@y. shuhua If it weren’t for the vampire’s shy smile, Hoseok would have thought his boldness was too much. His own awkward one shifted into something softer, and more sweet. Shuhua certainly was a cute girl, if it weren’t for her red eyes, he would have expected her to merely be human. Who knew that vampires could be taken back by such a compliment? Wouldn’t she have received one like this before, seeing as to how her kind were rumoured to be beautiful?

He noted the shake of Shuhua’s head, wondering if she noticed his discomfort with the kissing couple. Was she judging his reaction? That would be awfully awkward for him since he did not mind such intimacies, but he would rather people not do it in a cafe or restaurant setting, where others have no choice but to watch, typically. Thankfully, the vampire said nothing regarding the couple, making Hoseok feel relieved. Possibly she had the same thought of ‘get a room’ as him.

Hoseok watched Shuhua with such an intensity, truly curious about the way she made the tea. Every time Hoseok tried to make tea for himself, he would always end up burning the tea leaves, not letting it steep enough, or allowing it to steep for too long. It was frustrating, and he had given up at some point, opting for coffee instead (since the machine did all the work.) “Then the chocolate cake it is. I don’t often get to have it anyways, so might as well.” Usually, cakes were on the lighter, fluffier side, than rich. At least the ones that his family members would make were like that.

“The storage room? That doesn’t seem too comfortable,” Hoseok raised a brow in response. Usually, those rooms were not nicely ventilated, what with their being made for things, not people. “Well, I suppose that is kind of him to give you a place to stay...Oh, thank you,” Hoseok moved the pot so that, when ready, it would be easy for him to pour his tea. “I am actually surprised I haven’t seen you...then again, I didn’t exactly realize this cafe was across from my apartment until today.” Hoseok stabbed into the cake, taking a bite with a highly satisfied sigh. He had forgotten what a cake like this tasted like, and by God it made him feel some type of way.

“Wow, this is good. Do you guys make them here? I might end up getting this more often,” He mumbled the last statement. If he made it a regular thing, it was guaranteed that he would end up looking like his father. He would have to resist the temptation, but it would be hard to do so when they were open so late. And Hoseok was a er for late-night snacks.

“Are you a student? Now that I think about it, you look really young,” Hoseok paused for a moment, realizing that he just kept bombarding her with questions. “Oh, feel free to let me know if I am prying too much. And...uh, feel free to ask me things too if you’d like.” His eyes settled on his cake, tapping it with his fork. He had a habit of either being too quiet, or too talkative. There was really no inbetween. Hoseok did not really notice it until now, making him feel like her sounded like a creep with all he was asking.

@j. hoseok Shuhua could sense the man's blood coursing through his veins, his heart rate must be pretty high for it to do that, she thought. Taking in another deep breath, she realized the minor shift in his scent, the previous one fading slowly but surely revealing a lighter, sweeter one, unconsciously her lips.

If she had the ability to blush, her face would be bright red after hearing his words, but with the lack of the crimson substance flowing through her veins, she could only give him a shy smile, not knowing how to react seeing that it was the first time receiving a compliment. Tucking a stray fringe behind her ear, she picks up the menu on the table before hugging it to her chest and giving him a small nod, proceeding to return behind the counter to prepare his order.

Sensing his hastiness from behind her as she walked towards the counter, she glanced back and followed his line of sight towards the couple which were seated across from his previous table. Letting out a small scoff at them with an eye roll, knowing that they've been each other's faces off long before Hoseok arrived. Shaking her head lightly as she returns the menu in her hands to the rest, sliding behind the marble counter.

Reaching up to the jar of dried chamomile flowers resting on the shelf together with the rest of the teas, she nodded as she reached out to grab a clean spoon. "Yeah, the chocolate cake would be fine. The lightness of the tea would be nice to balance out the richness of the cake." she replied while scooping an appropriate amount of chamomile into a teapot she had taken out before. Setting the pot and mug on the counter space in front of him after adding hot water into the teapot.

She slides the door of the display case open with her hip, her hands full with the serving plate and knife. Sectioning him a slice and letting it fall onto the plate, placing a small dessert fork beside it as she served it up beside the teapot. "Enjoy." giving him a tight lipped smile before resting her hands on the counter. Pausing to calculate the time she has worked in the cafe, she replied " It's been a little over 2 years, and I live in the attic upstairs, it was supposed to be a storeroom for the cafe but the owner was nice enough to let me live there."

