@heeyeon The lake sounded extremely pleasant to Hoseok, so he quickly agreed. He would have been fine with anything, as long as he was with Heeyeon. Besides, seeing his girlfriend in a swimsuit was almost a guilty pleasure of his. It was always a treat to see her long legs be bare in the sunlight. Of course, he took notice to her stealing his shirt as a cover up for the lake, and despite teasing her and complaining that she is always taking his clothes, he loved seeing her in it. In all honesty, it was not only because she looked very attractive in it, but the way it looked large on her made him feel a bit happy. Side-by-side the two looked as though they would be the same size, but the moment she put on his clothes, it was as if she shrunk.

It was a beautiful day, sunny and hot, a perfect day for the sandy beach of the lake. Much to his surprise, it was only the two of them on the entire beach. “Weird, I wonder if this is supposed to be a private beach,” he said as he carried their bag with various items: towels, sunscreen, water, etc. Private or not, Hoseok didn’t care and shrug off the thought. They will leave if someone asks them to, no point in ruining their day unnecessarily anyway and may as well have as much fun as they could while it lasted.

Hoseok was indeed watching her, from the moment they got out of the water to the very second she laid on the hammock. He was kicking himself over nor bringing the ring with him, it would have been perfect to propose right there to her, especially with her looking so naturally beautiful. Both of them had been kissed by the sun, despite their short time in the water and Hoseok was enjoying every second of looking at her lightly tinted body. It was only when his eyes went dry that he realized that he was staring unblinkingly at Heeyeon. Wow, he felt like a creep.

***
Not even a foot out of the shower, Heeyeon had already suggested that they match. “Red? I think I brought my red tie…” The man looked off in wonder, a puzzled look formed on his face. Did he pack that one or his blue one? Or potentially both of them? He truly couldn’t remember. He was never the type to think hours on end about what he was supposed to be wearing. As long as his clothes were ironed properly and had not one stain on them, he was all set. Though, it didn’t help him that he was often too lazy to iron his clothes.

As much as Hoseok wanted to be a bit annoying and bother his girlfriend before he changed, he was afraid that he may forget the hot curling wand in her hand. It wouldn’t be fun for him to get burnt before their outing. Much to his surprise, Hoseok had packed a red blazer, something that he suspected Heeyeon had thrown in his bag on her own. As soon as he had his gray slacks and white button up shirt on, he decided to give the blazer one last iron as he waited.

“So how do you think this couple will be? They seemed pretty normal, yeah?”

The male’s dark eyes flitted back and forth between Heeyeon and his blazer as he spoke. “It should be a good time for us I think?” The blazer was now pulled on, the iron coiled back up and put to the side. “Do you want me to help you with the back?”

Hosoeok gestured to the curling iron, taking it from Heeyeon’s struggling hands. He’s done this before, helped her with curling the back of her head so that she wouldn’t have either, too curly strands or too straight. He was gentle with her hair, allowing to curl ringlets into her hair for brushing them out with his fingers so that they’re less harsh. Soon, his girlfriend’s curls were finished. “We should watch a movie if we have time later too, or if you’re not too tired,” he said while playing with the buttons of his shirt. “Should I leave these two buttons ed, or should I keep it fully buttoned?”

After the two got themselves situated, they made their way to the restaurant. Once again, Hoseok thought about bringing the ring. However, he decided against it, as he would prefer to do it when they were on a date by themselves.

The restaurant was simple, not too fancy and not too family-like. However, Hoseok couldn’t help but feel a tad overdressed for the place. Maybe it was his country roots that made him think this way, especially since everyone else seemed to be just as dressed up. The couple that they were to meet were already seated and excitedly waved them over.

“We ordered some bread and wine to share! Hope you don’t mind. We didn’t know what else you two would drink,” the husband said. “What made ya’ll come to these parts anyway?” Hoseok explained that it was merely a getaway, a way for them to be able to spend quality time together away from the city. There was no special occasion, although he did have more special intentions for the trip.

They talked, laughed and drank. Heeyeon, seeming a bit quiet compared to usual, drank one glass after the other. The more she drank, the more reserved she was. “You feeling okay, my love?” Hoseok asked her, his own rosy face drawing near to whisper.

@hoseok While the couple seemed nice, it was certainly a relief to have Hoseok by her side. Heeyeon smiled at the man as he stepped forward, resting a comforting hand on the small of her back. She remained silent as they repeated their offer to her boyfriend. It sounded nice enough and Heeyeon figured there was no harm in getting to know the people around town. The optimist in her wanted to believe that all the interactions thus far had merely been anomalies, though there was still a voice in her mind that was suspicious of this couple and their sudden intentions. She did her best to ignore that instinct.

"It sounds like fun," Heeyeon replied to her boyfriend, nodding her head a bit. "I would love to get to know more about the people around here."

That seemed to be enough to convince Hoseok as soon enough they had decided on a time and place and were bidding the couple goodbye. As the door closed, leaving them alone again, the girl shifted her attention back to her lover, almost smiling... until the man was blowing his morning breath in her face. Instantly, she frowned, immediately chasing after the elder to get her revenge though to no avail. Hoseok was simply faster.

By the time they started eating, Heeyeon had calmed down though she made sure to send a few dirty looks to the man here and there. As sweet as her boyfriend could be, he was also a pain in the sometimes.

Humming quietly as she took a sip of her coffee, the woman took a few moments to think over their options. Hunting yesterday had left her strangely tired, and Heeyeon certainly didn't have it in her to /shoot/ something again. Perhaps a bit of relaxation would be nice until their dinner later on. "Let's go to the lake. We can chill and maybe swim a bit?" She suggested with a tilt of her head. "It would be nice to put those hammocks we bought to use."

With that settled, the couple finished eating breakfast and then got ready for the day. Heeyeon dressed in the one-piece bathing suit she had brought along and (not so sneakily) stole one of her boyfriend's shirts to put over it. After packing their things for the afternoon, the two were soon off to the lake, Heeyeon opted to let Hoseok drive, despite her complaints about his driving skills.

Unsurprisingly, their time at the lake hadn't been all that chill.

It hadn't taken long for Hoseok to throw Heeyeon into the water and for the woman to pout and do all that she could to get back at him. Half an hour of playing in the water later, she called a temporary truce to their water war and dried off, throwing herself into one of the hammocks she had swung up among the trees. It would have been easy for her to doze off right there if not for this slightly unsettled feeling that kept lingering in the back of her mind... Almost as if she was being watched.

The woman tried to convince herself her boyfriend was probably peeping on her like usual.

After a couple more hours of fun at the lake, the two returned home to relax and get ready for their 'double date'. Carefully focused on curling her overgrown hair, Heeyeon's catlike eyes settled on her boyfriend as he stepped out of the shower. "Let's match tonight, Seok," She cooed with a smile, eyes sparkling. For once, the girl genuinely felt excited on the trip. "I can wear my red dress."

@heeyeon The night certainly did become “fun” as when they finished their surprisingly innocent wash, they found themselves in such an intense heat. It was intoxicating, addictive and y. Everything that Heeyeon was to Hoseok and then some. He could easily state that he could do without it, that he could love her without fulfilling such needs. But every time they found themselves panting in eachother’s grasps, Hoseok would think “no, I definitely would not pass this up.” With Heeyeon, it was always exciting, as if it were always there first time.

She was the one to fall asleep first, her bare legs caught in the sheet’s grasp. Hoseok did his best to cover her up while she slept, failing mostly, other than to cover her chest. He couldn’t help but smile at the one that was formed on Heeyeon’s sleeping face, she was too cute laying there looking as if she had no worries. Hoseok too fell asleep after hours of watching her sleeping face, listening to her heavy breaths.

What time did he sleep? What time was it now? Hoseok could not remember, nor could he care. All that mattered was that he was being awakened from his slumber, much too early. A low groan sound from his throat in response to his girlfriend’s rousing him awake. “Can’t we sleep in?” He asked in a sleepy voice. If it weren’t for the rapping at the door, Hoseok would have tried every way he could to get Heeyeon back to bed...even if it meant for his breakfast to go cold. Curiosity and the fear of his girlfriend going down alone got the best of him, causing him to finally roll his body out of the bed and throw on what /were/ to be his pajamas.

At the last step, Hoseok stopped to rub his tired eyes and then stifled a yawn, trying to not look even more unpresentable to the strangers. “What do they need?” If he were being honest, with the way everyone in this town was acting, he was uncomfortable with their sudden approach. Thus, he protectively pressed a hand against Heeyeon’s back when he approached the door.

