PARK
Relax, take a walk, and take in the calm scenery not found near the city.

@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ smoking isn’t uncommon at jinyoung’s workplace. a simple light of a cigarette removes stress in a blink of an eye, and of course, he gets that frequently. he doesn’t like the reoccurring talk about smoking; he knows that it’s bad, but he won’t stop. he already deals with , and the act of quitting cigarettes is something that he doesn’t want to pursue. “yeah, yeah, status of my lungs might be damaged—whatever,” he restates with intentions of mocking. he rolls his eyes once again before taking in another inhale. “i can deal with it. this isn’t your job.” it shouldn’t be the robot’s job regardless; he doesn’t need a measly android on his tail about the bad habit.

at the corner of his eye, he notices the android standing from her position. /scoping the place/ only pushes jinyoung to roll his neck back in more annoyance. he is somewhat bitter that he is positioned in an easy and unnecessary station. scoping a park is something that he can do from sitting at one place, which is here of course. though, he doesn’t want to necessarily decline, despite the offer being asked by an android. a simple stroll can take his mind off of it, “walk around the area... i guess so.” hands slip inside the big pockets of his uniform, and exhaling the cigarette once more before he does so. he slowly sits up from his slumping, then standing up while he rubs his nape.

@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ Although his response, she felt inclined to analyze the health of his body due to his smoking habits, her led processor threatening to blink a faint yellow. Despite so, she withheld from the urge as she had figured he was already made self aware of the issue, and she didn't wish to further provoke him. "The status of your lungs could be damaged, is all," was all she uttered through her breath, her eyes blanketing over the park to reassure she wasn't missing anything that could've happened at the moment before peering back at Jinyoung.

"I understand," she said, although her words contradicted her inner beliefs — she didn't understand him at all. In her defense, he wasn't offering her any leads as to exactly why, but as the lieutenant, you're bound to see bad and encounters, specifically for the police department. "Instead of staying in this spot, lieutenant, how about we take a walk around the area? Just to scope the place thoroughly?" She asked, making her way to stand up from the comfort of the bench. Though she doubted that anything eventful would take place on this night, her duty as patrol stayed as priority for her than to unintentionally trigger and annoy someone as skeptical as Jinyoung.
p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ [A] 4 years ago
@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ his eyebrows knit with the tint of annoyance still remaining. he takes in the nicotine one more time before settling it between his middle and pointer. the thought of anyone in rlo being a great person irks him. the atmosphere of that organization has never been a good place for androids, regardless the police department is the same as well. though, he knows that there are few who remains stagnant on their opinions—they believe that androids have the same emotions as a human. jinyoung has thought about it frequently, but the idea never struck him. there is no way that a piece of metal can possibly think the same. maybe it happens for a brief moment, but it'll never stay there. his expression only decreases, with that slight frown that he switches to. "yeah, smoking is a bad habit. what is there to it?"

a strand of hair falls as his head bows down, and then inward, the cigarette sparks the hint of bright orange. the awkwardness between them is obvious, but jinyoung doesn't blame to change that. the clock is ticking, and there isn't much to do beside create conversation. perhaps, a walk around the park will do something, but he isn't going to do that with robotic yoo shiah. the audacity of the android to persist on creating conversation, it only manages to make a vein throb. he proceeds on answering anyways, "none of this is personal, don't worry about it." he replies as he turns his head to take another look, "an origin to my dislike for androids... i could say it is, though there is more to it than an experience with another."
y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ 4 years ago
@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ Her frown disappeared at his unwillingness to cooperate with her questions, coming to a conclusion that he seemed to flare a pessimistic aura within any response given, especially if that inquiry was offered by an android. Offering him yet another smile in a polite manner, her hands met and gathered on her lap, her posture exploiting that of a straight parallel as she nodded once. "I'm sure my father is a great individual, thank you for your input," She said, ignoring the puff of smoke Jinyoung had exhaled into the night. Seeing the fog from his smoke inch and disperse into the atmosphere, she kept her simple on display whilst her temple flickered that of a light blue. "I'm sorry if you've heard this before a multitude of times before me, but smoking is a bad habit."

