[part 7, I'm pretty sure the dolls are lost on the island swamp but just overlook this for me pwease huhuZ]

"GODD*MNIT WHERE IS THAT PIECE OF SH*T!", a mud-covered creature screamed in a high-pitched voice. Behind here stood a young male who didn't have even a speck of dirt on him. He was currently staring into the distance blissfully, waving his arms around in flowing motions and perfectly ignored the wailing siren beside him. "AND YOU!", the creature flared up once more, shoving a slim finger at the boy as if she wanted to pierce him with it, "HELP OUT YOU USELESS THING YOU!" Besides an innocent, confused look, she got nothing from him. There was nothing she could do, except go back to rummaging through the moist dirt in search of a voodoo doll. Grumbling under her breath, she kept reminding herself that she just had to be a little patient and she would hit it big. No more soggy ramen noodles. No more ty fortune-telling for incompatible couples. And best of all, she could finally move out of her shoddy tent and into a grand apartment! And.. and.. she could buy y, new clothes! Screw "looking like a witch doctor". The only reason she was still wearing these rags is because she had fallen for a pyramid scam. That's right. That's right. It shouldn't take too much longer. Nervously, she glanced at the care-free male, sizing him up. He didn't look much better than her right now. Clothes drenched in sweat, the front of his pants half open. He was missing his underwear too. Honestly, ... and he even looked like the innocent type. The lady clicked her tongue in distaste. Indeed, one could never judge people by their appearance. As long as he was conscious of what he was doing, she wouldn't get involved in his business. Then again.. he didn't look very conscious right now. Tsk. She had always thought that mardi gras was too wild of an event. Who knows, maybe he was just a young kid who had accidentally gotten swept up into the festivities. There were plenty of people willing to feed strangers weird substances for their own amusement. Oh well. Sighing, she absent-mindlessly picked up a dirty little doll and shoved it into her pocket. Ah yes.. the voodoo doll she was looking for should look like the doll she had just found. She really hoped she would find it soon, the intoxicated boy had already wandered off quite far..

Wait.
WAIT.
Blinking wildly, the witch doctor whipped out the doll she had just found and stared at it incredulously. A wide grin spread on her lips. She found it! This was it! Wait. The next moment panic was reflected on her face as she hastily turned to stare at the empty spot where the male had just stood. She looked up. Eunwoo was stumbled around aimlessly, about 200 meters away from her and was distancing himself from her at a frightening pace. "Wait!!", she called out hurriedly and picked up her feet to run after him. "I haven't gotten rich ye-!!!" Her exclamation was rudely interrupted when she tripped on.. something and fell flat on her face in the mood. "..." Today was such a terrible day. "Oh well.. at least I found the doll. I'll remove the curse from this, since I already found it anyway..", she sighed to herself and picked herself up. Wiping some mud out of her eyes she glanced down at the doll in her hand again, but something entirely different caught her gaze. What was that..? Something was glittering in front of her foot...

[ Part 7 ]

Today was his birthday. Not J-Hope's birthday, but.. Jung Hoseok's birthday. Today was the day he was reborn; he decided he was going to start anew in a place where his past could not reach him. But to assure that his past really did not reach him, he needed to make sure that J-Hope died. And that started with burning his things.

After visiting the one place he had grown up living in, it was difficult to forget J-Hope. The warehouse was the same, the compound was the same, even the rooms were the same. Nothing much had changed. Well, J-Hope— Hoseok didn't know how long he had been absent for, but to him, it felt like an eternity away that he was on his knees, taking it in the and the mouth by Master's right-hand men. A sinister shudder travelled down his spine at the memories that resurfaced.

Once he reached the swamp at the outskirts of the city, a truck-full of things associated to him in tow, Hoseok immediately set out to look out for an ideal spot to burn his belongings. There was a small clearing in between a few large puddles which the boy deemed sufficient. It took a while, but he managed to pile up everything in that clearing. The next bit — dousing the pile in kerosene — was the easy bit. And the next step — lighting the pile on fire — was the easiest. Watching his past burn to cinders, the ashes fluttering into the air, was what really helped set the fact in that he was free — there was no one to stop him now. A smile graced Hoseok's lips. It felt good to smile again. "R.I.P J-Hope," he whispered, the inferno's reflection flickering in his eyes.