Relief or...something washed over him at hearing their offer for dinner. The couple apologized about not having come around earlier, that they were just much too busy to come down until today. It /was/ Saturday, so they did not have work and their kids were going to be staying at their grandma’s. “I think it’d be nice to get to know the people of this town better,” the male said with a smile. His dark eyes shifted its attention to Heeyeon. “What do you think? Or do you want to just keep this trip just about us?”

Once Heeyeon agreed and the couple confirmed a restaurant with them, the two were alone once again. “It’s nice that the people here are starting to come around. I was starting to think I imagined us country folk being kind.” He closed the door and gave his girlfriend a small kiss, then blew his morning breath in her face before hurrying away. “What did you make for breakfast? It smells good. Should we just rest today so we’re not tired by dinner time or do you want to go hiking?” His voice was muffled as he shoved a piece of bacon into his mouth, one that was too big to chew. “Can also go for a drive, I saw that there’s a lake nearby, like a 20 minute drive..”

@hoseok Soaking in the water with Hoseok was much needed. With all the crazy things that had been happening around them, Heeyeon hadn't even realized how wound up she had been lately. A soft sigh slipped from her lips as his hands traveled across her body, comforting her in ways that only her partner could. Of course, Hoseok seemed to have more inappropriate plans in mind but it would be a lie if Heeyeon said that she wasn't interested in doing a little bit more than just soaking in the bath. Leaning her head back against the other's shoulder, Heeyeon tilted her chin just enough to be able to catch sight of her boyfriend's sharp features. As handsome as ever. Though she also took note of something else below the water: a growing problem that her boyfriend seemed to be facing. It made her lips twitch into a mysterious smile.

"You can wash my back... And then maybe we can have some fun?" The woman suggested, sitting up in the tub again, she turned slightly so that her hand could travel down Hoseok's chest and abs. "It has been a while... right?" She teased, though it certainly hadn't been all that long for them. Heeyeon just tended to be a little insatiable and that had only doubled with Hoseok. The man just did things to her.

As promised, their bath continued relatively innocently. With a nice back scrub for Heeyeon and lots of soaking and cuddling. Once they got out of the bath though, everything changed from cute and innocent to lustful in mere minutes. The two found themselves tangled in the sheets that night, mapping each other's bodies out expertly. Heeyeon fell asleep after with a smile on her face, finally feeling an inkling of relaxation and peace since arriving at the little cabin in the woods. She could only hope that the feeling would continue for the rest of their trip.

The next day, the woman rose early to make breakfast for them. The kitchen was stocked with groceries and she wanted to take advantage, so she took it upon herself to make some of their favorites. Half an hour later, the kitchen table had a spread of breakfast food, mostly westernized as Heeyeon was a er for a good western breakfast. Once everything had been set out, she made her way upstairs to rouse her boyfriend from his sleep.

"Seok," The woman gently called, shaking at his shoulder until he finally began to stir. "I made breakfast.. get up and we can--" Before she could finish her sentence, there was a loud knock downstairs at the front door. Her eyebrows rose. The last thing she had expected was for the isolated cabin to get any visitors. She tried not to think too hard about the goosebumps that rose upon her skin, only pecking her boyfriend's forehead and smiling softly. "I'll go see who it is," She said, before making her way out of the bedroom and heading down to the front door.

As she swung the door open, the last thing the woman had expected was to be greeted with a couple around her age, smiling brightly at her. "Uh... hi?" Heeyeon breathed with a hesitant smile and a nod of the head. She wasn't all that shy of a person, but for some reason she wanted nothing more than to escape them. However, the woman wanted to be as polite as possible. The couple introduced themselves happily, explaining that they lived on the next plot of land and had seen her and Hoseok around yesterday. When they pitched having dinner with them that night, Heeyeon, admittedly, was hesitant, but she decided to hear them out.

"Let me ask my boyfriend," The woman said softly, just as she heard Hoseok pattering down the stairs. She glanced over her shoulder to the man, waving him over. "We have visitors, Seok."

@heeyeon Hoseok gave a short laugh in amusement. “I don’t know Heeyeon, the more that I think about the blinders, the more I am into the idea.” Of course, he was only kidding, though the thought to prevent her from even thinking about looking at others did cross his mind before. It was not that he was afraid of her leaving him, it was more so for his own personal satisfaction that she would be unable to look at someone that she may think for a brief moment is attractive. As she had before, Hoseok was quite possessive over her, though, he typically kept it to himself. Why would he need to say it aloud anyways? He knew that she loved him, so why should he voice the random negative thoughts that entered his head?

His hand tightened on her hip once her lips pressed to his. He let out a satisfied, “mm,” wanting more than anything to deepen their kiss. But Hoseok held himself back, deciding that it was best for later after they both had fully unwound from the bath. And it may have been because Heeyeon already pried herself from his grasp.

“Keep it however you’re most comfortable,” Hoseok said as he watched her pull her hair up. “Although...I do really like it long, just because you pull it back. You have a pretty face, so when it’s short, sometimes your hair hides it...And I don’t know...dye it red? Before you cut it. I want to how you would look with red hair.” Heeyeon was pretty no matter what she did with her hair or what she wore for her clothes. She always seemed to make it work. Although, Hoseok enjoyed seeing her in certain ways, as they excited him (which of course he would not openly admit to). “You’re prettiest when you don’t have anything covering your face.”

Hoseok’s breath hitched when his girlfriend’s shirt slid up, revealing her perky s. “No bra today?” He commented briefly, his brown eyes lingering on them for a moment before trailing down her body to watch her hands. He merely grunted in response to her question, the slowness of her pants coming off only building up his anticipation. He salivated at the thought of touching her in my most unholy of ways, his fingers itched to remove her excess clothing for her. Her squeal broke him from his trance, his eyes darting to her face just as she sunk into the bath.

“Be careful, maybe we won’t get clean,” he responded in the same teasing tone as he unbuckled his belt. His pants made a loud thunking sound as they hit the floor from the belt buckle slamming against the tile. In Hoseok’s rush to get into the tub, he did not care about the security deposit on the house.

Covering his with his hand (mostly to not shove his junk in Heeyeon’s face as he went by her), Hoseok also settled down in the tub. He was quick to pull Heeyeon into his chest. “Let’s see, what I wanted to do…” His long fingers d up her spine, taking in the feeling of her body in a calm manner. “I don’t know. Watch a movie, read to each other...” His voice droned on as he described everything but what he wanted to really do. He could honestly state that he wanted to just sit here all night like this. , in the tub, and that would have a little more truth than reading a bedtime story.

“Maybe a bit of touching,” Hoseok continued, his voice dropping an octave as his own body began to become aroused at the thought. His hand left her back, becoming hidden by the water and suds as he rubbed her buttocks, squeezing as if for emphasis. “Maybe a bit of groping, here and there. But of course, that it is for much later.” His lips pressed against the top of her head before he leaned back with a soft sigh. His hand returned to the small of her back, as a way to seem innocent. Although his body stated otherwise. “What do you want to do tonight, my love?” Hoseok asked whilst closing his eyes, trying to push out his current impure thoughts so that they could better enjoy their bath. “Did you still need me to wash your back?”

@hoseok There was a playful smirked that tugged at her lips upon hearing her boyfriend's response. She had known that he would be a little frustrated with her words, but still, she couldn't help but find the reaction hot. Hoseok wasn't one to be easily stirred up so whenever it did happen, Heeyeon always made sure to admire it. Her boyfriend was usually very cute and sweet, but Heeyeon admittedly enjoyed the few times when he was blunt and lewd. It seemed tonight would be one of those nights and the woman could feel her body growing excited at the mere thought of getting to be underneath her partner.

"Upstairs? So eager, Seok," Heeyeon breathed, quirking an eyebrow at her boyfriend's instructions. He was obviously impatient and his tone left little room for question. Despite her teasing, Heeyeon did as she was told, carefully holding the bottle and glasses in her arms. She was a little hesitant about bringing it upstairs as the last thing she wanted was to stain the carpet with the red liquid, but she figured they would be responsible enough. At least, that was what she had thought until she felt herself being scooped up into the other's arms, a small squeal slipping from her lips involuntarily. Her eyes widened, a soft pink hue blossoming across her smooth cheeks. She nearly spilled the wine, only barely managing to balance it before the liquid tipped.

The woman laughed shyly, rolling her eyes as she was carried to the master bathroom. "Suddenly so possessive. You know I have eyes for only /one/ country boy," She responded as she was finally set down. She placed the wine and glasses onto the counter, watching as the other began to prepare their bath. Her gaze swept over the other, watching shamelessly as he undressed. Despite the many times she had seen him , she still couldn't help but admire his body every time. Her boyfriend was actual art and Heeyeon was always thankful that she had somehow ended up in a relationship with someone so perfect in every way. After the many messes that had been her previous relationships, she knew to be grateful and appreciative of her lovely partner.

