Rin. Rin noticed the green that was associated with the Slytherin house on their uniforms as they caught onto the underclassmen's elbow, preventing the younger from falling. The soft murmur of "Careful." and Rin continued walking to their destination after the underclassmen had regained their balance. Rin slipped into one of the more deserted hallways and they couldn't help the small curl of their lips as they thought back to their winter holidays. They didn't spend winter holidays in England, they had returned home and was welcomed back with open arms and happy cheers. The calls of celebration because the family was back together again and relatives getting drunk, others excitedly telling them the stories that they missed while overseas. Their parents hugs and the murmurs of welcome home. Rin felt dismayed when it was time for them to return back to Hogwarts. The bittersweet farewell, the wishes of studying well and taking care of themselves. It always hurt, coming back to Hogwarts. But Rin yearned to experience something like this, studying far, far away from home and learning the culture and the people.

"I need somewhere to duel. I need somewhere to duel." Rin repeated, walking along the wall and sure enough a room had appeared. Rin slipped into the room and was the first one there, they would have to wait for their friend to come. Rin was...very curious on what they spent their winter holidays doing. Pulling their cloak off, Rin was dressed in black jeans, and a black vest with a white button down shirt underneath. Folding their cloak neatly and placing it on the side, Rin stood in front of the dummy. "Might as well practice in the mean time." They sighed, stretching their limbs for a few moments and taking a few steps back. A deep inhale and they flicked their wrist, their wand -the one they got from Ollivanders- appearing in their hand. Rin shot spell after spell, at the dummy, their lips not moving and movements not wasted. The dummy putting themselves back together when destroyed and Rin could hear the last conversation they had with their dueling tutor. 'You should be used to using wandless magic in dueling right now. Wands are useful, but they are limited. I will fail you if you dont start using wandless magic in dueling more. If that is what it takes for you to either start practicing or return home so I can beat it into you, so be it.' Rin gritted their teeth together, their joyfulness quickly turning into anger. The anger bubbling in the pit of their stomach and slowly started to bleed into their movements, determination glinting in their eyes. The spells flying out more rapidly as an attempt to release some of the anger from within.

"Using threats against me? Me? of all people? i made my promise, my vow. Failure is not an option, not when i'm this close to being done. I WILL pass the damn course even if it's the Last. Thing. I. Do." Rin bit out, raising their free hand and pushed their palm out, as if they were pushing something and the dummy slammed against the wall, crumpling into a heap on the ground. Rin breathing heavily, more trying to calm themselves down than exhaustion. Rin turning their back to the dummy -fully knowing that it would repair itself- and cursed softly, remembering that they didn't bring water with them. "I need to remember to bring water with me. Perhaps I can stop by the kitchens to get a glass or something..."
