@chong tingyan his heart swells, beyond comprehension and explanation. the subtle tremors causing flickers of light to perform pirouettes within the depths of her hazelnut spheres causing an involuntary tug of his heartstrings. undivided and unbending, the words repeated in his subconscious like a mantra as her roseate lips fell upon his skin in a kiss so sublime in it's innocence, and raw in it's essence to the weight of the moment that he felt it course through his veins, creeping into every existing niche and crevice in his body – until the sole thought of her was all that was left in him. "of course, but–" he guides her along the first couple of steps, just until they were ankle deep in the water, before he comes to a halt once more, words coming to a cease along with his movement. "before that." he gazes at her as he always had, pools of obsidian conveying an emotion so intense that it couldn't be brought to his lips – but one he certainly dared to believe was stronger than any force in the vast expanse of any universe. his heart lashes within the confines of his chest akin to a fierce beast, it's thrums resonating through him incessantly as the nerves he'd kept so well imprisoned throughout the evening began to gnaw at his meticulously built confidence.

"chong tingyan," the taller begins, pausing to take a soft intake of air before he recollects himself to continue once more. "i love you, and these three words honestly can't even begin to express the amount of love that i feel for you. since the moment you walked into my life, things have been so different that i've honestly forgotten what things were like before i met you. i love the way you've integrated yourself as an inseparable part of me, and for that i know i'm truly lucky. loving you has showed me the world in a new light, and i know now how it feels to love someone to the extent of madness and loving someone in a way that surpasses most expectations that one holds for being loved. you're a part of me now and the love that flows through my heart for you surpasses every other emotion that I have ever felt for anyone, more than you'll ever know." it pours from him, the love he felt for her. he offers her dainty hands a gentle squeeze, his nerves dispersing almost instantaneously following his realization of just how easy and effortless it was to tell her – how much she was loved by him. "i love you just because, i do — because it would be impossible for me not to. it's without question, calculation, without reason good or bad. it's just faithfully, with all my heart and soul." the brunette strikes a tender simper, the expression etching across his visage ever so gentle, as a rosy tinge flares across the apples of his cheeks.

it was then, when he all but lowered himself to one knee. "you taught me that such a thing as unconditional love existed when you found a way to love me in the condition i was in, and i still remember it, crystal clear, when you chose to do so. when you accepted me the day i swore it to you four months ago, on this same day, when i confessed that i loved you beneath the constellations you so adored." he then releases her hands, reaching back into his pocket to produce a small, water soaked, velvet hued box. "i have so much of you in my heart and—" he's looking into her eyes, his own scintillating with a sheen of un-shed tears. "i'm going to do it again, i'll swear it, under the same constellations you so adore." he presents the box towards her, palm atop it's lid and seconds away from revealing it's contents—

"with this hand, i will lift your sorrows. your cup will never be empty, for i will be your wine. with this candle, i will light your way in darkness—" he pondered whether she could recall, the day he proudly claimed to one day say the words that were falling from his lips, as it were happening.

"—and with this ring," he opens the little red velvet box to reveal a moonstone ring, sitting refined, polished and in all it's grace, facing it's only owner. "—i ask you to be mine."

"chong tingyan, will you marry me?"