"Of course. And I love you too, Jung Hoseok," Heeyeon breathed, one of her hands reaching up to cup his smooth cheek. "You're my /favorite/ person." She smiled warmly, leaning in to place a brief but loving kiss to his slick lips. Instantly, a warmth washed over her body, heavy and intense. She was aware of how much she desired the other and yet she still managed to be patient. Her body was actually rather tired after their long day and she was looking forward to getting to soak in their bath before they did anything else.

The woman pulled back, tying her long, black hair up into a messy bun. "I need a haircut," She muttered, glancing at herself in the mirror. She usually preferred a shorter style, though she had been constantly forgetting to schedule an appointment at her favorite salon. "Do you have any preferences for my hair? Should I cut it? Dye it?" She asked, tilting her head as she looked at her partner. Knowing Hoseok he would love her regardless of how she looked but still, she liked to get his input. Her fingers dropped to the edge of her t-shirt, slowly pulling it up and off her body. She casually tossed it in the hamper before moving her hands down to her worn jeans. "Enjoying the show?" She questioned teasingly as she ed her jeans, slowly wiggling them off and kicking them to the side.

Her face was even redder, a little shy about undressing in front of her boyfriend even after all of their time together. She quickly pulled off her underwear, squealing a bit as she hurried to the bathtub that was now filled. She turned off the water before sinking into the warm bath, sighing a bit as she slowly sat down, her body covered by the many bubbles. "Join me, babe," Heeyeon spoke softly, peering at him with her catlike dark eyes. "And you can tell me what you wanted to do tonight," She teased, laughing softly as she had a feeling that she knew all too well what Hoseok had planned.

@heeyeon Hoseok could not help but grin in response to Heeyeon's calling him a . Mostly because he knew how much she enjoyed when he was being one. And due to the fact that he couldn't deny it. He was a at heart when it came to her. "Ah, you're right. God is watching us, we must be respectful until marriage huh?" Hoseok gave a large, bright smile, one that was wide enough that it made his nose involuntarily scrunch up. His eyes met his girlfriend's sultry gaze, which caused his heart to skip a beat.

God, she knew how to into his head. He loved it, but did not show on his face just how her gaze turned him on. He had to pretend, especially since they were about to it. Though, Heeyeon did not help him in any way, what with the way her fingertips teased against his body. "It is about time. And that bathroom was huge, did you see it? Enough space for us to..../relax/," Hoseok emphasized on the word, making it sound all the more suggestive.

With the ease that they fell into such a conversation, one would not have thought that they had a bad time since they had stepped foot into this town. Once they settled at the table and started to eat, Hoseok had become as relaxed as he was hoping for the trip. It was supposed to be like this, care-free, romantic, nothing to interrupt them. Hoseok sipped on his wine, his cheeks rounding at his girlfriend's compliment. "I am glad you enjoy it, and yeah we can go to the lake tomorrow. You brought something to swim in, correct?"

Hoseok's eyes darken in response to Heeyeon's teasing. He knew she wasn't being serious, but he truly was bothered by the thought. As calm as Hoseok tended to be, he was easily jealous, though he could typically hide the green monster. Heeyeon was much too beautiful, and he often found others checking her out, even with him standing there. It was frustrating at times, but all that mattered was that she was his, and that no matter what he figured those men wouldn't love her like he did. He shoved a mouthful of pasta into his mouth as if it would hide his change in demeanor. However, his next words showed just how he felt. "After tonight, I don't think I will have a problem with you leaving me for one of these men."

Hoseok's lips tugged into a smirk as he rose his wine glass to his lips once more. Two could play at that game, Heeyeon wasn't the only one that could be a tease. Though, Hoseok had a habit of being a bit blunt when it came to topics such as these. "Is there anything else you would like to do tomorrow? What if it's too cold for the lake?" He asked as he finished up his plate then started to clear everything once they both were done.

"Take the bottle of wine and glasses. We can finish them upstairs." Hoseok said to Heeyeon as he started to toss the dishes into the sink, before deciding ' it' and leaving them for later. The more he thought of that bath with Heeyeon, the more Hoseok became impatient. He had no time to wash the dishes, nor the patience. And it wasn't going to kill them to leave it for later.

Instead, Hoseok took Heeyeon into his arms, picking her up so that she was curled into his chest and planting a kiss square on her lips. Of course, it was quite sudden, nearly making her tip the wine onto the floor. "So you have a thing for all country-boys hm? And here I thought you just had eyes for me." He said as he carried his long-legged girlfriend up the stairs, finally placing her down once they reached the master bathroom. "Shall I get you those blinders that horses have so that you can only look at me?" He asked as he leaned over to turn the water on and then searched for the soap to make it bubbled filled.

Once all they had to do was wait, Hoseok slid his shirt up and over his head before pressing his hands into the sides of Heeyeon's face to act as the horse-blinders. "Hm, I bet you could get used to that. I'll invest in some," his smile was wide as he continued with his playful teasing. His hands soon trailed down Heeyeon's face, taking in the details of how dipped and curved, down to her neck, chest, then her waist. "I love you a lot, you know that right?"

@hoseok Gaze raising to peer at her boyfriend, Heeyeon smiled as she felt their fingers lacing together, giving his hand a gentle squeeze. She followed him into the house, pulling off her dirtied boots and setting them to the side. "Yes, pasta sounds good. Gonna do all the cooking for us today?" She asked teasingly, tilting her head with that playful twinkle in her eyes. The woman lightly rolled her eyes as she felt her boyfriend's hand patting at her bottom as he walked off. "," She responded jokingly, sticking her tongue out once the man had looked back at her. She followed him into the kitchen not long after, watching as he got out all the ingredients they would need, admiring how handsome he looked while doing so.

"Oh?" Heeyeon replied, quirking an eyebrow as he spoke. Despite his innocent face and manners, her boyfriend was rather ed at heart. She liked that side of him quite a bit, but she also liked teasing him about it. "Hm, let's see. Do I want to take a bath with you... or do I just want you to scrub my back?" The woman mused aloud as she leaned against the counter. She lifted one of her hands, twirling her fingers in her dark locks in mock thought. "I don't know, /Seok/. Don't you think this should be an innocent trip?" She teased, biting on her pink lower lip as she peered at him through her long eyelashes. It was hard to rile her boyfriend up, but Heeyeon couldn't help but try to do so. There was nothing she loved more than seeing how worked up she could make the man.

With a nod of the head, Heeyeon grabbed the pasta, bringing it over the sink to drain it. With that, she set it to the side and then grabbed a couple of plates from the cabinet. As she waited for Hoseok to finish up, she wrapped her arms around him from behind, placing a gentle kiss on the back of his shoulder. "We'll take a bath together tonight with bubbles. This is supposed to be our romantic vacation," Heeyeon whispered, fingers dancing along her boyfriend's waistline. "It's about time we had some romance, right?" She giggled, smiling slightly as she pulled away just as the food had finished cooking and grabbed their plates.

Putting together plates of food for both of them, Heeyeon carried them to the table, setting them down. "Let's have some wine," She suggested with a smile, grabbing two of the glasses from the cabinet next. She hummed quietly as she looked over the choices of wines, finally deciding on a bottle of red wine. With her opener, she pulled the cork out and then poured them two hefty glasses, sighing as she smelled the sweet aroma of the red liquid. "Dinner time," Heeyeon cheered, sauntering over to the table and taking a seat. She began to dig into her pasta, a bit at the flavor that filled .

"It's so good, Seok. You did a great job," She complimented as she took a sip from her wine glass. For the day to have started out so horribly, it seemed that now everything was back to normal. Things had finally fallen into place once again. "Maybe tomorrow, we can go swimming at that lake?" She suggested with a cheerful nod. "I'm not that good of a swimmer though... You might have to give me some tips." Growing up in the city, there hadn't been many opportunities to swim, but she knew the basics, and still, she wanted to at least check out the lake. "That is... /if/ you won't be jealous if some of the small town guys see me in my bathing suit," She teased, laughing a bit. "You know I have a thing for /country boys/." It was all in good fun, as she knew that she only had eyes for Hoseok, but she liked to poke and prod at him sometimes because he was always so calm and sweet. Who didn't want to see their partner a little jealous sometimes?

@heeyeon Upon hearing Heeyeon’s response to his “reason” for having her walk ahead, Hoseok was relieved. Thankfully she bought it, did not see through his facade, oblivious to the tension that he hid. It even issued a small laugh, as on a good day, she would indeed be instructed to walk ahead for ed intentions. “Mm, I do enjoy that fine behind of yours,” Hoseok said with a suggestive smile forming on his face. If he wanted her to believe that this was the true reason for their position, then he was to play the part. Though, it was not all that hard.