@g. yutaro He found it rather interesting how his friend was so genuinely focused on picking something right for him, as simple as it was. But that was the perk of having such a good friend, sometimes they even knew him better than he knew himself. Satisfied with the other's choice, he beamed at him, chuckling at how happy he seemed to be at his own recommendation, "It's perfect." Breathing out in content as he let himself be surrounded by warm sunlight and the nostalgic scents of sugary bread and coffee, Yangyang felt the rest of his tension fall off from his shoulders, prompting him to throw off his hood and expose his hair to the gentle wind. "I really missed this, you know? More than I thought I would."

@y. shuhua If Hoseok knew why the vampire was looking at him the way she was, maybe he would have been more comfortable, less awkward with her. But alas, his human mind thought the worst-case scenario of her possibly wanting to feast on his blood. Of course, that morbid thought did peak his interest, if not maybe even excited him a little bit. If he were to be feasted on by a vampire, he’d rather it be one he had some sort of physical attraction to.

He nodded along to her suggestions, his mind continuing to wander about thoughts about what he could ask her to get to know her better. He hadn’t exactly realized what came out of his mouth until it was too late. His fingers squeezed between each other as his embarrassment rose once more. “Yeah, uh, sorry about that. It really is odd for a stranger to ask you into their home...I just thought I’d give it a shot...I do find you quite attractive.” Hoseok gave her an apologetic smile, wondering if her shock was more so due to the fact that a human would ask her such a thing. He must seem to have a death wish in her eyes.

“Oh, that would be better,” he said in response to her suggestion to sit over by the bar. Of course, it would look a bit more loner-ish if he moved over there, full view to others that he was on his own. Hoseok almost decided to actually just sit at his table...that was until a nearby couple decided to snog within his line of sight. He stood with a quickness that he did not expect to have, not with his legs feeling tired from being on his feet all day.

Once again, he asked for her suggestions, this time, fully listening to the selection as he sat on one of the bar stools. His eyes trained on the cakes as she spoke. What would go best with chamomile? It had a bit of a citrusy hint to it, so a tart probably wouldn’t go well with it...and as much as he would love the cheesecake, eating something like that this late...he would only regret it later. “I’ll have the chocolate cake then...that’d taste okay with the tea right? Would it taste weird?” He asked himself the second question, almost changing his mind.

“So,” Hoseok paused for a brief second, trying to figure out what to ask her. It had been a long while since he had tried to flirt with a woman due to how busy he was typically. “How long have you been working here? Do you live around here, Shuhua?” He almost stated that he had never seen her around, but who was he to say when he was always either at his mother’s stew shop or sitting at home? Hoseok didn’t get around much, not with the long hours that he was pulling.

@j. hoseok Shuhua sensed a shift in the air, though she couldn't put a finger on what it was, nervousness? from a werebeast? regardless if he was a halfer, those emotions weren't usually associated with them. She tilts her head questioningly, pushing the thought to the back of her head.

She chuckles as he stared at the menu intently, thinking that if he looked at it any harder the paper would have most probably gotten holes in them. Her eyes traveled to his lean arms as he picked up the menu and went through it, taking note of how she could see the muscles flex and swallowing hard, thinking about how fit he must be. His sharp inhale snapping her out of her reverie as she noted down his order, assuming he wanted the beverage hot if he wanted it to help him with his sleep. Turning back to look at the display case at the mention of recommendations, she takes note of what's left before turning back, making eye contact with him with a small smile. "Well, it really depends on what you're looking for, if you prefer something a little richer, the chocolate cake is a personal favourite, but if you prefer something a little lighter and fruity, the strawberry tart is a popular choice, if not the oreo cheesecake is also pretty frequently ordered." she nods slightly, satisfied at the little rant she gave.

"Sorry?" momentarily stunned at his request and blinking multiple times trying to organize her thoughts while he spoke, trying to explaining himself. From what she could catch, he wanted to get to know her better? What for though? She was initially worried due to her past experiences with his species, but then he didn't seem too hostile so maybe he didn't mean any harm? Reasoning with herself that she couldn't be afraid of his half species forever and looking at him, she concluded that he was indeed nervous, his twiddling thumbs giving it away. She decided to give him and herself a chance, wondering what he would get out of their interactions, knowing she has nothing to lose even if his intents were to kill her.

