⋰ forest

forest.
the forest surroundin camp half-blood is an especially dangerous and exciting area. you can find spirits such as dryads, some karpoi, naiads and rock elementals here, as well as the council of satyrs.

but be careful as you head further in, as past the golden fleece border, the forest becomes full of monsters. it's not recommended to enter alone. despite this, the camp likes to host a game of capture the flag every friday night or go hunting for monsters as a form of training.

@j. jeongguk When Dove heard Jeongguk she let her shadows down just enough to be seen. "I slipped as I was getting down, the lava wasnt fully gone so I got burnt. When I was trying to get out of it I ended up rolling out here." She wiped her cheeks where tears had streaked down. Her leg was killing her it was very painful "I tried to get up but I cant-" she froze looking past Jeongguk towards the trees "wait.." she wasnt sure if she had seen something or not. Choosing safety over chance she closed her shadows around them both and whispered "what are we going to do?"

(Sorry its so short I dono what else to write. Bit foggy brained tbh)

@c. dove [] yeah ofc! I figured that’s how we’d do the plot anyways!

The sound of cheers had Jeongguk turning away from the blonde girl(Greek fighting 101: never turn your back on your enemy, dip) to see somebody(he couldn’t exactly tell who) waving around a flag in victory. He wolf whistled regardless of who won the event before turning back to look at his foe.

“Dove?"

Except she wasn’t there. That was strange. “Uh.. Dove? You there, blondie?” Jeongguk called out once more only to be met with silence from the general direction of the forest. It was like she’d literally disappeared into thin air which, to be fair, wasn’t an unfair assumption to make considering her powers. Jeongguk shrugged and turned to go back to the playing field but something.. Hmm. Something made him pause, made him look back. The hair on his neck stood up. Something was wrong.

He looked back at the playing field but everybody seemed to be way to preoccupied with either celebrating a win or mourning a loss. Nobody looked his way. Worry ate at him, sitting like a stone in his stomach, and it only grew heavier as he happened upon where Doves squad was, they were much too far away to signal, and there was no indication of where she may have gone.

Just through the tree line, he could see the slightly opaque ripple of the camp boundary glint. He would have liked to have believed that Dove would /not/ go past the golden fleece but if his gut was right, and it usually was, she was on the other side. “Jesus, Dove” Jeongguk muttered, annoyance at his friend seeping into his concern.

It was probably going to get uncomfortably dark soon, it’d probably be night by the time he found her. Where could she have gone?

Jeongguk hopped off the table he stood on and made his way into the forest, in his breath as he passed through the shimmering barrier. Even he still got nervous outside the camp boundary(though he had more reason to be cautious than most) so he couldn’t imagine what Dove might be feeling in this very moment. He refrained from calling out her name in fear of attraction any monsters that he didn’t need too, silently moving over tree roots as he went further and further in.

He was almost ready to give up and shout by the time he’d reached Zeus’ fist but out the corner of his eye, he noticed a shadow that seemed darker than the rest.

“Dove?” Jeongguk asked, walking over. It was her and she was injured, if the way that she curled protectively around her leg was any indication. “Dude.. What did you do?” He asked her, crouching over her leg with a grimace. It was a pretty nasty burn.

@l. felix “We get the tattoo once we leave probatio to show we’ve been accepted into the Legion.” Soyeong explained, heading in after Felix into the forest “And the little barcode just says how many years we’ve been a part of our cohort so I’ve been at Jupiter for 5 years now. I have 5 years left of my service before I can retire and go live my life how I want.”

She laughed at the idea of the blonde guy being a child of Pluto but honestly, she’d seen much weirder parent-child combinations. “Hey, I won’t make any judgements! There somebody in the Fourth Cohort who’s into that screamo metal music, a total goth and I’m pretty sure perpetually single, and yet they’re somehow a child of Lady Venus.” See? Felix being the child of the god of the underworld wasn’t an entirely out of the norm idea. On the less extreme side of things just take a look at her, her legacy was archery and music; she couldn’t shoot a target if it were 10 feet in front of her and her piano playing skills? Yikes. Let’s not go there.