Heeyeon was quick to put the poor creature to rest. She was so careful about it, causing Hoseok to nearly forget that she was the one to put the ending shot in its small body. Hoseok did not dare try to intervene, not when she stated that she wanted to be the one to bury it. Instead, he crouched beside her, his fingers rubbing small circles into her back as she rested the squirrel into its grave. He mumbled a small prayer with respect to taking a creature from the world and stood only when Heeyeon was finished. He rested a hand against her head, pulling her in so that he could press his lips to her temple, pausing a moment before he pulled away.

“I am proud of you, you did a good job Heeyeon,” he mumbled in response to her suggestion. “But I hope that it’s not really a skill you need to have. I hope we’re never desperate enough to have to hunt for our food.” Hoseok hoisted the guns back onto his shoulder before Heeyeon’s fingers laced between his. They were dirtied from patting down the soil of the animal’s grave.

Hoseok wasn’t sure if he could eat, the bloodied animal made him not have an appetite, but he may as well due to not having eaten the whole day. “Time sure went by fast today huh,” he said as they entered the house. The rifles were securely placed by the door, standing up in a way that they wouldn’t fall. “Should we have pasta? We bought some to make right?” Hoseok’s hand drifted from Heeyeon’s so that he could check the groceries they had bought the day before. Of course, he gave her bum a light pat before he moved away. A satisfied smile formed on his face. His head turned to see Heeyeon’s reaction to it. He may have said he was checking it out before to distract her from his true thoughts, but now that they were home safe, Hoseok couldn’t help himself.

After washing his hands in the kitchen, Hoseok found the items that they had bought. “Here we go.” Without a second thought, he rummaged through the kitchen in search of everything that they would need to prepare dinner. “So...you said ‘we’ for that bath.” One would think that he wasn’t traumatized minutes before with how quickly his mind had gotten distracted. It was of no surprise, it /was/ to be a romantic getaway. “Did you want me to wash your back?” He asked as he stirred the sauce the was heating on the stove. The faster they ate, the faster his idea of romance would flourish.

Or Heeyeon could have said it just to play with his head. Hoseok could always be easily teased for things like this. Though he always seemed pleasant and a respectable gentleman, he certainly was a man, a at heart. So Hoseok was trying his best to possibly be innocent about it, although his higher tone may have made it obvious as to what was on his mind. For all he knew, Heeyeon meant that they would bathe separately. “Can you drain the pasta and the get some plates? It should be ready soon.”

@hoseok The man's words would have certainly made Heeyeon feel better had she been able to fully register them. Her boyfriend had always been able to make her feel better, but not even he seemed to be able to find the words to make her feel better. Her eyes were wide, suddenly feeling so cold. If she hadn't been so frozen in place, perhaps she would have run off. Her mother had always told her to trust her gut feeling for when something felt off, it usually was /off/. But Heeyeon couldn't bring herself to move, instead she focused her gaze on Hoseok, waiting for him to say or do anything. She often found comfort in him, so she was just waiting for him to somehow explain it away to her.

"Let's just um..." She paused, looking down to the poor squirrel she had shot just earlier. "Let's take him home. We can bury him in the backyard there," She answered, holding the squirrel closer. Her teeth sank into her lower lip as she stood up fully again, beginning to walk alongside her boyfriend back towards the cabin. She could feel the man's nerves, watching as he sped ahead of her. It both validated what she had felt earlier but also made her all the more nervous. Hoseok was not the type to get high strung easily, so the man's reaction told her that he was shaken up about something too. Though, Heeyeon considered, it could have been just his reaction to the fact that she'd shot a squirrel and not that he had felt anything.

Though she wasn't sure what made her feel worse for she did not want her boyfriend to see her as some type of murderer.

Her gaze shifted up as the man instructed her to walk in front of him. She quirked an eyebrow, a gentle laugh slipping from her lips at his reasoning. "That's a little ed, no?" She replied jokingly but walked ahead of him anyways. It at least seemed that he had gone back to normal, so Heeyeon was able to calm down. If Hoseok was relaxed again then perhaps nothing had been wrong in the first place. The woman felt more at ease as she walked back towards the house, following the trail they had taken on their way there. Well, as at ease as she could be while carrying a dead squirrel. Now that she had calmed down, she felt pretty bad about having killed it, although Hoseok's explanation earlier made her feel better now.

Perhaps the world was truly just that black and white.

It wasn't long before they got back to the cabin and Heeyeon paused in the backyard. "Here, let's bury it here," She said, before glancing to a shovel that was leaned up against one of the wooden walls. "I should be the one to do it... I killed it," She explained, giving a nod of the head. It was her way of making things right. It was like she was completing the life and death cycle with a proper burial. She placed the squirrel on the ground before walking over to grab the shovel. She returned quickly, pushing the tool down into the ground and tossing the grass and dirt to the side. It took her a minute or so to carve out a small hole, once she did she set the shovel down. She got on her knees again, bowing her head for a few seconds in silence. She then picked up the squirrel, carefully placing it in the hole.

Once the woman had covered the hole up, patting the dirt down, she approached her boyfriend, giving him a gentle smile. "I'm thankful in a way to it..." She mused aloud, gaze landing on the dirt patch where they had buried the squirrel. "Maybe thanks to its sacrifice, my shooting skills will come in handy some day?" She suggested idly, though she did not really think shooting would save her life someday. Heeyeon turned to face Hoseok again. "Let's have dinner and then we can take a warm bath. It's been a long day, Seok," She breathed, lacing their fingers together and beginning to pull him into the home.

This time, she was completely oblivious to the several pairs of eyes that had watched their entire 'funeral'.

@heeyeon Hoseok watched as his girlfriend made the necessary adjustments to her posture whilst holding onto the shotgun. It was a bit clumsy at first, but with further instruction, Heeyeon was holding it like a pro. She really looked like the type of woman that could hold her own when on a hunt at the moment, which made Hoseok wonder. Would Heeyeon be able to shoot and kill a living creature? He knew that he would not want to, he always had a bad habit of hesitating when it came to hunting. No matter how well he could shoot moving targets, like discs and plastic birds, he could never bring himself to actually shoot a living creature anymore. There was something terrifying about seeing the life leave the eyes of an animal, even if you are to use every part of their bodies.

As they walked, Hoseok suddenly heard the young woman’s terrified voice. “What was what?” He asked as he looked over in her direction. The discomfort and fear was apparent in her face, but Hoseok hadn’t felt as though they were being watched. However, he also did not want his girlfriend to believe that he was not trusting her judgement. She had every single reason to be paranoid, what with the birds and the people in the town acting extremely suspicious. “Do you want to go back to the house then? I don’t feel like anyone is around, but I also do not want you nervous being out here, Heeyon.”

Not even a second after Hoseok mentioned going home, Heeyeon became distracted by a nearby little squirrel. “I mean...if you would like,” he stated as his dark eyes watched how she stood, making sure that she remembered just how she was to be standing. He took in a sharp breath at the loud boom of the shotgun, his hand immediately whipping out to hold onto his girlfriend’s elbow as it seemed like she was about to fall back. “Be careful now, that’s why you’re supposed to kind of squat.” She had done it though. Crazy. Heeyeon barely hesitated when it came to killing the creature. Never would he had imagined she would have actually pulled the trigger.

“It was, but it cannot be helped, someone or something else would have nabbed him if you didn’t.” This was something Hoseok’s father used to say whenever he would sympathize with whatever animal that was hunted. It did make Hoseok feel better when he was younger, since it was true, but that was typically for larger game or birds. There was not much they could do with a squirrel, since they usually had too many small bones and could possibly be filled with disease. “...do you want to bury h-”

This time, Hoseok felt it. The sudden gut wrenching feeling that they were being watched, not just being watched, but the stare of whatever eyes fell upon them had malicious intent. His head snapped up to look around, being as careful as possible to not let the fear show on his face. But then, as quickly as the feeling came, it went away, leaving Hoseok mildly confused, and possibly a bit terrified. Was it just that they were in a set of woods he did not know? He was afraid that something big, like a bear or mountain lion would come around as they hunted, seeing as to how he did not know what predators prowled the woods. His eyes soon found Heeyeon again. “ Shall we bury him, and then we can go a bit deeper into the woods before heading back? Or do you want to take him home with us?”

Hoseok awaited Heeyeon's decision, fulfilling whichever that she had decided. As soon as they began to walk, Hoseok had that feeling again, the one where he felt that someone was watching with malicious intent. His eyes darted everywhere as they walked, Heeyeon starting to lag behind with his distraction causing him to walk faster. Hoseok stopped, his breath heightened as he turned to see where she went. “Walk in front of me,” he said, forcing a smile onto his face. “I like watching you walk.” Hoseok said, trying his best to sound smooth. In actuality, he wanted his eyes on her the whole time, in fear that the moment he looked away, something would drag Heeyeon away. With her walking ahead of him, he would at least know if something were to come at her. And if something came from behind, he would prefer that whatever it was would take him instead.