Her calves halted their movement of swinging and unconsciously mirrored his behavior as she also crossed a leg over her other, though she could sense the awkwardness that enveloped the two in the darkness of the night. "An android partner? By chance, could this experience be the origin of which you dislike androids?" Though she had a slight feeling she had struck a nerve within him, she was prepared to tell him her excuse of just conversing to get through the night of patrolling. "You don't have to answer, Jinyoung. I understand if I'm asking too much of personal questions."
p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ [A] 4 years ago
@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ he uncrosses his leg and positions himself to sit upright. he leans forward, putting his thumbs together and fiddling with them. there is a slight breeze; his gelled locks brushes against his forehead as he attempts to think of a pathway out of this situation. though he can't really leave, his night shift ends in a few hours, and it definitely won't pass by soon. he knows that his answers are rough—well, not really rough but there have been complaints about it. it doesn't matter to him though. there is no way the android next to him would say something about his foul trait. his hands glide down his body in search for his pockets, eventually pulling out a box of cigarettes.

the sigh only makes his eyebrow arch. the android sighed at him? that's new. the corners of his lips curl a bit while he opens the box to insert a bud between his lips. "so they just tossed you out here in the open? the fact that you can't even see your father is funny. very father-like of him," he scoffs at the thought. of course a human would abandon their 'child' like this. in honesty, jinyoung most likely would do. his other hand slide into his pockets and pulls out a plastic lighter, then lighting the bud before inhaling in the cigarette. he exhales the smoke alongside a sigh, "bad experiences? i mean, you can say that." he scratches his cold nape, "i assume that you're not asking for particular cases. i'll explain one—" inhale, exhale. "i had a partner once, and it went crazy. that's the worst experience that i can think of."
y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ 4 years ago
@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ "Ah, that's a relief," She says with a comfortable gesture, genuinely believing his reassurance and confirmation of her worries, though she couldn't help but display the slightest of a frown at his tone that indicated how much he just /didn't/ want to be there, on patrol with her. Habitually, her lithe fingers comb through that of her darkly pigmented hair strands, finding it to be done whenever she was attempting to string together words with hesitation, also when she unwelcomed. It was ironic that she only performed her habit in the presence of humans, concluding that she'd felt most misplaced on their watch.

His words made her frown more obtrusive to his view, cluelessly enabling him to get inside her head with whatever comments he was allowing slip through his lips that didn't bother of her feelings. She opened to speak in retaliation, only to elicit a small, inaudible sigh as a response to his own questions that he fired at her. Did he really dislike her because of her status as an android? Did she happen to strike a nerve of his, unintentionally? Once more, she parted her tiers to attempt piecing together a reply for him to understand her struggles, "I believe that even if you're employed at the RLO, you can find compassion for androids." With no insult intended towards Jinyoung, she couldn't help but notice the enjoyment he seemed to have while somewhat degrading her portrayal as Shiah. "I am unable to see my father until my duty under the RLO is finished, unfortunately. He created me to formally bid farewell to his daughter since they had a close relationship, but the RLO found usage in my creation," she explained thoroughly, her head lowering while her calves gently swung just above the pavement ground. "Did you happen to have a bad experience with androids - if i'm allowed to ask, Jinyoung."
p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ [A] 4 years ago
@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ "you're not /bombarding/ me with anything," he replies while scratching his chin in slight irritation. he forgets that androids speak in this type of manner: polite, proper, and of course, nothing interesting. he leans his head back and focuses his gaze at the lightly scattered sky. the sky is almost pitch dark with only the full moon appearing at his corner. in honesty, he knows nothing about yoo shiah. the police department was informed by rlo's decision of preparing an identical copy of the female, but nobody explained the detail behind it. the situation still leaves with a bit of curiosity. though, he could care less about it.

"there isn't much that i can tell you about. all i know that she is the daughter of some rich businessman at rlo," he sits back up to turn at the android; radiating a cold stare at the former. "i would say she could be nice, but she /is/ from rlo. i doubt she'll be nice—" he pauses for a second and runs his gloved hand through his hair. "—to androids, i mean." his lips curl into the same false smile as before, almost twisting into a small smirk. "you're trying to portray as this girl right? why don't you ask your /father/? hm?"
y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ 4 years ago
@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ She kept her cool at his speech that was received as disinterested in the topic, albeit so, she oh-so wished to learn more. Her green pigmented eyes still possessing that of an innocent like expression whilst her lips parted to speak once more. "I'm programmed to know her -- know /my/ basic information, I am oblivious to her sentimental memories. I can provide you with her birthdate, family tree, and medications taken, but any information that is specific, I am unaware," she explained, in hopes that the man before her would attempt to sympathize with her circumstances that rendered her in the shadows of her life. "Was she kind to everyone?" her voice trailed off. "Kind to androids, do you think?"