Felix walked through the forest with a determination that Soyeon couldn’t quite muster up in herself though she certainly tried, lagging behind by half a step to keep an eye out for anything sus in the woods. She kept her hand on her little satchel as she looked on the ground for her little treasures but even after walking a couple hundred feet, there was nothing. Bugger.

“Are you sure there’s going to be dragon scales in here?” She asked doubtfully, spying a Dryad giving her the stink eye from behind a tree(she definitely did not return the favour and end up with a pinecone bouncing off her head— ouch). “You seem pretty calm in here, do you guys use this forest a lot?”

@j. jeongguk (I like that idea. A draw. As it was a high odd number haha. I know I've moved so I'm gonna finish off their fight, basically with Doves responses to what Guk just did, and then skip to the plot. Hope thats ok)

Dove laughed as she pushed him back using her swords "No. I can handle drama. I can help people through it. But I dont like it" she gasped and hissed when his blade caught her thigh and then her hip, but that didnt stop her fighting back. She had noticed they were moving away from the fighting and on one hand she liked that, on the other she was cautious incase there was a trap waiting for her.
One advantage was the shadow of the trees leant her a little more strength and she was able to move freely even though her hip was bleeding and her leg was hurting. Neither injury was intense of course but it was also not particularly comfortable.
They were evenly matched, both with various slashes from the others blade, both starting to breathe that little bit heavier, both trying to remain balanced in the trees as they fought so as not to fall in the lava beneath them. Though they were very close to the edge, almost in the forest and not the arena.

Suddenly there were cheers, one of the teams had won. Dove used that split second of distraction to melt into the shadows and leave. She was known for disappearing when these things ended. Usually she went to her cabin, the lake or the infirmary. She wasnt much for big loud crowds. She would reappear when things settled down and everyone was celebrating by the bonfire.

Dove didnt realise how far out they were and was very soon not only out of sight but also outside of the barrier.
As she got down Dove had slipped, she landed right next to a small patch of lava which burnt her leg, but she didnt even have time to deal with it as she hadnt landed flat and was now rolling down a small hill. She managed to grab hold of a tree stopping her fall, but when she tried to get up she discovered she couldnt put any weight on her leg.
"D'arvit!" She cursed between gritted teeth as she pulled herself into a seated position and tried to examine her wounded leg. The burn was bad. Really bad. And what was worse was it went over the cut she had from the fight, and the roll caused dirt to get into her wounds. She was in a bad way. A really bad way.
Sighing she looked around. It was getting dark but the dark didnt frighten her anymore. What frightened her was when she realised she was outside of camp. Outside the barrier.
"No no no no!" She muttered as she tried to find some sort of crutch she could use to help her get back into the camp. Nothing. Only little sticks or fragile branches. The closest thing she could use was at least six feet above her and there was no way she could reach that with an injured leg. Even fully healed she'd have to work for it.

The longer she was out there the more frightened Dove felt. Her shadows closed around her as she tried to hide. Tried to find comfort in her ability to stay hidden. And prayed someone would notice she was missing and come find her.

@y. shuxin The apologies of the female catch him off-guard. There is nothing she would need to apologize for. He is glad that she has called him rather than trying to find the infirmary by herself and ending up even more lost in the woods. “Your shoulder?” His body turns slightly to catch a glance of her back. The crimson patch looks anything but good. The wound must be rather deep with the amount of blood. “Don’t be sorry. There is nothing to be sorry for. I am glad that I can help you.” He places the first-aid kit on a stone close to them as he does not want the dirt of the ground to dirty the medical items.

“A little. Don’t worry about it though. I will patch you up and then we go to the infirmary in order for it to be treated properly. The kids in the infirmary will make sure that no scar is left.” Jaehyun grabs for the disinfectant using it on his own hands first before spreading it out on a cotton ball. “Turn around, I will try to disinfect it and wash of the sticky blood.” His movements are careful as he does not want the female to be in any more pain. Nonetheless, the disinfectant is necessary for the wound to not end up infected. “Is this okay?” He asks her as he wants to make sure that he does not hurt the other demi-god.