@hoseok Despite her normally excitable personality, Heeyeon actually paid close attention during Hoseok's explanation of the safety concepts. She couldn't help but smile though as her boyfriend cupped her cheeks, commenting on her beauty. Her face began to feel warm, cheeks flushing. Despite how often Hoseok gave her compliments she would always clam up like this. Her boyfriend was just so sweet to her and quite frankly, she wasn't used to such treatment. Nonetheless, she pulled herself out of her lovestruck stupor and paid close attention to the instructions she was given. Though it was a little hard to pay attention considering her boyfriend looked extra handsome when he was holding a gun for some reason. There was something about how manly he looked when holding something so dangerous with such responsibility.

The girl stood in front of him, carefully positioning herself in the manner that he instructed. The metal of the gun felt heavy in her hands, surprisingly weighing her down. It was completely foreign to her and she couldn't help but feel a little nervous. After all, for the first time she was holding a weapon... something that could kill a person in a matter of seconds. But she also felt the a sense of security, as if she was extra safe now. Something in her gut clenched, telling her that she /needed/ to learn how to use this. It was weird as Heeyeon was sure she would never actually /need/ to use a gun, but after the anxiety she had been feeling because of the weird happenings on the property, extra security couldn't hurt.

Her finger stretched, grazing over the safety. "Yeah, I can reach it," She replied, though she didn't release it. She knew Hoseok would be upset if she did, and the last thing she wanted was for their little lesson to end early. She was afraid that Hoseok wouldn't offer to teach her again if she did something irresponsible.

The woman followed behind him, though most of her attention was focused on carrying the gun. She did not want to drop it because she was afraid of shooting something on accident, even though the safety was still on. Though as they walked, Heeyeon couldn't help but feel this strange feeling... as if she was being watched. She glanced over her shoulder briefly, only to see nothing so she tried to shrug it off. She figured she was just still on edge after the bird incident this morning. But the feeling persisted. Then, there was a ruffle in the bushes, and Heeyeon's head whipped towards the sign. Her heartbeat sped up, a gasp slipping from her lips.

Directly to the right of them was a rapidly moving shadow. Heeyeon paused, looking to her boyfriend. "Did you see that?" She asked, voice quivering a bit. The shadow had been large, too large to be a deer. In fact, it was shaped like a human... Heeyeon wondered if someone actually had been watching them. "Maybe I'm just paranoid, Seok... But I kept feeling like someone was looking at us." She breathed, biting on her lower lip a bit as she thought. It made no sense, as no one would have any real reason to watch them, but then again not a lot of things had been making sense lately.

"Oh!" Heeyeon gasped, gaze shifting to a small squirrel that was paused just ahead of them. "Should I try to shoot it?" She asked, glancing at her boyfriend. "I feel a little... bad." She smiled sheepishly but still, she carefully took the gun off her shoulder and got in the position just like her boyfriend had taught her. Admittedly, she felt a little silly but she took a deep breath in, aiming the gun at the squirrel and taking the safety off. She didn't dare to move as she lined the squirrel in her crosshairs. Not even a full second later, she pulled the trigger, releasing a heavy breath as her finger grazed across it. The sound of the shot was loud and the gun was powerful, causing her to stumble back just a bit.

"Oh wow! Let's see if I got it!" She cheered, turning the safety back on and hurrying over to where the squirrel once sat. "Look Seok!" She smiled brightly, picking up the poor thing's body. "I got it! It was really cute..." She said, starting to feel the guilt trickle in. But before that could fully happen, she got that strange feeling again... Heeyeon really began to consider that they were being watched.

@heeyeon Heeyeon's face was a bit red, especially around her eyes, making it clear to Hoseok that despite his explanation, she was still a bit afraid. He had no other way to reassure her, nor did he want to bring up that she was crying. Obviously, if she had done so in the privacy of the bathroom, she wanted him to not know. Besides, he too was uncertain if his explanation was enough to put himself at ease. The birds...it felt more than just a coincidence, but it also did not make sense for someone to be threatening them.

Her smile was more than reassuring, pushing away his darker thoughts on the matter. Heeyeon had such a beautiful smile, though her reason for smiling was rather hilarious. "Yes, you'll learn today. I mean, might as well right? We are in the woods." Hoseok pressed a kiss to his girlfriend's smiling mouth before they headed down to the basement. There, they found a row of shotguns. It was a bit eerie that the guns were so easily accessible, but Hoseok did not think too hard about it. Plenty of people liked to hunt on trips such as these, or at least learn to.

After checking the guns, and making sure that they were safe to use, the couple headed out. It was strange, holding a gun again. It had been a while since Hoseok had lived the city since starting college. Of course, he had hunted with his father on breaks, but even then, it was rare for him to even shoot. "Well, you need to learn how to hold the gun so that you don't shoot your eye out. But I want to get a bit further in, don't want to risk you accidentally shooting a person," Hoseok joked as if there would be anyone nearby.

"You don't need to know how to shoot to own a farm, we can have one that just has cows and chickens. Fresh milk and eggs for us." Hoseok grinned, tilting his head back to look at Heeyeon as he spoke. It would be a dream, living away from other people, just the two of them. Nobody would bother them unless they really wanted guests to come and visit for the holidays. It was something that Hoseok had considered especially if Heeyeon agreed to his proposal while they were on the trip. He wanted her to live her biggest dreams with him.

After a good amount of walking, Hoseok stopped and leaned the guns against a tree. "Alright, so I am going to tell you a few safety things. So typically, you should use safety glasses when shooting....but uh...we don't have any. Second, you're to keep the safety on at all times, less you are actively about to shoot. And never, please never, point your gun towards yourself or another person. That is dangerous and it's a weapon. And I don't want you ruining your pretty face or shooting me." Hoseok cupped Heeyeon's cheeks briefly, to emphasize on his very much liking her face not marred with a bullet.

"Now, the basics is your stance when shooting," he commented as he turned away to pick up one of the guns. Hoseok was careful about keeping the shaft of the gun tilted away from him, towards the sky in case the gun suddenly went off. He showed her the proper way to aim and shoot, though he left the safety on, as he was not going to waste any bullets just to show her. "Okay and now I want you to try, and then we can get started yes?"

Hoseok carefully placed the gun in her hands, watching as she took her stance for shooting. He leaned down to pat her thigh, "Bend your knees a little, the gun kicks back so you will need a stronger stance when standing," he said lightly bringing her knees forward and then pushing them apart a bit to make her feet be shoulder with. "There you go, and then are you able to reach the safety with your finger? To release it?"

Once they went over the basics, Hoseok allowed Heeyeon to hold her own gun as they walked through the woods. He would show her how to load it, as it was not safe to walk around with a loaded gun, when they found something worth shooting at. It would be fun for her to maybe find something like a deer, instead of a bird. If Hoseok was being honest, he was done with seeing dead birds for the day, and would rather not risk being around one when cleaning it. In case it really was a disease-causing them to act the way that they have.

@hoseok As Heeyeon sat on the bed, she tried to calm herself down. Her hands were shaking as she lifted them to cover her ears, breaths labored. She felt like she was on the verge of a panic attack but she did all that she could to avoid it. She was scared less though. It felt like she was in an actual horror movie and that this was only the first of many bad omens to come. Heeyeon wanted nothing more than to return to the city and get far away from this place... but she couldn't bring herself to suggest it. After all, Hoseok had gone through all the trouble to rent this place out for them, she didn't want to ruin it by throwing a fit because of some strange happenings. Thus, as much as Heeyeon knew it had to be more than just the birds being weird, she forced herself to nod her head and go along with that explanation.

Once the birds had finally stopped flying into the window, Heeyeon dropped her hands from her ears. Hoseok still seemed to be so calm, so confident even after something so terrifying had happened. It made the woman consider that maybe she was overreacting. Perhaps, this happened more often that one would think and that she was only freaking out because she was from the city. That was certainly a comforting thought, even if it was ridiculous and didn't quite make sense. Heeyeon meekly nodded her head as Hoseok ushered her to get dressed, heading into the bathroom.

It was only once she was in the bathroom that she started quietly crying. She had never been so afraid. The fat tears ran down her face as she washed up. Though when it came time to put on her clothes and head out, she forced herself to stop crying, splashing her face with cold water. "You're fine, Heeyeon. It's all fine." She muttered to herself, pulling her hair up into a ponytail before she headed out of the bathroom and instead went down to the living room to wait.