Giving him a tight lipped smile, she responded "I end at midnight and yeah, my name's Shuhua, going to a stranger's home does flag a few warning signs but if you'd like you could move over to the bar seating, I'd be at the counter anyways so-" shrugging her shoulders briefly.

@l. yangyang "Recommend?!", Yutaro sat up straighter, excited by this new responsibility given to him. The waiter approached and Yuta politely accepted the menu with both hands. "Hehe~" His golden eyes busily darted over the café's dessert menu, pearly teeth sunk into this lower lip- proof of genuine concentration. "Hmmm~ What should I pick for youuu..." Yuta was mostly talking to himself but it wasn't something he did without noticing. He let him do this because it was 'just' Nyangnyang he was with. His golden eyes peeked at his friend from other the rim of the menu. "I've decided!" The waiter, who hadn't left, smiled and took out his notepad. "One strawberry fruit cake with extra whipped cream, please! My friend likes diary products~" Cheeks flushed with pride and accomplishment he handed the waiter the menu and then looked at Nyangie in victory. "Good?"

@y. shuhua Hoseok's face seemed to only get hotter as her red eyes seemed to pierce through him. She was looking at him for far too long, not like Hoseok was one to talk. However, he knew why he stared at her. She was attractive to him, strikingly so. And he could not help but be excited by it. But why was it that she looked at him like that, other than taking his order? Maybe she was hungry?

Hoseok's eyes quickly averted from the vampire's face when he heard her voice her amusement. Instead, they became glued to his menu, his lips pursing as he looked it love. 'Great Hoseok, first you're stumbling over your words like an idiot, and now you can't even hide the way looking at her makes you feel,' he thought to himself grumpily. A sharp sound emitted from him as he took in a sudden breath. "I was thinking maybe an herbal tea and some cake. But I can't decide which one I would like...Do you think you can give me some suggestions? I have never been here before." Hoseok's eyes did not stray from the menu as he spoke, so as to keep a level tone. However, he did look up to her gaze again once he finished speaking.

"Uh...I guess for the tea, chamomile would be nice, it'll probably help me sleep later..." His dark brown eyes searched hers briefly as she explained what may be good here, and what he may like to eat for a dessert. He only half-listened, of course, becoming a little lost in the beauty of her face. "This probably sounds a bit weird, what with you not knowing me and all...But uh, when do you get off of your shift? I'd love to get to know you. And I live just across the street too. Everything will probably be closed by the time you get off but-" Hoseok paused briefly, wondering if he sounded like a random creep.

"My name is Hoseok by the way," he rubbed the nape of his neck as he handed the woman his menu, starting to become embarrassed by his sudden strike of confidence. "I'd understand if you wouldn't want to come into a stranger's home. But at least take my number?" His eyes dropped down from the pale woman's face to her chest, eyeing the nametag pinned to her . "Shuhua? Is that your name, or is it just a nickname?" He clasped his hands in front of him, his thumbs twiddling with each other as his eyes became drawn by a couple across from him.

"You don't need to give me an answer now, just think about it?"

(so my cat wanted to go outside in the middle of me writing this and like he was making such a stink. So when I came back, my laptop decided to close out of all of my tabs .-. I never wanted to die so much)

@j. hoseok Shuhua rested her cheek against her palm, sitting at the counter while flipping through one of the newer recipe books the owner had bought, marking out those that caught her eye. The cafe was quiet as it was approaching it's closing hours, the people would have had their caffeine fix when the sun was still up, leaving the later part of the day to be relatively slow. The low buzz from the streets made good ambient noise for her light reading, wondering if she should try out some of the recipes later if they didn't take too long.

The bell hanging above the cafe entrance chimed, as she perked up from her book and mumbled a small "Welcome" while bowing slightly. She noted the strong sweet scent of human blood before being hit by the acidic aftertaste, making her recoil slightly, fear creeping up on her as she immediately recognizing the customer's species and her history with them. Pushing the fearful thoughts to the back of her head, she grabbed a menu and headed to where the customer was seated.

Placing the menu in front of him, she then stepped back, allowing herself to take in the features of the man sitting in front of her, realizing that he was a feast (not technically because of his species but boy, he looked good) for her eyes. His tan skin glowed under the dim lights of the cafe, making him elude a warm aura, his features were sharp and defined, seemingly crafted expertly. Noting the blooding rushing to the tips of his ears, tinting them a light pink, she chuckled under her breath, hoping it didn't pass off as a rude gesture. A small smile made it's way across her lips as he tripped over his words, bringing some amusement to her relatively boring night. "Hello, what would you like today sir?" she spoke softly, reaching to her back pocket to grab her notepad.