He could only laugh at that, shaking his head as his shoulders were vibrating with each chuckled exhale, head tipped down and fist balled in front of his mouth as he tried to swallow down the tears that were welling up inside of him, memories clogging up his entire system. "Of course not.", the tall raven head snorted, looking away from her angry eyes that reminded him so much of her. "I gave in to her. I prepared everything for us to run away from that ing disgusting life, to start over and raise this stupid child of hers together. So she could finally have a good life."
She was silent then, blinking away tears of her own, voice breaking around her next words: "So you... you wanted to run away with her. And they found out."
"She was a warning for me.", Sehun nodded, turning on his heel to walk back towards the car that was bathing them in sterile white light. "And now I killed all of the ers who dared to deliver her onto my table so I was the one holding the knife that took her life."

[] part 9 of Shixuns journey

part 1

The car was silent, smoothly taking turns and leaving the buzzing city behind, soon swallowed by the dark of the night. "Is it done?", she had asked as soon as she had picked up the phone, cutting off what ever Sehun had attempted to say. Of course she already knew. She always did. Sehun had always delivered when she had called him, handing her over the most perfect work she could ever ask for. It had been his job for so long that it seemed to be engraved in his flesh, muscle memory making him act. Or that was what he had tried to tell himself while cleaning up the mess he had caused on his hotel room bed and all over himself, standing under the spray of almost too hot water in the shower cubicle, scrubbing his skin clean.
"You miss it.", she said in the driver seat, smoothly swerving off the street and into a narrow dirt road that lead them away further from New Orleans and deeper into the Bayou. The night was still silent, as was the car around them, the occasional thump of the vehicle across the gravel the only sound accompanying them on their way towards the swamp.
"No.", he answered her after a couple of minutes, looking out the window and watching the world zip by like a black and green nightmare. "No, I don't miss it."
She huffed, while she slowed down, upper beam illuminating the swamp that now spread out in front of them. The tires ground loudly against the dirt now, car hobbling over bumps in the narrow path and starting to sink into the moist mud spreading out around them.
"You really do.", she whispered, reaching for the silver cross around her neck. "I can see it in your eyes. You haven't looked this alive in years, Sehun."
"Shixun.", the raven head corrected her angrily, slamming a hand down on the headboard and making her flinch, the car swerving dangerously. "I told you this life is over now! . I swear if this wasn't the last time you called me, you will be the next one on the table."
Her sudden burst of laughter made him flinch in his seat, head whipping around so fast, his neck made an ugly cracking noise, eyes finding hers, glinting with mirth. "Oh.", she silently said, plush lips spreading around her perfectly even teeth. "But how can you say you don't miss it...?"
Sehun chose not to reply to that.

They watched the body sink into the dirty waters side by side, arms almost touching and the small woman by his side rocking up and down on her heels, humming a silent song under her breath.
"So he was the one?", she asked after a while, voice loud even though she was almost whispering to him. Sehun nodded slowly, watching her reach for the cross once more and curl her fingers around it. "Yes."
"Tell me how it happened.", the petite brunette demanded then, looking up at him and for once, he didn't feel like lying to him. He had never told her more than she needed to know, never more than the fact that he would feel guilty until the very last day of his life, the very last breath he would ever take.
And so he stood there, looked down at the woman who had once looked so much like the one he called his heart, the one his soul belonged to - and now didn't resemble her at all anymore.
"She wanted a way out.", he started slowly, gaze skipping over the Bayou around them, to the bubbles that were still rising from where they had tossed the body into the water. There was movement in the distance and Sehun wondered for a moment, if this would end up as a meal for the Alligators out here now.
"And I didn't want to come with her at first. Not when... when she was pregnant with another mans child and I had everything I needed."
"You loved it.", the woman next to him hissed, balling her hand around the cross she was still clutching tightly. "And you still lie about loving it. You loved it more than you did her."
"Maybe.", Sehun snapped, feeling the pricking beginning of anger rise in his throat. "Maybe I did, but could you blame me? You still haven't left them. You're still working for them. You are just as vile as I am."
"So then what?", she urged him, stepping away from him to stare up into his face in disgust. "You ratted her out? Is that what happened?"