Her warm gaze landed on her boyfriend as he came down the stairs. For the first time that day, Heeyeon smiled. He was actually going to teach her how to hunt! "Really?" She blurted, eyes wide. "Let's go then!" She said, clapping her hands eagerly. She hurried over to him. It didn't take them long to find two shotguns in the basement of the cabin, and Heeyeon let Hoseok carry both of them over his shoulders as he was the more experienced one. She followed behind him as they headed outside into the forested area beside the cabin.

"So what's first?" Heeyeon said, not able to hold back her excitement. It was a complete 180 from how she'd been feeling earlier. "Maybe if I get good we can move back to your hometown and have our own little farm." She suggested, giggling just a little. "I know you're a big softie though, so you won't want to kill anything."

@Ahn Heeyeon Hoseok awoke with a start. He was confused as to the racket that Heeyeon was making, and was much too tired to understand exactly what Heeyeon needed. He sat up slowly, rubbing his tired eyes. "What's happened...? Did you get y-" He was about to ask if maybe her time of the month came. Maybe she needed to get the necessary sanitary supplies? Hoseok only stopped trying to ask when he saw the crimson colors splattered on the windows.

"What the hell is that," carefully, he took the woman's arm in his hands, pulling her down to make her sit on the bed. Slowly, he slid out of the bed, the tips of his fingers caressing her arms as he moved away from her. Why was he so unnerved by this blood? Why did it make his skin crawl so terribly? Yet, he could not show Heeyeon that he felt skeptical over what he was seeing. That the fact that both windows had blood all over them...it seemed too odd to just merely be a coincidence.

"I-I'll clean this up...maybe there is just something wrong with the birds here. Probably some sort of disease." He stated confidentally, yet he could not fight the tightening sensation in his stomach. He felt that he was to get sick any second. As his body wanted to get rid of the thought of the possible truth. It was too obvious...far too obvious that someone possibly threw them. But he didn't want to scare Heeyeon with that. He didn't want to have their trip ruined over something like this. Something that could literally be nothing.

He ushered her to get her clothes and get ready for the day as he struggled to get supplies together and clean up the windows. They were to sleep in here, so he'd rather just do this, and then close the blinds so that the crack wasn't visible. Hopefully, the security deposit wasn't taken by him because of something that he did not cause.

Once he finished the cleaning and got dressed, he went to find his girlfriend. "Heeyeon-ah!" He called out as he exited the bedroom and went downstairs. "Let's go teach you how to hunt today," he said when he found her standing in the living room. It was a good time to teach her to do so, especially with the crows having freaked them out. What if something was out there? Something that they needed protection from?

@Jung Hoseok Of course, it came as a surprise to her partner when she had inquired about the possibility of being taught how to use a gun. However, Heeyeon did her best to keep her facial expression steady, even as she saw the pure confusion form on her boyfriend's face. It was something she'd always been secretly interested in though. Her interest had only grown after hearing Hoseok's reluctant accounts of his hunting trips with his father. She wasn't surprised at all when he first said that he had never enjoyed them since he was such a pacifist in every part of his life. On a day to day basis, it was usually up to Heeyeon to be the 'bad guy' between them as her loving boyfriend would sometimes fall prey to scammers and the like. Not that she minded though - she quite enjoyed how sweet and soft he was. It was one of her favorite things about him.

Much to Heeyeon's surprise though, Hoseok gave in relatively easily. She had assumed that she would have to beg much more to get him to agree to it. Though she had always thought that in the end, she'd get him to do it - the girl was proud of her ability to make her boyfriend give in to her desires. Instantly, a bright smile spread across her face as she let out a quick, "Yay!" However, the smile soon faltered into a pout as her marshmallow caught fire and her boyfriend blew it out, teasing her as he did so. So, she was a little careless when it came to making smores, but that didn't mean she would show the same carelessness when handling a gun of course! "This is an isolated incident, Seok! I'll be responsible with a gun!" She assured, batting her eyes at him cutely.

Heeyeon, admittedly, hadn't given much thought to exactly /where/ they'd get the guns from. Perhaps her excitement had rendered her unable to fully think out the plan. She figured there would be guns in town, however, she was also not quite looking forward to having to go into town again. If it was up to her, they would simply not pass by town again until they were in the car, finally going home to the city. Luckily though, her boyfriend guessed that there maybe some guns in the house, which was a mildly unsettling thought but also came as a relief.

"Hey!" The girl suddenly blurted in response to that horrid nickname that her boyfriend loved to call her. It was a bad habit of his that she had never been able to break. Just because she was from the city, he loved to see her as some type of fragile princess. "I'm no princess, you know? I used to be quite the athlete in high school!" She pointed out as she grabbed the graham crackers and chocolate. She turned towards her boyfriend, childishly sticking her tongue out at him in defiance as she carefully put together her s'more. Once she took a bite of the sweet treat though, it was enough to forget about her annoyance with Hoseok, causing a warm smile to spread across her face.

The night passed by with ease, which was certainly a relief considering the unsettling moments they'd had earlier. Heeyeon filled herself up on s'mores, and once she was satisfied, she dragged Hoseok upstairs to the bedroom, forcing the man to get ready for bed so that they could cuddle. Unsurprisingly, all of the events of the day had left her quite worn out, so as soon as they got into bed with their arms around each other, her eyes fluttered shut and she knocked out.

However, Heeyeon had always been a light sleeper. Something that had been an annoyance for the vast majority of her life as any little sound - usually false alarms - tended to wake her up.

For once though, it seemed to be something serious though.

In the early hours of the morning, there was a heavy bang against the window, and then another, and another. Instantly, the girl's eyes flew open, her heart pounding anxiously in her chest. She glanced to her boyfriend who was still fast asleep. "It's fine. Just check it out." She whispered to herself, slowly sliding out of bed and pulling on her robe. She crept over to the bedroom window, where she saw a splatter of blood. Her eyes widened even further and she looked down, peering at a deformed body on the ground beneath the window.

A dead crow.

She then turned to the other window in the bedroom, seeing yet another splatter. She hurried over, looking down out the window again. Yet another crow. Her thoughts were running wild, and her heart was beating out of control. It only got worse as she saw something, or someone rather, standing there. Her fearful gaze landed on them, only for the being to instantly bolt. It all happened so fast, that the woman wasn't even quite sure of what she had seen. A person? A deer maybe? Though deep down, she thought she had a feeling.

Heeyeon shuffled back over to the bed, shaking her boyfriend's arm. "Seok, Seok!" She called, trying to wake him up. "S-Something bad has happened."

@Ahn Heeyeon He could tell that she was still bothered by the dead animal, despite her light teasing. All he could do was smile at her, try to reassure her that everything was okay. Taking her hand in his, he pressed Heeyeon's fingers against his cheek, standing like that just for a moment. He wanted to take it in, this brief moment of affection. "I love my little city girl too," he murmured softly, the smile slowly fading as he dropped her hand. It just reminded him of the question he was to pop her during this trip, and it made him all nervous once again, especially when she mentioned their matching pajamas.

She didn't put her clothes away right? He could not remember if her pajamas were possibly hiding the box that he placed in the drawer. He knew he hid it with his own clothes, but did he pile hers in there too? "Of course we can wear our matching pajamas. The new ones right? I bet you'll look extra cute in them," Hoseok tried to hide his unease of her finding the box, wanting to not make her uncomfortable. What if she thinks he is worrying that something odd is happening? He didn't want to make her more anxious than she already was.

Hoseok was quick about making the fire. He wanted to get up the stairs quick to make sure that the box was most definitely in a safe spot. He entered the room just as Heeyeon pulled her shorts up her legs and went into the master bathroom. His eyes trailed after her, enjoying the way she looked in the set. He brought his attention to the bureau, pulling his shirt off as he double check that everything was safe. The box was there, still hidden, and thankfully Heeyeon still had her belongings in her bag. With this relieving fact, Hoseok relieved himself from his jeans and slid on the pajama pants from their couple set.

He paused, the hairs on his arms raised in alert, as if someone was watching him. It wasn't Heeyeon, not with the bathroom door partly closed. She wouldn't be able to see him from there. The window. Maybe he was just a bit paranoid, but the drapes being wide open possibly made him felt like he was being watched. He pulled the pajama shirt on, then moved to close the heavy drapes, seeing what looked like a raccoon run outside. He had flinched, but thankfully the woman was still in the bathroom when he did.

"," he mumbled to himself as he made his way down the stairs.

Hoseok draped an arm around his girlfriend when she finally made her way down, pulling her close against his chest, despite her trying to roast a marshmallow. "I will in the morning, she needs to see these rooms with the daylight. These lamps don't do it justice."

