Graveyard

The last resting place of the dead in the territory of the Necromancers. Find occassional spirits wandering about the place and be wary at night.

@Seungri Minzy had just poised herself to pounce on the unwitting man when her nose caught something interesting. This individual didn't have the characteristic... sulfur and brimstone scent that all demons seemed to carry, but he DID carry a very faint scent of... death about him. Necromancer. Didn't seem too deadly though, and she had to stifle a chuckle at his well-meaning words. If the demons were actually brave (or stupid) enough to set foot in the graveyard, they'd have killed him right off. Mentally sighing, she slipped around the corner of the mausoleum, meaning to make a break for it.

As it always turns out, the best-laid plans of mice and men often come to naught, and they certainly did for Minzy. No sooner had she rounded the corner of the mausoleum than she slipped on a wet patch of grass and landed hard on her back, her ankle sending a scream of pain up her spine to her brain, making her swear softly. Mentally, she sent up another apology and simply lay there. Her ducking and hiding attempts were up... the necromancer was sure to have heard her.

Oddly enough, she wasn't particularly scared of necromancers. All she knew was that they could see things no one else could... spirits and ghosts, most likely. They weren't any crazier than she was... just special. Memories surfaced slowly... a kitty balloon, festivals, a young boy sitting by himself, chatting to his invisible friends... Minzy shook her head slowly and sat up, brushing her fingers through her bob in an attempt to get it to look halfway decent. Wherever that little boy was, she hoped that he was still alive and well and happy. And still chatting away with his spirit friends...

*Flashback*

It had practically been a lifetime ago, 12 years in fact. The fateful night that had forever changed her life was also the same one where she made her first friend on her own and gave away her first kiss to a little boy not too much older than her 6-year-old self.

"Minji, you have to keep close, you hear?" The little girl nodded, looking up at her mother through the eye-holes of her black-red-white mask that made the adorable child look like a little monster of sorts. And that was completely alright, given the fact that she was at a traditional festival. Her hanbok was just a little bit too long, and she almost tripped over the hem for the sixth time that evening. They had been walking around for a good hour or so without much of a break or anything catching young Minji's gaze...

That is, until they passed by a booth selling goldfish from a huge tank and Minji dug her sandaled heels in to get a better look at the little white and yellow fishes, ignoring her mother's conversation with the ahjusshi running the booth until the young woman bent down and smiled warmly at her, brushing a stray lock of hair away from the mask. "Minni, this ahjusshi is going to let you have a goldfish, and you get to pick which one you want. Do you want one?"

Minji nodded rapidly and bowed politely to the nice-looking ahjusshi, earning a pat on the head from the man. "Kamsamnida, ahjusshi," she chirped, reaching out a plump little hand for the net. It took a few tries for her to find a goldfish that she liked, and another fifteen to actually catch it. By the time the poor goldfish was netted and bagged, Minji was hungry and a bit cranky and tired, and she was sent to sit down on a bench across from a toy booth while her mother went and navigated the crowds to get some food for the two of them.

Minji settled herself on the bench and took her mask off as soon as she sat down, turning it about on her head so it looked like she had another face on the back of her head. Once she got comfortable, she held up the goldfish and grinned, chattering away to the gold-and-white creature. However, she soon heard another child-like voice coming from the other side of the tree that the bench was built against and saw a young boy sitting by himself on another bench, talking to... someone. Blinking, she crawled onto the bench next to him, holding her goldfish in her lap. "Who're you talking to?" Minji queried, tilting her head to one side.

The graveyard was normally a... Quiet place at this time of night. Contrary to belief and to what many humans and beings thought, it really wasn't that dangerous at night. Well, or at least if you were a Necromancer, the spirits here would usually leave you alone. Or try to talk at least... They were lonely beings, just as Seungri was. Which was why he was here tonight, accompanied by his usual cluster of spirits that flitted here and there excitedly to meet more of their companions.
Of course, the male didn't take the main entrance into the cemetery as it firmly shut for the night... And no sane being would want to be making a fuss and mess out of themselves for the spirits to be clustering around them, curiously. Nor did he climb the fence as that was completely unnecessary in his eyes... There was a small side gate almost hidden in the tangle of trees that overhung it in the back. Slipping through the well-oiled gate, Seungri took every precaution to close it before giving his companions to affirmative to go ahead... Go to their respective places with a slight smile on his face. As much as he loved them, they sometimes tended to be more or less on the annoying side when he was trying to talk to ghosts or people for the matter. And with some of them giving him a see you soon sort of pulse, they flitted off and leaving small and faint trails of colors behind them that made the smile widen on his face. Oh, how they were so amusing...
A few minutes later found the Necromancer just strolling along in the dark graveyard with a young female ghost as if they were just a couple on a walk in the park. Animatedly talking and sometimes using his hands and body to enhance his point, Seungri was happy to talk to her. It wasn't always that he found this ghost and to be honest... He did have somewhat of a crush on such a well-endowed and simply pretty girl. Pity that she was a ghost though... But before he could continue speaking to her, the ghost suddenly disappeared with a wide-eyed and fearful look on her face.
That cut him right off in mid-sentence, leaving Seungri more than confused. Ghosts were normally afraid of humans... So there was one here besides him? With that in mind, the Necromancer instantly began to scan the surroundings, the looming gravestones and mausoleums just making it all the harder for him to spot who it was out there. The aimless wandering about to find the him or her didn't seem necessary as there was a much easier way to find this person, all thanks to his reckless guts actually... "Hello? Is someone here? Hey, I'm not a spirit, okay?" he called out in the absolutely silent graveyard, taking a step and putting his hands up as he turned his head around... Completely unaware that whoever he was addressing was actually just behind him.

The night was cool enough for Seoul... a bit nippy, but not too cold. The trees were rustling their dead branches together with the sporadic gusts of wind that passed through their limbs, and if one was anywhere near the graveyard, it made quite the eerie combination... wind whistling through the groaning branches... And especially so close to the witching hour? NO one would dare hang around the cemetery any longer than they had to... Necromancers and spirits hung around there, and who knew whether an errant shortcut would result in one's death or disappearance?

That made no difference to one black-clad figure who lay crumpled in the shadows of an ornate mausoleum, eyes scanning the surrounding environs. Well... it DID, a little, but the figure was hardly in any condition to worry about necromancers and the like when it was so close to being one itself. As far as looks went, the person hidden beneath all that dark clothing was practically androgynous, especially compounded by the mask over the individual's face. With a wheeze, the figure ran low to the ground in a limping gait until it was in the shadows of another larger mausoleum before pulling off the mask covering it's face. "Minzy... you've done it this time..."

Another heist had gone wrong, but thank God this one wasn't connected to the police or the Fallen in any way. No, this was an independent team heist from a notorious demon war lord... who was none too happy at coming home early from a meeting and finding thieves in his house. For some reason, he sent his henchmen after Minzy instead of the others, which resulted in her getting sliced across the side with a wickedly sharp blade before she could make her escape.

Sighing, she touched her side gingerly and swore softly when her hand came away bloody. Good thing she healed relatively quickly. All she had to do was sit still and hold tight while keeping an eye out for necromancers... Speaking of which... there WAS that one time she met someone who might've been one... But that was when she was really little... Minzy shook her head of the fuzzy memories and leaned back against the dark granite, mentally apologizing to its occupants and the other occupants of the graveyard for disturbing their peace. She was just about to close her eyes and relax a little further before she heard voices and footsteps heading her way and tensed up, preparing to fight for her life...

Would it be too much to ask to apply as Jongup from B.A.P?