Maybe it was the calm here that he needs to bring feelings back, looking at the murky water and limping along a path that he didn’t know had been carved out by generations of people. All who were lost in a similar fashion to him, all who had similar problems - although they probably didn’t kill and maim people on a fair ride. Alligators lay lazily along the water, blending in. They didn’t seem to care for the man that was limping through, not even twitching a tail at the brilliant red that sat atop his head.

Taehyung’s aviators glint with the firefly aesthetics that were floating around him, like he was in a real life snap chat filter - or a real disney movie. He’d experienced a lot of that while working in Disneyland, but never .. Never like this. There was something so surreal about this, so serene that he wanted to just lay down and let nature take him here. His fingers reach up to the fireflies that swirl around, peripherals catching sight of frogs that were hopping along lilypads --

Nature took her course then, the alligator’s jaw snapping wide open and grabbing the frog by the leg. Tossing the poor animal up into the air before clamping its maw around the amphibian. Taehyung’s eyes widen and he limps quickly away, further along the bayou and --

What was that in the distance?

His eyes strain along the darkness of the night, lit up only by nature’s night lights .. A wooden cavern, covered in moss and algae. Looking decrepit and full of cobwebs, like it hadn’t been used in forever, but there was this .. Sense that he needed to go in there. His chest heaves as he limps forward, taking the bayou on with stride - as much as he could with a gimp leg.

His ankle throbs in protest as he lifts himself up the creaking stairs, hands trailing along the dusty wood. Catching the grey and staining his palm a wood-like color, like someone had attempted to polish it once, but the effort was lost as Mother Nature polished it with her own cleaner. He wheezes at the dark look, chest burning and lungs squeezing from the musty scent that was coming from behind the door .. His tongue peeks out along his lips and he pushes it open, listening to the eerie creak.

Was this where his answers would be?

Vendetta {1/2}

“The lab is here somewhere,” I whisper to myself as I carelessly pass through one of many cemeteries in the city of New Orleans, one of the labs where Dr. Carrigan frequently visits to check up on the subjects’ progress. I made sure that he was here beforehand, before getting the plane ticket and flying out here supposedly for a Mardi Gras celebration but I didn’t care for such festivities. I had a vendetta, and that vendetta was to end this man’s cruel experiments once and for all.

As I pass through the cemetery, my brain subconsciously adds the names on the tombstones to the memory folder. I never knew why it did that, I never had a use for them but it insisted that the names stay. Maybe one day the names will have meaning. I step out into a swamp, weird, and make my way to the closed off piece of land bordered by barbed wire. A hand encloses around the barbed ends and I feel no pain. I pull back with a small grunt and rip the metal border in half, then I make my way through the rip, a piece of broken metal scrapes my skin and some of my blood drips onto the grass. .

“You’ll patch it up later, 158,” I whisper sternly, crouching down into the grass and slowly making my way around the facility to the rear entrance. I could sense Dr. Carrigan near this entrance, he must of just arrived from the airport. Could it be that he was here for Mardi Gras celebrations? It’s too much of a coincidence. For all I know he could have been here because I was here. Don’t get too ahead of yourself Ji, you’re here to stop him not have a runion.

The building had cameras everywhere, I could sense two near the rear entrance and there was one right behind me. I disabled that one before I ripped open the gate, that would have sounded alarms by now but I didn’t hear anything. I trudged on. Once I got to the entrance I disabled both cameras through the chip within the temporal lobe of my brain. It was amazing how much tweaking you can do with this program, now I can control radio waves and access any device within any facility. Both cameras power down and the magnetic lock disables.

I push through the heavy metal door and was met with at least ten lab guards, clad in swat attire and guns drawn.

“Get on the ground now!” One yelled, raising his gun higher, aiming at my head. . I lift both arms and fold my hands behind my bed, regarding them with a grave stare and a small smirk. None seemed phased by my expression except for one whose eyes widened, losing composure immediately and it was all I needed before I charged forward. I tackled the frightened man while simultaneously disarming all the men with a of my head. My fingers squeezed the base of his throat until they scraped against his trachea and I pull back, a sickening crunch echoes through the corridor and the frightened man lays limp under me. The men above me stand there frozen, eyes widened with horror staring at the dislodged trachea in my bloodied hand.