Heeyeon was right, his mother would love to see this house. She would also probably yell at him for renting out such a grand place for the week, but not having bought a full house in the country. She hated that he lived in an apartment, even though it was most convenient for him, with work and all. Also, knowing his mother, she will probably pester him about taking a woman he isn't married to on such a beautiful trip.

"A gun?"

A look of confusion came across his face at the mention of it. Heeyeon had never shown an interest in learning of such things before, or maybe he never bothered to ask, but he was not sure how to answer the question. He has hunted before, and he was quite good at it. He and his father used to go on hunting trips all the time, mostly because his father thought men were not men if they did not know how to shoot. It was a country bumpkin kind of thought. His father had also hated how Hoseok did not enjoy the killings, even if they used it for food and extra money when his was younger. It was strange how his family worked, quite honestly.

"I guess I could show you, but it's really dangerous to handle a gun...besides I don't know where we will find one." He glanced at the fire and noticed that, although she was being careful, Heeyeon's marshmallow caught on fire. The stick was taken from her fingers in a hurry to blow out the fire. "Be careful, you could burn this whole house down. I can't even trust you with a marshmallow, I am not sure I can trust you with a gun." He and ate the burnt goo, knowing that Heeyeon loved her marshmallows roasted perfectly.

"Fine. We will have to go to town to find guns," a thought then crossed his mind, "I wonder if there are some in the cellar here."

It was a strange thought, but he would check in the morning for it, just so that it could possibly save them a trip to town. And save Heeyeon from her obvious unease from these town folk.

He stuck a new marshmallow on the stick, pressing his sticky lips against her temple. Some of the marshmallow bits that were stuck to his mouth transferred onto her skin and bits of her loose hair. "You look adorable in those you know," he commented on her pajamas. He twirled the stick with the marshmallow over the flames, pulling it away when it was perfectly browned. "Grab your chocolate and crackers Princess Heeyeon." A grin formed on his lips at the little nickname. She usually hated when he called her that.

@Jung Hoseok It was Hoseok who got out of the car first, having instructed the girl to wait there. There wasn't much Heeyeon could do other than listen. It was safe to say that she was in a state of utter shock. Since she was from the city she didn't have a lot of experience with wild animals - excluding her trips to the zoo, of course - much less, dead animals. Her stomach turned as she watched her boyfriend poke at the bird with a stick. A small yelp escaped her lips as she watched from afar. Her hand instantly shot to , covering it up so that Hoseok wouldn't hear her having a near heart attack in the car. Though she wasn't sure it worked much to keep her sounds down. Having to watch Hoseok pick it up and move it away certainly wasn't doing anything to help her anxiety.

Once the man had returned, Heeyeon carefully took his hand and got out of the car. She figured his explanation made sense, but also she couldn't shake the feeling that something was off. All those town people staring at them and then /this/ happening in the short time that they were gone. It was all just too strange... too much of a coincidence. As they entered the house, she spared a slight glance in the direction of where Hoseok had hidden away the bird. A shiver ran down her spine, making her blood run cold for just a moment. It was weird, all of it. But she tried to shake those thoughts away, telling herself that it was just anxiety getting the best of her. After all, Hoseok was from the countryside so she was sure that he would know better than her what an animal attack looked like. And the last thing she wanted to do was worry over this so much that she dampened the mood.

A soft, weak smile graced her features as her boyfriend recounted his younger years when they faced similar problems with their chickens and wild animals. She'd always enjoyed listening to his stories about his youth, they always made her smile. Even now, he'd managed to pull a smile onto her face. "You're so cute, Seok. I love my country boy." She said, chuckling softly as she reached over and gave one of his round cheeks a little pinch. It was something she liked to with, but really she adored hearing all about it, especially when his accent would come out on occasion. Every now and then she liked to imagine their kids being raised in the country and having accents like him... someday.

Once the man had brought up the smores again, Heeyeon gave a nod. She wasn't as excited as before, but the woman loved to eat and even if her appetite wasn't fully there, surely making them would be fun. "Okay. Maybe we can wear our matching pajamas?" She suggested, raising her eyebrows a little. It'd been one of those things Heeyeon had seen online and then bought on instinct. Luckily, she had a sweet enough boyfriend that the man didn't mind wearing their cheesy, matching pajamas. After they'd gotten everything put away, Heeyeon made her way upstairs quickly, pulling out her suitcase. She changed into the matching top and shorts and then went to the bathroom to freshen up.

The water she'd splashed on her face did wonders to make her feel alive again. Even if the bird was still lingering in the back of her mind, she at least felt more calm, relaxed. She made her way back down the stairs to where the fire had already been started and plopped down beside her boyfriend. "You should send your mom a picture of the place, Seok. I'm sure she'd love to see it." She suggested, smiling warmly as she grabbed a marshmallow and poked it onto a stick. Then, she held the marshmallow only an inch or so from the fire, watching carefully as it was roasted. "Maybe..." She started as an idea came to mind, one she'd brought up before only to be turned down. "You can show me how to hunt while we're here... You know, with a /gun/." She suggested, looking at her boyfriend with wide, seemingly innocent eyes. She was just curious, though she knew that Hoseok was the biggest pacifist in the world.

"It'd be fun! And good for safety, you know?" She explained, and then in one more attempt, she poked her bottom lip out into a pout, batting her wide eyes at him. "/Please/, Seok?"

@Ahn Heeyeon "I never disappoint?" A goofy smile formed on his face, his arms tightening around his beautiful girlfriend's waist. No matter how long they had been together, any compliment she gave him always made him feel so giddy. He loved that he felt this way, as if they were forever in that puppy love stage. And her planting a kiss on his plump lips only made him feel even more this way. How could someone so sweet love him like this?

"Yah," he scoffed when she pulled the car keys out of his pocket and ran to the car. His eyes rolled. Did she give him a kiss because she knew it would distract him for long enough for her to be able to take them from right under his nose. "Hey, stop that, I'm the better driver Miss Road Rage." He huffed as he followed her out, but didn't make a move to remove the keys from her grasp. He merely obediently followed her lead, climbing into the car, and immediately pinching her plump cheek. " Be patient."

Once they were in the store, Hoseok could feel the tension, holding Heeyeon's hand tight when she grabbed his. "Different places act different ways," he murmured back to her comment on how people from the country are to act. But he couldn't agree with her more. But he wasn't going to say that, not with the fear that these people may possibly hear them. There was something certainly odd about those that reside in this town. How was it possible that every single person could act in the same, cold demeanor? Maybe something horrid, like a known figure in the town died. Or maybe they just did not like strangers?

He hated the way that the cashier looked at them. The blank expression in their eyes. As if there was no soul behind them. Hoseok was glad to leave when they did.

Hoseok felt more at ease once they were in the car. He kept silent, but his hand rested on Heeyeon's thigh as she drove, as a way to possibly comfort her. Though, it did not help when they pulled to the house just to see the dead bird. "Stay here," he said as he got out of the car to inspect the animal. If looked that maybe it was attacked and left on their step. The wings were mangle, its eyes were cloudy. Hoseok crouched in from of the bird. It seemed maybe it was dropped here not long after they had left. He got up and grabbed a stick, prodding the bird a bit before it twitched, making him jump.

The crow then went limp again. Maybe rigor mortis was finally settling in the bird? He picked the bird up with his stick and carefully carried it to the woods, tossing it in front of a tree before he covered it in leaves. It was best to try to get it away from the door.

He hurried back to Heeyeon, knocking on the window of her door. "Come on, let's go inside. It seems that maybe a big animal dropped it there. Let's get inside and lock the doors, it might still be prowling around." He took her hand when she opened the door, helping her out of the car, then grabbed the bags with their food items. "Stuff like this happen all the time. I remember when I was a kid, foxes would get into the chicken coop," he smiled at her, hoping that this fact would help Heeyeon calm down.

They walked back to the house, avoiding the blood as they entered. Hoseok quickly locked the door behind them, carrying the bags to the kitchen. He needed to distract her from what she had seen. He wasn't sure how, and knew she wouldn't really have an appetite. But the house had a fireplace in the living area, and the room already had wood ready to go. They may as well make the smores. It would help distract her, even if she wasn't going to eat them. "Let's get comfortable, it's going to get dark soon, so we might as well stay in for the rest of the night."

@Jung Hoseok Heeyeon felt like a kid in a candy shop. She had always relished in hearing about Hoseok's stories of how it was to grow up in the countryside as a child. It was so much different from the environment she'd been accustomed to all her life. One surrounded by tall buildings and filled to the brim with people on the streets. She'd often enjoyed imagining what life would be like in a small town surrounded by trees, but unfortunately, the closest she ever got to experience that was going to the large parks in the city. At least until now. She couldn't wipe the smile off of her face as she explored the first floor of the cabin. It was gorgeous, but it would be even better if her boyfriend was down there with her. Heeyeon couldn't help but wonder what was taking him so long.