“How did you even end up with this wound?” He asks as he snatches a huge patch from the first-aid kit. “All done!” He says once the patch graces her shoulder. “We will have the kids at the infirmary check on you nonetheless. Follow me.” He takes the first-aid kit and then points at the direction he came from.

@j. jaehyun // i got a bit carried out omg sjsnsjsj im so sORRY

if she were to be honest, shuxin hasn't the slightest clue how and why she seems to always stumble upon these unfortunate situations. having been dismissed and given instructions to head to the infirmary directly after a sword training accident, she took the time to ponder as she made her way through the unfamiliar grounds. "okay, first, all my notes fall into a puddle and are all mushed up. now, i'm wandering to where i think is the clinic with a soaked gauze on my arm. so far so good." the former of which, though admittedly much less dire, proved to be just as large of a nuisance as a fresh, bleeding cut. she hasn't always been the sarcastic one, but with how things are turning out lately, she really couldn't help but wonder what kind of cursed power she was given by the holy-almighty that sired her. "so much for being a demigod."

and so she stood still and waited beside a towering oak, hoping her rescue would arrive soon enough. calling a person she barely knew was quite a desperate move, but given the circumstances, a formidable one nonetheless. two fingers press gingerly onto the patch of crimsoned fabric on her shoulder, and she could've sworn she caught her name echoing through the trees. not long after, she spies the barely-familiar figure hustling through the forest, shouting after her in frenzy. "jaehyun! i'm here!" she calls back, hoping her voice to be loud emough to reach him.

there was nothing but worry in his ebony irises as they search through her. it pains her to think that he must've been so panicked while looking for her– and alas, the apologies started to spew out. "i'm alright, it's just my shoulder. i'm so sorry, did make you worry? oh god im so so sorry, i swear it's okay! it stopped bleeding i think, i would have treated it myself if i could reach it." she trails off, turning to reveal the bloodied slash on her left shoulderblade. "does it look bad?"

@y. shuxin His heart throbs in his chest as he rushes through the forest with a speed that is even new to him. The trees fade from his vision more so resembling a wall that guides him through the maze. Left, right, straight, left. Once the lake is in a short distance only he decelerates his speed. The girl must be close in this area. “Hello?” What was supposed to be a shout is drained by his panting, the heavy quiver in his chest. His right hand clasps around the first-aid kit that he has brought to treat her wounds. The rustling of the leaves calms him for a moment but as there is no response from the girl, worry hits him, led by the train of images that pop up in his head. What if the injuries are worse than she described and she passed out somewhere? God, finding her was his only option. His feet carry him through the maze of trees, slower this time as he does not want to risk missing her. “Shuxin?” He exclaims her name this time. Relief washed over him as there is a reaction, her voice calling out his name. Once more, Jaehyung rushes like a madman until he finally reaches her. “Gods, I’m so glad I found you.” His eyes scan her body quickly searching for wherever she needed treatment. “I got this, do you want me to try and treat your wounds here or lead you back to the infirmary? How bad is it?”
j. jeongguk [A] 3 years ago
@b. hayley [] sorry this took so long!

“Whaddya mean we’re missing someone? Who?”

“Hayley, nobody’s heard from her and the guys in her area said that they got separated somewhere past the camps border”

Jeongguk groaned, dragging his fingers through his hair in annoyance. He was selected to be blue teams leader for this round and his main rule, his main goddamn rule, was to make sure that you never let your teammates out of your sight. That was how they lost some campers a couple years back, the event had shaken up the entire camp; Guk especially as he’d been rather close with one of them. And now? It was potentially happening again.

“ing hell, alright, Jongin, you’re in charge until I get back. I’m gonna go look for her. Tell Minghao and Chiron where I’ve gone if I don’t make it back before nightfall.” Jeongguk ordered, untying his blue sash to signify to any Reds that he was out of the game. Ok, look, he probably didn’t need too but he’d also rather not have to have a surprise ambush on him when looking for his team member. He placed the sash in Jongins hands, who started to bark orders to the rest of the team as Guk turned and jogged off towards the edge of the forest.

Worry ate at him, sitting like a stone in his stomach, and it only grew heavier as he happened upon where Hayleys squad was meant to be, and there was no indication of where she may have gone.