“Get on the ground,” my voice was uncharacteristically low as I growled, and all the men fell to the ground with a deafening thud. None of them were breathing. I dropped the organ next to the dead man as I stood, wiped the blood off my hands and onto my shirt, then trudged one towards the observations room where the doctor was.

Vendetta {2/2}

I drag the limp body of my creator through the tall grass. No worries, he’s still breathing, but not for long.

A groan escapes the unconscious man’s lips once we’re out of sight from the cameras of the facility. There was blood splattered all over my shirt, blood, that wasn’t mine, smeared on my cheek, and blood coating my hands and caking under my nails. I was practically covered in this stuff, but it didn’t bother me. Nothing did at this point. The only thing on my mind was the rid of this heavy body that was I was dragging through the cemetery, towards the hole I had dug before trespassing onto the private property.

“158,” the doctor groaned, “please… I can help you... I can save you.”

“I have already been saved, Doctor,” I reply flatly, keeping my eyes to my destination.

“No you haven’t!” His voice was panicked, body struggling to free itself from my iron grip. He knew that it was fruitless, why was he trying? “I have the final serum,” I stopped, “I can make you powerful, more powerful than Prototype 1.”

“Impossible, you used the final serum on him. I can’t be more powerful than him.” My head twists towards you, my seething glare renders the man immobile.

“Not this one,” He replied in a shaky voice, “I made a new one, it hasn’t been tested yet b-but you can be the first one to have it.” I drop him, which makes him yelp in terror, and crouch down to his eye level. My eyes were bloodshot with the rage that has been festering since I left that dreaded lab.

“Listen closely, Doctor,” I grab the man by the collar and yank him close, our noses barely touching, “I don’t give a flying about the serum okay? I left the lab because I wanted no part of your TWISTED ING GAME!” As I stood, I hoisted the doctor up by his collar and started dragging him to his grave again. Once we were there, I dangled him over the edge and held him there. He looked behind himself and began to sob, reaching out for my collar but I held him just out of reach. He begged and pleaded for me to spare him but my brain has already tuned him out, and I stand there staring. Staring at the man who brought me into this world and now I was about to kill him. A rational part of me was telling me to spare him and run back to the island, but the vengeance in my heart was too strong. He killed all of my past brothers and sisters with his sick little game and now I was about to play a little game of my own.

“Be quiet,” I lift my open palm and close it slowly in front of him, and just like turning the volume on a tv, his voice gradually got quie. “And lend me your ear.” I extend a finger then curl it forward. The doctor’s face twisted in pain and his mouth opened in a silent scream as the shell of his ear was slowly being ripped off by an invisible force. I let it drop into the grave, following its descent with a small smirk.

“Are you listening?” He nodded frantically, “Good.” I turned him so that his good ear was facing me, I leaned in and spoke.

“I do not want to be one of you war toys, neither does the prototype. So I will warn your men once more after I’ve disposed of your corpse: Don’t come and find us, or you will all die. I warned you when I escaped that lab, yet you still sent your men after me.” As I spoke, I slowly began to clench my fist at my side, relishing the choking noises the doctor was making.

“Look at how strong I’ve become Doctor, aren’t you proud of me?” I spoke the last few words with venom spilling from my lips, blood was now beginning to spill from his, “I am what you wanted me to be since you administered the serum, aren’t I a success?” You are a monster, I imagine him telling me, I made a mistake making you.

“What’s it like being killed by your own creation? It’s ironic isn’t it?” I watched as he struggled to breathe through his own blood, it was a satisfying sight. Well, in a sadistic sense.

“Tell me, how many children have you killed though your experiments, Doctor? 100? 200? Or was I the last one because I was a ‘success’?” I hissed out the last word as I clenched my fist so tight my knuckles turned white. He began to sputter out more blood, which went on my face, and struggled in my hold. Finally, he went limp, eyes pointed to the heavens as if he was hoping to go there. But I knew better, I threw his corpse into the six foot hole.Once his body dropped with a sickening thud, I extended my arms, outstretched my fingers, then closed them into fists and made an harsh tugging motion. The pile of dirt next to the hole lurched forward and fell on top of the doctor’s corpse and filled the hole again.

I wiped the remaining blood off my face with my shirt and began to head to the alibus. I was over this place already, I’m ready to go home. I’ve sought my vengeance.