@y. shuhua It had been a long day in his mother’s soup restaurant. Being the only person she trusted in the kitchen, other than herself, Hoseok often found himself slaving away at the large stove-top. It was disgustingly hot in that kitchen during this time of year, to the point that Hoseok’s clothes seemed to stick to his skin. Thus, when his mother told him he is free to go back home and wash up, he happily obliged.

Despite still working with his mother, Hoseok lived in a small apartment on his own. He hadn’t lived there for very long, having just decided to move out after feeling that he was becoming much too old for his parents to be around him all the time. With his being fairly new to the neighborhood, it was his first time entering the small cafe that was across the street from the complex he lived in.

It was against his mother’s wishes for him to be out when it was dark (as there were creatures that came out at night that made being human very unsafe), but where was the harm in being just across the street from his home. He thought even more “what’s the harm” when he saw the pretty waitress in the cafe. She had beautiful porcelain skin that made her look unreal, almost as if she were a doll, inhuman.

As Hoseok sat down at a table, he realized from the looks of her eyes, she certainly was not human, but instead was a vampire. It made her even more mesmerizing, as Hoseok had never encountered one before. Nor did he often run into others that were more than human or magicians…(well...he was mostly just oblivious to it). So when she came to him to ask what he wanted, he could not help but forget what he was in the cafe for, instead stumbling over a quick, “H-hello,” making him sound not only awkward, but a tad childish and shy.

@h. momo dejun merely smiled and nodded as the girl went away to place in his orders, leaving him to his thoughts. the longer he wondered, the more he couldn't help but to feel bothered by the fact that she seemed to know him somehow. he tried to recall if he had stumbled across her at some point in his life, but just could not figure it out. his musing was soon broken as he noticed his cup of cappucino and treat being placed before him, glancing up at the girl from before and smiling appreciatively at her. "thank you," returned dejun politely. he could ask her now on how she knew him. though as he opened his mouth to ask, he hesitated for a second, leading to him slowly closing as he smiled awkwardly once. "thanks again," repeated dejun one last time before he turned to drink his coffee.

@g. yutaro This was nice, this whole change of atmosphere. Yangyang cherished those short moments of peace and warmth because he knew, eventually, he would return to being that cold person he once was before any of these happened, back to working in the dark and getting his hands dirty. For now he just wanted to relax, lose the tension in his shoulders and breathe a little more. Smiling a little more as to silently reassure his friend that he was fine, he looked over as the waiter started walking back with a menu in hand. Yangyang was determined not to order anything bitter this time, wanting to rid himself of that unpleasant feeling at least for a few hours. "It's been a while, hasn't it? But hey... since you know my sweet tooth best. Is there anything you can recommend me?"

@j. hyeonju Shuhua hums in acknowledgement, reaching out both hands to receive the florist's namecard, taking it onto the cashier or easy reference. She turns back to the shelves and reaches up to grab the bottle of rose tea, "For here or to go?", scooping out a teaspoon of the leaves into a tea strainer and adding it into a cup, filling it with hot water.

@x. dejun Momo smiled as her favorite customer responded and also taking down notes at his orders, she wrote the additional ones too before looking back at him. "Thank you, I'll be right back." She winked at him before going to the kitchen to make his order ready, getting his cappuccino and some additional orders for him. Momo brewed some coffee more as the machine is almost empty then waits for a few minutes to ponder, she felt weird when she came towards Dejun. Did something happened to him? I hope he's okay. Momo couldn't help but to worry a bit then eventually shrugs it off before taking a tray with his orders before foing to his table and serves them to him, "Here, your cappuccino, sir." She said cheerfully.