Although she had a feeling he wouldn't have known, it was worth a shot to know. The breeze slowly had gotten stronger at that moment, her hair chaining in the current for the brief moment whilst her synthetic skin stayed immobilized, unfazed by the gust of wind, her expression remained hopeful for Jinyoung to be a witness of. She took note of his discomforted sigh, concluding that her questions were leaving him to act as such, resulting in her offering him a genuine and apologetic smile. "I'm sorry, I don't mean to be bombarding you with my series of inquiries."
p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ [A] 4 years ago
@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ it is almost ghastly on how similar the real shiah and her android self is. same face and body, but her android is obviously more stiff. the process behind this action remains a mystery to jinyoung. instead, he’ll try to form a conversation with “it”—only as a way to pass time, of course. he emits a small sigh as a way to display slight discomfort. his arm swings back and behind the bench. perhaps, he will learn something from today. maybe he will get to see the reasoning behind rlo’s decision.

“withstand... that’s pretty funny,” he mumbles under his breath and shakes his head as if it is a joke. he switches his vision from the park to the android next to him. his eyes scan her features once more—a pure robot, nothing else. “yoo shiah. everyone knows her.” he scoffs and rolls his head back, “no, i didn’t personally know her. why would i do that? don’t they give you androids some kind of coding for this?” he has seen her a few times in the past but she never interested him. nothing really did, but /people/ is never in his mind. “all i know that she was a nice kid, that’s all. i guess she was pretty? obviously, since you look the same as her.”
y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ 4 years ago
@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ Shiah glanced at Jinyoung with full intent to engage in conversation with him rather actively to show her interest, though he radiated an aura of which she knew he wouldn't reciprocate the same feeling. She watched as his limbs lay crossed over his body, figuring he was a naturally closed individual just from his physical behavior that told more than he had within the first few minutes of meeting her. It always seemed to bother her -- why everyone despised androids. Sure, they were different, but different and change were supposed to be /good/ things in our society. Our world can't just pause and stay the same consistently.

"Well, I'm hopeful that you can withstand tonight with me, Jinyoung," she said with a tilt of her head to pursue in inquiry for him. If she was going to spend a few more hours of her time with him, she'd thought of getting to know her human self a bit more personally than what others have vaguely explained to her. She was hoping that Jinyoung would at least provide her with new information, as she so desperately yearned to learn of her 'past life'. "I'm sorry if I sound informal and out of line, but did you happen to know Yoo Shiah, Jinyoung? The human form of her. I wish to know more about her, anything you have listed can help my with my research."
p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ [A] 4 years ago
@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ as habit, he immediately crosses his leg over his other thigh, meanwhile leaning back and remaining with his crossed arms. he bites his lip gently. this is going to be a long night of conversing with an android—not the best night if you ask him. he doesn't exactly /hate/ these androids. however, he imagines the world as a better place if they didn't exist. they are a useless product to society; they only bring tension and hate to the world, and there's already plenty existing. sadly, he is also the result of what these androids have inputted, and he doesn't like it.

he doesn't exactly mind being with android, but he can't help feeling disgusted near one. they're not human whatsoever; just bolts and electricity that came together to look like one. he has messed with plenty already, and it isn't going to stop unless something changes his mind. though, something that he doesn't understand is to why rlo chose to make yoo shiah into an /android/. she should be resting in a grave—not half-alive as a plastic. "people get in my way," and that is the only reason to it. "you're not a liability. i simply don't like being with someone."
y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ 4 years ago
@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ She retracted her hand after meeting with his in a meaningless handshake, only to have tilted her head at his interrupted sentence, followed by his misleading grin -- leading her to display a minor frown onto her countenance before habitually scooting over to make space for his figure as it seemed he was joining her. Shiah didn't need to utilize her scanner to believe that he was perplexed and disappointed to see that he was forced to stand by with an 'android', such as herself. She could already sense so within the distance that he kept between their figures on the said bench, not that she was expecting for him to glue himself to her frame.

"Why alone, if I could ask?" She said with her gaze diverting off into that of the park, watching the last few of the citizens quietly walking from the boundaries of the park and into the city's sidewalks; leaving only the two patrols together in the lonesome park. "Are you worried if I'd be a liability, Jinyoung? I can assure you that I won't be of a burden to your shoulders," her frown uplifted into that of a comforting smile in attempt to come to the lieutenant's aid. Though he had an obtrusive dislike towards the idea of just watching an android, she remained respectful and to not make his night worse than what he thought it'd already be.
p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ [A] 4 years ago
@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ it is that annoying, robotic tone that he hears often. that is one thing that he'll never get used to; those unpleasant voices that will never be mistaken for a human. his nose twitches after listening to what the android has to say. he glances around and takes a full rotation of the area before focusing on her dull orbs. "night on patrol duty? isn't there a better job for you? oh right... you're not—" he pauses with a sigh, then crossing his arms while maintaining his stare at her. "the pd would never let an android run on the loose like this," he mumbles.