Part II. The Message.

The swamp isn't necessarily the best place to go, but it does offer some semblance of seclusion. Trembling softly, the young man finds a place in the grass and pulls out the envelope from his back pocket. It's soft pink, beaming with innocence and for some reason Taemin believes it's not. But Taemin has never been anything else other than innocent. Perhaps, if you don't hold him accountable for the murder of his parents. Taemin has never seen their bodies even after they had run the post-mortem. The last thing he remembers of them is the blood splatter. And that's it.

There's no good reason for someone to send him a letter, unless they knew of his crime. And he had made sure that all the evidence is burnt and buried for good. He rips it open.

Cursive writing meets his eyes, and he struggles momentarily to read.

'It is with great condolences I write this letter for you, Kim Minjung. I'll keep this brief. My name is Phillips and I was informed of your parent's death shortly after you were shortlisted for this program. I'm a surgeon. Your parents have given me a sum of money in order to perform surgery on you, but just before the day of the scheduled surgery, your parents were murdered. I have tried contacting you but it was impossible with the police and authorities involved. But now that I've finally tracked you down, I suggest we do it as soon as we can. I'm here in New Orleans as well and I have all the equipment ready in a local clinic. Meet me tomorrow at two in the afternoon. Your mother said you have been wanting to be beautiful for a while, and I promise you I'll do my best. The address to the clinic is at the bottom of this letter. And I also need you to sign a few papers I've included in the envelope.

With regards, Phillip. T.'

At the back, Taemin finds the papers. Details and details of the surgery. Male implants.

His mother had hired a surgeon to give him s. s.

All the sounds of the wildlife surrounding him suddenly go very, very quiet.

Taemin finds it difficult to breathe. With a gasp, he rips the letter to shreds and throws it into the water.

He keeps the unsigned documents.
jaijin l. 〈 jinx |SH| 7 years ago
@seungho y. 〈 borrison The swamp is dark, smelling slightly of wet mold and intense greenery. It's not something Jaijin is used to in all honesty. He's always been someone that preferred being in a town or city, just because the presence of people was, well, it wasn't comforting, but they were just there. Maybe it was Jinx's old habit of tracking down victims, or Jaijin's own crushing loneliness before the turn. Whatever it was he had no idea what he was doing out in a swamp of all places. Especially when all the inhabitants of the island had been up and moved to a large city - in the United States as well. Jaijin had never left the country before this trip so you could say he was out of his element, evidenced by his lack of stable footing as he traipsed over the fallen leaves and covered his boots in mud. He tried to remain on the embankment that dipped into tall waters, but couldn't help accidentally tripping once or twice. Cries of frustration ran silent with his broken vocal chords.

Just as he was beginning to try and find his way out of the swamp (again, why was he even here?) he heard a noise somewhere not too far off. Beneath the steady buzz of insects and other nocturnal creatures Jaijin was able to pinpoint a swish of air. One that came from a figure jumping out of the trees. At least, that's what it looked like from this distance. Having no sense of self-preservation Jaijin dared to venture closer, pace speeding up a bit before slowing down as he was just a few feet away from the confrontation.

"You!!!" That was the loud cry he heard, a few moments later followed by the all-too-familiar groan of pain that came with being struck down. Jaijin positioned himself behind one of the large tree trunks covered head to toe in slimy moss. His fingers pressed against the spongy surface, tingling with what could be called anticipation. Anticipation of what would happen next. The man didn't have to wait long as whoever the attacker was got down to business rather quickly. Quietly, he observed as the man's swords danced about the other man now on the ground, the fresh smell of warm blood invading his nose. Even if it gave him away Jaijin couldn't help but inhale the scent with something akin to a smile ghosting his features. How long it had been since he'd smelt the red liquid of life. However, he found he couldn't focus on the sensation for much longer as the "fight" was beginning to draw to a close. When the attacker pulled down his mask Jaijin was unlucky enough to be behind and not catch sight of his face. He could only hear a voice, catching wisps of words like 'nightmare' and the name 'Kyungho.' Then it was over, one last slash to the briefcase man's throat before he died. Jaijin could practically visualize the light leaving his pupils - a tale Jinx often regaled him with after past endeavors.