@l. yangyang Yuta bit down on the inside of his cheek. He wanted to stand up and give him a hug. In fact, he felt like he was about to burst into tears again. After three months of no contact, his pokerface was severely out of practice. He quickly lowered his head, pink locks casting a shadow of his golden eyes. His heart hurt. "That's good.", he managed to say. Under the table he stretched out his legs, trapping Yangyang's foot between his own in a sort of... foot hug. Yuta let out a shaky breath and sniffled, his lips pressed together as he tried to compose himself. "..." He raised his head. "But you're mine for today, and I'm not letting you go!" Yuta always tried to take Yangyang's mind off of his usual state. He didn't know if it was effective, or if it even helped- but he certainly did try. He turned to the side and shyly raised an arm to catch the waiter's attention. "Can we have another menu, please?" He blushed faintly as he spoke. All this emotion had made him flustered.
l. yangyang (H) 4 years ago
@g. yutaro Yangyang sighed softly, chewing on his bottom lip when the anxiety crawls over him for a moment. He relaxed into his seat, resting more of his weight onto the table as his shoulders slumped, tension gone and his guard let down. The question sounded a bit sad, a bit pitiful if you listened closely, but he couldn't really blame the other for feeling that way. Having a friend like Yangyang was a hassle on its own, it had always been a risky friendship, but he was grateful for those who have never left him despite what he had turned into.

"I've... been doing better," he breathed out, though the chuckle that subsequently leaves his mouth is bitter, pessimistic. "My father is starting to open up again, or maybe that's what it looks like to me. He hasn't hit me at all this week, so I guess I'm probably doing something right." Yangyang's voice gradually grew soft, not wanting other peope to overhear what a horror of a life he actually had.
g. yutaro 4 years ago
@l. yangyang Yuta's lips curled into a frown and he sank back into his seat, his eyes wandering his friend's face as he leaned against the back of his seat. "..." Many, many years ago, when Yuta had regularly snuck into Yang's family residence to see him, he had cried bitterly for his friend. He had a loving family, annoying siblings and a warm, fuzzy life in the fairy village. There were no pack wars to fear. And then there was Yangyang. Yuta had seen him change with his own eyes, be moulded into what he was today. He reminded him of a sword, beaten into absolute sharpness by his upbringing. Yuta didn't cry for him anymore, not in front of him at least and he did his best to hide the way the felt from the other. It wasn't helpful.

After those seconds of silence, his lips curled into a small pout. "I did miss you... How are you?" Yuta felt a bitter taste on his tongue even while he spoke. He felt like his concern was somehow... arrogant, and it made hi feel ashamed. Yuta began nervously fumbling with his fingers.

@y. shuhua Hyeonju grinned wider and thought for a moment. “Hmm, Rose tea, and hot, with some honey please? If that’s okay?” she chuckled softly before hearing the girl offer to have the owner call her, before hurriedly digging in her pockets for her namecards, chuckling as she handed it over. “If I’m out on a delivery, this number probably won’t work too well since it’ll be assistants are the shop, but this one will always get through to me, no matter what.” she grinned as she pointed out the two different numbers, the latter being her personal number.

@h. momo Dejun smiled and lowered his arm as a worker came to his aid, though was soon surprised by her greeting. The smile on his face froze as he stared up at the girl, stunned that she knew his name and the drinks he liked, though confused by something she said. Had he come here before? Why couldn’t he remember that? That was odd. Chuckling nervously, Dejun quickly snapped out of his musing and bid back, unable to help the slight stutter due to his initial shock. “Y-Yes, um, I’d like to have the cappuccino for today, please.” He glanced down to the menu and pointed to a display picture, continuing, “I would also like this, please? And yeah, that’s all, thank you.” He flashed the female one last smile as he closed the menu, trying to act as casual as possible.
y. shuhua 4 years ago
@j. hyeonju "We have both! Which one would you prefer? And would you prefer it hot or iced?" she asked, unwrapping the flowers in preparation o place them into the vases around the cafe. "Okay, I'll have the owner give you a call, or would you like to leave your namecard?" wondering if it would be easier to contact her directly instead.
l. yangyang (H) 4 years ago
@g. yutaro [] let's just say yang isn't really allowed to make any friends during his childhood so gotta keep that a secret orz

A light chuckle slipped past the wolf's lips at the reaction he got. He had expected it, so no surprise there, although the kick under the table causes him to flinch a little. Yangyang growls at the other playfully for the action, nowhere near threatening at all. "We decide to meet and the second thing you do is kick me. How friendly, Taro," he huffed, soon raising a brow when the other decided to lean over the table. Unbothered, Yang doesn't move back no matter how close he gets. "I would if I weren't so busy, can't knock people out when I'm texting at the same time, y'know? But I'm hoping this month won't be so packed."