Just through the tree line, he could see the slightly opaque ripple of the camp boundary glint. He would have liked to have believed that Hayley would /not/ go past the golden fleece but if his gut was right, and it usually was, she was on the other side. “Jesus, Hayls” Jeongguk muttered, annoyance at his friend seeping into his concern.

It was starting to get uncomfortably dark now, it’d probably be night by the time he found her. Where could she have gone?

Jeongguk wandered through the trees, occasionally having to hide as ominous thumps rustled through the shrubbery, until he happened on a small series of caves. Huh, well, finding shelter was survival 101 and if it were a cave then Hayley would be able to see is something was coming. He checked each one but it wasn’t until the last when he heard quiet breathing, much too soft to be a monster — it must have been Hayley! Guk rushed into the cave, relieved to see Hayley on the ground and, true to form, glaring at him with such ferocity that it would make even the furies hesitate to approach her. “Nah, but you definitely owe me for this one” Jeongguk replied, grinning at her attempt at humour; that was a good sign. He crouched down to take a look at her ankle, barely opening his mouth to ask what had happened when Hayley was screaming in his ear and pushing him to the side.

He landed on his side with a loud grunt though it was drowned out by the roars of a beast that, frankly, Guk had never seen before. It was disgusting with its semi-rotten chunks of flesh, exposed rib cage; it’s overall shape resembled a boar but a boar that’d been dead for months. “No!” Jeongguk scrambled to his feet as it charged towards Hayley, tackling the demon with a yell. The beast cried out and tossed Jeongguk off of its body but his actions had gained its attention as it turned to face him rather than Hayley. “Gods, you need a facial, asap” Jeongguk cringed, wanting to hurl at the half-crushed head of the boar. Seriously, no monster was ‘attractive’ but man, this one really took the cake on being ing ugly. “Hayls, can you move? Don’t say anything just—” He called out cautiously, not wanting to lose the monsters attention as he pulled out his coin, tossing it into the air where it shifted to his golden trident with a metallic glint. “Just cause I’m gonna need you to get outta the way so I can kill this thing”

Guk did not wait for a response before he rushed at the beast, its feet scrabbling against the ground at the suddenness of his charge but it met him halfway; Jeongguk digging his feet into the ground, his trident clanging against the boars tusks as they struggled to wrestle the other off of their feet.

“two months offerings for a little luck here, Lady Tyche, Lady Nike, please, would be grateful for it” Jeongguk strained through grit teeth, neither him nor the boar budging. This wasn’t going to do anything. He changed his grip on his trident, swinging underneath the boars body to get behind it; he lunged his weapon into the beasts flank. Dark blood mixed with sludge dripped from the boar though it didn’t seem to register the attacked as it crashed into Jeongguk, sending him flying(really? a third time?) into the wall. That was probably gonna give him a nasty concussion. Guk spit out a mouthful of blood, getting to his feet to charge the boar again, this time looking to pierce its soft underbelly and kill it once and for all but if he messed up.. He was looking at a big ol’ tusk jutting through his head and it’d be lights out. Permanently. “Gods, let’s hope this works—“

@k. dahyun Felix smiled gently, in an understanding way. “Yeah, I get that too, it’s a scary world out there. I guess we sorta just have to do our best,” He suggested, sighing to himself too. Felix followed her gaze up to the leaves, smiling almost fondly at the very sight of the trees. Only for that look to fade of course when the poor girl started crying. He floundered for a moment, unsure how he could help. While it was very awkward because of his heavy armour, Felix gave her a little hug. “It’s okay to be scared.”

@l. felix Dahyun looked down again before looking at her metal rod, "I guess I should keep on trying, I'm scared of dying too." She told him before looking up at the leaves covering the sky. "I don't like the fact that I got dragged in here just because of a certain monster that took my grandfather... I can't stay here for long, I wanted to save him." Then Dahyun bursts into tears as she covers her face, "I'm too scared of everything right now..."
b. hayley 3 years ago
@j. jeongguk The night took place upon the trembling, terrified young female as she cowers away to hide herself in an empty cave with only the small fireplace she built for herself, to keep her wounded self company. Crickets were singing and the trees were dancing to the tune of the soft wind, everything around her had caused a deep chill to streak up and down her spine; Hayley was alone and scared, with no one to know where she’s gone or fallen after she tripped on herself near the edge of a mountain’s cliff after being chased down by a teammate from the opposite team, whereas they were in the middle of a game called, “Capture the Flag”.