"Seok! Come join me!" She called out, glancing towards the stairs. It wasn't long until he abided and came downstairs, surprising her with a hug from behind. Instantly she turned around in his arms, looking up to him. She nodded excitedly in response to his question. "Of course! You never disappoint baby." She breathed, wrapping her arms carefully around his neck. "That sounds like a great idea. We can make smores too." She suggested. Heeyeon leaned in, gazing lovingly at her boyfriend. The tips of their noses gently brushed together and Heeyeon smiled ever so slightly before planting a firm but sweet kiss onto her boyfriend's lips.

"I'll be driving this time!" She said, pulling away abruptly and grabbing the keys from Hoseok's pocket. "As we both know, I am the better driver anyways." She teased the man a little. That was one of the little things they bickered over, who was the better driver between them, and Heeyeon was certainly stubborn in her opinion of herself. But also, she'd been nice enough to let him drive them there, so now it was her turn.

The girl hurried out to the car and hopped into the driver's seat, before beeping the horn to hurry Hoseok. Once they were both in and buckled, Heeyeon excitedly the music and started driving towards the grocery store they had passed back in the small town. It didn't take them long to arrive, and once they did, Heeyeon got out of the car hurriedly, eager to pick up the marshmallows along with some other snacks she was sure she would crave. Upon entering the store though, they were greeted with stares yet again from the few employees and customers in the store. Heeyeon lowered her gaze and grabbed Hoseok's hand, lacing their fingers together. She dragged him down the aisles until they reached what they'd come for: the marshmallows. They also happened to be in the aisle alone so once Heeyeon grabbed the bag of treats, she turned towards her boyfriend and leaned in.

"I thought country folk were supposed to be nice." She muttered under her breath, eyebrows furrowing a bit. The stares were relentless and almost made her feel like she was being scoped out. For what? She had no idea. She tried to ignore it though as they continued to shop for their snacks. Once they'd gotten everything their hearts desired, they went to checkout and one again, the employee greeted them with a blank expression. Heeyeon cleared , not even bothering to make small talk and instead only mumbled a small, "thank you" as Hoseok paid and they left the store.

The moment they got back to the car, the girl released a heavy groan as she the car. "Something is super weird here..." She breathed, slightly frustrated at their experience so far. If they did move to the country someday, she'd make sure they never moved here. She bit her lower lip, allowing her thoughts to race as she drove back home, pondering over why these people were so weird and standoff-ish. However, just as Heeyeon was pulling into the driveway and thinking that everything could go back to normal once again, she saw something that made her nearly vomit. Right at the front door, there was, what looked like a crow, surrounded in a circle of... blood.

Her jaw dropped, and she immediately turned towards Hoseok as she parked. "Seok... I don't..." She struggled to find what to say. "It's... dead."

@Ahn Heeyeon It had been a long time coming, this trip. Hoseok had spent months planning it out, saving and just making sure that it was to be everything that Heeyeon had ever hoped for. Her excitement was just making this trip all the more worth it, especially when her laughter tinkled over the music. He didn't even care that she had the music blasting, pounding through the speakers, he just cared that she was happy.

"I promise, you'll like it a lot. You always say you wanted to stay somewhere a bit quiet," Hoseok responded to Heeyeon's statement of never having been in the country before. It made him smile as he is originally from the countryside, though his family had moved to the city when he was in college. Not only because the city had many more opportunities for them, but because his mother couldn't stand for him to be living in the city alone. She had gotten quite upset when she had seen how skinny he had gotten after he finished his freshman year of college, and thus, the whole family moved.

As they rolled down the road, through the town, Hoseok noticed the cold stares that they received. It was quite odd to him, as city-folk were usually the ones to have such a demeanor. He lifted a hand off the steering wheel, taking Heeyeon's, his fingers intertwining with hers. "Don't worry too much about them, not many people enjoy strangers being in their town. That's all. We don't need to speak to them too much," He smiled and looked at the beautiful woman beside him. He was glad, that as soon as the house came to view, Heeyeon once again seemed happy.

He chuckled when she kissed his cheek and rushed to get inside the cabin. "Yes, let us just do that." He too opened his door and slid out of the car. Though, he went to grab their bags from the car first, allowing Heeyeon to enjoy the house first. He soon followed after her, his duffle bag slung over his shoulder, while hers was tight in his grip. He slid his shoes off when he reached the door, his eyes widening in amazement when he saw how the house looked.

"Wah," the sound made to show how the house had taken his breath away.

He wanted to stay forever as well, and maybe some day, they could stay forever in a place like this. "Let me go put the bags in the bedroom, go check out the rest of the house."

He smiled as he made his way up the stairs, knowing by the description, that the master bedroom was upstairs. He made quick work to get up there, not even letting Heeyeon protest. He had something that he needed to put away before she came around.

He barely took in how breath-taking the large room was. There was even a large bathroom with an impressive bath tub in it. He tossed the bags onto the bed, rummaging through his quickly before he pulled a small black box from it. He checked it very briefly and sighed softly. He hadn't told Heeyeon why exactly he wanted to take her on this trip, she certainly wasn't going to expect what he was going to ask...which would make hiding the ring a bit easier.

He was still trying to decide when he should propose. Beginning, middle, or the very end of the trip? He heard her call out to him, making him quickly shove the box into a drawer then pile his packed pants over it before he rushed down.

"So, you think I made a good choice love?" He came up from behind her in the living room, his arms sliding around her small waist. "Do you want to make a fire tonight? We can get marshmallows in town."

@Jung Hoseok A heavy gasp broke through the air.

"Oh my gosh! I love this song. Let's turn it up!"

Heeyeon squealed with wide eyes, bouncing around in her seat a little. She reached over to the volume knob on the radio, turning up the music. Instantly, she started singing along with a wide smile on her face. It was something of her routine really. On this road trip to their getaway, she'd loved most songs that came on and had a similar reaction every time. But really it was just the type of person she was: easily excitable and generally happy. Of course, it hadn't always been that way, there'd been a time when Heeyeon was dark, cynical and always suspicious. But then... /he/ had come into her life and showed her how to trust and love again. He'd given her purpose, and once again had managed to sweep the woman off her feet with his shows of affection.

"We're so close, Seok! I can't wait to see it. I haven't been to the countryside before." Heeyeon cheered, bright eyes landing on her boyfriend who had been the one to set this entire trip up for them. A romantic getaway, he called it. Heeyeon had never done anything like that with a partner of hers before, so it only contributed to her excitement. She looked around, taking in their peaceful surroundings. It was so different from the city, much quieter and calmer, but it was certainly a welcome change. City life could get overwhelming, and Heeyeon had always thought that she could see herself someday retiring to the countryside to live out the rest of her life in nature. Now, she could see Hoseok being a part of that dream. The very thought of the two of them someday being old and having their own cabin out in the country was enough to make the smile on her face widen tenfold.

Eventually, a very small town came into view. Double-digit, only one road small. Heeyeon's eyes widened a bit, and she looked here and there. Then she spotted, who she assumed were, locals standing near the small buildings. The woman gave a small wave and a smile, thinking that it'd be nice to talk to them later on once they got settled into their cabin. But, much to Heeyeon's surprise, none of them reacted to her wave. They only stared, dark eyes watching them as they drove by. Admittedly, it was nerve-wracking and she couldn't help but feel... unwelcome... on display, maybe? The entire vibe was somewhat sinister really. The town was tiny, so they passed through it in a matter of minutes, but still Heeyeon couldn't shake the funny feeling she got from it.

"Seok..." She breathed quietly, eyebrows furrowing as they drove away from the town and towards the cabin instead. "That was a little weird, no?" She asked, biting down on her lower lip ever so slightly. Heeyeon sometimes had rises of anxiety here and there, but they had slowed down as she went to more therapy so she attributed the anxiety she was feeling over the situation to that. Though deep down inside, she knew that the feelings she had picked up on were quite warranted. "Nevermind..." She sighed, shaking her head a bit and running her fingers through her darkened locks. She focused her gaze back on the small road they had to that was taking them through a deeply forested area. Slowly, the cabin began to come into view, and the smile had returned to her face, albeit it wasn't as strong.

"Let's just enjoy our time here, yeah?" She tried to switch back to a happier subject, leaning over to place a soft kiss on Hoseok's cheek. "This is going to be great!" She assured, hurrying out of the car. "We can bring in the bags later! Let's go look inside!" She cheered, heading up to the front door of the cabin with childish laughter. It was even more beautiful in person. It was nice and isolated. Once again, Heeyeon thought about just how lucky she was as she opened the door and entered the well decorated home. "Wow..." She breathed out, looking around a little.

"I want to stay forever!"