he rolls his head back and pulls his hand out to briefly shake her asking hand. "i'm temporarily on night patrol at the park as well. a bit off for a position like me," he makes sure to add that complaint at the end, despite knowing the android probably won't understand it. "i prefer to work alone on patrolling, but since you can't leave your position, i'm stuck with a pl—with you." he sneaks in a small grin and lets go off her hand. he proceeds to slump on top of the bench next to her, but he reminds himself to keep a small distance between the two.
y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ 4 years ago
@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ Her gaze stayed static onto the moonlight albeit sensing Jinyoung's footsteps before her whilst her database roamed over the code of his voice pattern, correctly pinning him as Park Jinyoung. Parting her lips, she softly spoke as if other's were listening in, her eyes closing to bask in the subtleness of the moon's aura while turning her head to face Jinyoung with her green pigmented orbs darting at his. "I'm stationed here for the night on patrol duty, Jinyoung. The RLO didn't provide me with an owner for the time being," she willingly explained, now offering Jinyoung a polite smile.

'Park Jinyoung, youngest lieutenant in the Police Department', is what appeared in her sight, blaring in a light led color as a throb next to his cranium, as she reached her hand out for the comfort of his in a handshake. She took note of his radio that hung around the loophole of his lower half, his weaponry that took place upon the hem of his belt, sensing that he, too, was on duty possibly. Her eyes do a double take on the space around them to exaggerate her guarding priority before she reaches his gaze once again.

"May I ask of your being here, Jinyoung?"
p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ [A] 4 years ago
@y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ for the first time, jinyoung isn't put on a case that would leave anyone driving for sanity. he is the youngest lieutenant in the south korean department, or perhaps anywhere, but there are times where he /doesn't/ want to see another speck of blood in his sight. he used to gag, but he is too numb by it at this point. the headquarters instructed him to check on the park for some odd reason. he doesn't have much opinion about it; he already assigned his underlings else where, so it almost seems unfair that he got offered this job. he isn't going to complain though.

his gun slouches on the side of his belt as he got out of his car. he attempts to readjust his bulletproof vest but it isn't there. he shakes his hand every time he does that. it's already becoming a habit. he closes the car door and steps on cement floor, tapping his black shoes once or twice to make sure he's on earth. he is already greeted by a few citizens, in which he waves with that trained big smile. he proceeds forward; the park blooms under the rays of the moonlight. it is almost alluring, but jinyoung isn't a huge fanatic over significant scenery. his radio randomly calls in while he strolls, "enjoying the park, jinyoung? haha. over." he lowly growls at the taunt, "whatever, capt'. out."

the park slowly clears out; each person giggling away to wherever destination they end at. it feels dull now, with no sight of livelihood at magnificent place. he takes a step inside while the leaves rustle underneath him, but he spots someone in the distance. a woman who is sitting alone during this period of the evening, it is odd but he can't judge anyone for their decisions. though he realizes, it is an android. the gleaming synthetic skin that glows under the solid moon, and that perfect brush of hair that no human is able to achieve. well, maybe a model could.

he proceeds to move forward, and as he does that, the vision is more clear. he recognizes who it is, yoo shiah; that one android specifically and privately made for rlo. it somewhat makes sense to why she is out in the open but it isn't since she isn't with her owner, or that is what he thinks she would have. "what are you doing out here? shouldn't you be with rlo?" he speaks in his proud-police-officer-tone.
y. shiah ʳˡ⁹⁰³ 4 years ago
@p. jinyoung ᵖᵈ "This is your last guarding shift before we can move you up to your actual mission, stay put," Shiah heard from the voice that took base in her brain from an RLO member. It was their strategy of communication for her to comply with, oblivious to anyone that she'd converse with. The feedback from their side was cut off before she could respond accordingly so, accepting that of her guarding duty. It had been her fifth night covering the expanse of the park in a row, she was growing bored of it inevitably since nothing eventful ever took place in such an open space like so, due to too much exposure. Her fingers etched for something surprising, something to take her by storm just to offset the monotonous atmosphere.

Throwing away a handful of used up scraps, Shiah dusted off her hands before proceeding to take caution whilst guarding the boundaries of the park. With her weapon at her disposal and hidden well within her waistband, she leisurely enjoyed the view of the cascading moonlight. Unlike the pigments of the clear crescent, her eyes glowed with that of a green tinge as her roseate tiers curled into that of a relaxing smile. Though she hadn't known the human form of herself, she hoped that she, too, enjoyed seeing the scenery of that she was witnessing at the moment.

Shuffling her soles against the pavement, she made her way to the seat of a bench, taking her place in which with a turn of her head offered revelation of that hemisphere of the park, and vice versa. She stayed put, wondering if anyone was going to save her from that dread of boredom, to add a hue of color to her dull night.