Holding his breath, not wanting to be caught just yet, Jaijin waited for the man to finish what he started. He just watched as they began to get rid of the evidence. It certainly wasn't a clean kill, but being this far out and going so far as to burn one's clothes was a good enough way not to get caught. Lucky for them Jaijin isn't going to report to the police.

After a few more minutes the attacker is gone, showing marvelous dexterity as they scale the trees and flee, off into the night. Jaijin waits a little longer before finally coming out of his hiding spot. It's a shame - he'd been hoping to interact with the corpse, but all he was left with was the head.

And what an ugly thing it was too.

He approached the body part with rapt attention, eyes following the blood that dripped onto and into the swamp's squishy floor. There was no hesitance as he reached one hand out to allow some of the ruby beads to slip over his pale skin. If only he had words to express what he felt. Instead, he merely clapped - hands pushed together, loud and clear over the hooting owls and cicadas. Did he want the attacker to come back? Was he hoping for something? Jaijin didn't know, a silent laugh spilling over dry lips as he applauded the show.

Finally, finally the time have come for him to finish up what he had left unfinished. It is time for him to tie any loose ends that has cause him to grieve, to yearn for his lover who is by now, resting in the eternity of life. A place that he can no longer go to reach for his lover, to hold him, to feel him ever again. Seungho inhales a deep breath. He put on his skull mask over his face, covering his face from the bridge of his nose, down to his chin, while his pair of eyes are hidden behind his bangs, not completely but only half of it, covering his looks perfectly. Then he tied up the headband, securing any loose strands of his hair before he puts on his swords on his back. The ‘Ripper’ and the ‘Reaper’ is the twin swords given to him when he reach the age of twenty and that time, he managed to single-handedly defeating ten most strong assassins of his assassins guilds without any weapon, proving that he is the only worthy heir to inherits the Dragon Lord favourite weapon. His swords have taken so many life, and spilled so many blood that Seungho has long forgotten the count.
Seungho looks up at the night sky, it wasn’t the full moon and the darkness are surrounding the area, better for him as he is completely dressed in black, make it easier for him to hide as he waits for his target to come and as he predicted, his trained hearing picks up on the sounds of footsteps coming his way, towards the swamp, showing that his plan is already in action.
The dark forest howling with scary sounds of the winds cleaving the chilly and cold night. He keeps running on his feet. Both of his eyes scanning through his surroundings as he can still remember the death shadows that as he tries hard not to fall down by tripping on dead stubbles or twigs. He hugs the briefcase tightly while keep running away. “Going somewhere?” he hears the scary voice, sounding calm but he can sense how murderous it really is actually. He gulps his saliva down. The shadow of the death is now dancing right in front of him.
Seungho jumps off the branch he has been hiding on, landing gracefully in front of the one that still hugging on his briefcase tightly. He carves a small smile, mocking the condition of the man who by now already falls on his , trying hard to avoid him but to his advantage, he keeps playing with the shadows of the nights, hiding in the darkness and comes out once a while, making his target to cower with fear. “You!!!” he said, suddenly appearing behind his target, then he unsheathes Ripper out and struck down the cowering man’s back making the man screams in pain. Seungho disappear once again, taunting the others.
“Who are you?!” the man shouts again making Seungho to re-appear and slices down his hand that has been holding the briefcase. Seungho looks at the man once the man falls on the ground, writhing in pain and he pushed the man down with his foot. “Your worst nightmare…” he whispers out as he impaled his sword through the man shoulder making him cries more in pain.
“Please…let me go…I’ve done you wrong…” the man pleads making Seungho smirks even more before he leans down, grabbing the now hand-crippled man by his hair and he removes his skeleton mask. “You…killed Kyungho….”he said and without waiting much more, Seungho slits the man throat and the bloods splutters on his face but Seungho doesn’t flinch even a bit. Some of the blood manages to splash on his lips, making Seungho to it off before throwing the slowly lifeless body down on the ground, only to witness how’s the body is convulsed on the ground. Once the body stops moving, Seungho cuts off the head from the body and drags the body to the swamp and dump the body there whilst he hung the head on one of the tree branches before he takes off his clothes and burn them up and he puts on new clean clothes. “That’s what you got from betraying us…Sooryung…” he said and then without a trace, Seungho disappear again into the night sky.