For such a steep fall Hayley did not land luckily, bruised and scratched up from the tree branches, along with a minor concussion from her rough landing, Hayley had truly had it bad. For something that was meant for humor and fun, the game itself led the helpless girl into a dangerous state far beyond the safety of the Golden Fence Boundary Line. Completely out of the safe zone, and with a twisted ankle and knife mark wound to her shoulder created by her Blue Fan that she always carried with her, the weapon took it upon itself to directly injure Hayley the second she had roughly landed below, landing on top of her weapon in which resulted in her shoulder injury, and it was hard for Hayley to even bother making it back to the top where it’s safe and sound. The only solution left for her was to find a hiding place until dawn and hope that someone would quickly come to her rescue, because the longer she waited, the quickier it’ll be for the demons to find it in themselves to devour her completely, once they are able to detect the smell of Hayley’s blood.

“Ow,” Hayley groaned painfully to herself, tears were at the tips of her eyes as she gritted her pearly whites together tightly to maintain her cries and screams as she tightened a handkerchief over her twisted ankle. The dark colored hair female moves her weak self to lean up against the brick wall of the cave once she finished securing her ankle in coverage, with heavy lids she begins to slowly drift off into a deep slumber, in the best interest it’ll help numb away some of her pain if she were to take this advantage and catch on some sleep and rest. For who knows how long it’ll be until someone would be able to find her...to her...at this point it was a situation where she had to fend for herself and pray that her mother’s blessings would protect her till the end of this.

However, the rest didn’t last long for the poor woman once she immediately jerks herself up by the sound of approaching footsteps, reaching for her weapon in a panic Hayley fights the urge of her aching pain and stands up to face to sudden intruder, whoever it may be, she was in no mood for friendly greetings.

“Who is it?” She pronounced angrily, aiming her weapon in the direction of the stranger, ready to fight till the bitter end; but once she heard a soft voice that she recognized, all her worries were set aside.

His gentle words that she heard coming from his sweet lips, his broad figure slowly approaching, Hayley could feel the relief in her nerves beginning to relax itself the moment she lowered her weapon to allow him closer, “Jungkook,” was the only thing that she could have mutter once more as she weakly offers him a smile. “Looks like I wouldn’t be the monster's food after all.” She happily jokes, only to find that their momentarily sigh of happiness soon came to an end once she noticed the beast behind her friend, “Jungkook, watch out!” Hayley immediately reaches for his wrist to pull him towards her, reflectively she shoves him out of harm's way to only receive another painful injury onto her wounded petite frame from behind. Sharp claws slices into her milky, ivory skin the moment Hayley took it upon herself to block the monster’s attack for the older male. And in for it, she took a life threatening hit that led her to her knees at last, it was so ing painful, Hayley just couldn’t hold in the tears anymore. She let the salty droplets fall, and incoming from behind the demon beast prepared to attack once more.

[sorry if this isn’t as great, i’m working on it. Haha, i hope it’s a decent starter though, and hayley usually isn’t such a baby, but c’mon who are we kidding? Anyone would be in tears in such a drastic situation. ]
j. jaehyun ( H 31.08 - 31.09 ) 3 years ago
@x. minghao Being still rather new to the camp Yibo hadn’t participated in games of capture the flag often so far. The first one ever had caused him to end up in the infirmary but he had had other plans for this game. Losing was no option, or at least getting injured in any way. Being Hades’ son gave him a power so he had found quite the liking in, one that had the dead take care of any sort of battle for him. Necromancy. There was no need to sully his hands when the dead could take care of it for him.

As everyone was busy attacking each other, Yibo found a rather quiet spot with no opponents around. So far he hadn’t used necromancy often, had never had the need to most of the time. Yibo lowered his body to crouch on the ground, his hand moved through grass until he found what felt like the spot that gave off the most energy. Something that wasn’t needed but he still highly believed that it mattered. His palm pressed down onto the earth the same moment his eyes closed.

Concentrate. Concentrate.

It rushed through his mind. His words were almost like a spell, a prayer, those that called up the dead. A crack opened as the earth broke apart, dark flames rose from the fissure. It was only a matter of seconds for the dead souls to rise, warriors that he had called for. As the earth rumbled beneath him, Yibo’s energy got dangerously low. Exhaustion had never taken him over as quickly before. His hand got shaky and it felt as if all control was being ripped from his body. . The dead souls escaped from the fissure and Yibo didn’t manage to command them anymore as his body got shaky, he collapsed onto his side seeing nothing but darkness in front of his eyes.

[] So this is very lacking cause I wasn't really sure how to write the whole necromancy thing but I hope that you can work with it!

@k. dahyun Felix offered up a warm smile. He still remembered the anxiety of whether he’d be claimed or not, and couldn’t explain how relieved he’d been to have it happen quickly after he’d arrived at the camp. “We’ll just have to get training, I guess. Even if we don’t like fighting our friends, it’ll be good experience for when we have to defend ourselves against monsters,” He mused to himself. He wanted to be able to take care of himself without having to rely on people in the camp, when he was older.

@l. hoseok Continuing to take slow steps and deep, calming breaths, Deon pushed his hands into the pockets of his short shorts as best he could, his gaze kept trained the forest floor, taking note of the grass and occasional insect. Despite his better judgement, he slowly began to let his guard but that soon proved to be a mistake. Continuing to walk, he was completely unaware of the man lurking just out of his sight before it was too.

Letting out a cry as he was tackled, Deon fell to the ground and on instincit, his powers lashe out, his dark brown eyes becoming a ominious glowing purple as he glared up at Hoseok, able to to recognize the man immediately. "What the are /YOU/ doing!" He yelled back, continuing to glare with eyes that were steadily becoming bright and bright as his powers got more and more restless, the boy completely unaware of the sudden chill in the air or very faint sounds of something digging under ground.

@l. felix "Thank you, I'm still hoping I get claimed sooner." She appreciated the sympathy of the other even though they are in opposite sides, they are both inexperienced in battle. Dahyun sighed and hugs her right leg while the other lets it rest because of the injury, "All people here are scary. I mean yes, they are training but... it is unfair for the ones who are not yet into battle... like both of us." She told him and looks down.

@k. dahyun “Really, only two weeks?” Felix inquired curiously, his head tipping slightly to the side like a surprised dog. “Oh, I see. I picked Abelia because it was the first thing I saw that I liked. Sorta called to me, you know?” He said, grinning to himself. While he didn’t have any skill with a sword, he still had a great attachment to it. “I’m sure everyone will welcome you with open arms you know. Ah - the Ares kids are a little scary, but you’ll get used to them! And I wouldn’t recommend getting on the bad side of a Poseidon kid either to be honest!” Felix smiled to himself. “Oh, I’m sorry.. I’m sure you’ll get claimed in no time you know!”
k. dahyun 3 years ago
@l. felix Dahyun sighs and looks at her metal rods, "I'm just two weeks in here. When I first came here, they told me to chpse among the sharp weapons but I prefer to use the blunt ones, a good hit on the head would do and less blood spilling." She explained why she chose blunt than sharp before looking up the sky. "I'm still unclaimed... and I get the feeling that I won't last long living in here." She added and sighs. "Growing up only with grandparents makes it hard for me to figure out who is my real mom and dad..." Then she looks away.
l. felix 3 years ago
@k. dahyun Felix shook his head quickly. He understood the feeling. “In games like this it’s very very rare someone actually dies. I’m pretty sure it’s meant to build courage or something, but really it’s just chaos,” He replied, looking from the blade of his sword to the girl. He loathed the idea of having to hurt someone with his sword, even in self defence. He always tended to make sure he was the one to go down first in spars, purely because he didn’t want to hurt someone. “Ah, about a year ago. I got claimed the second I got through the barrier, so I didn’t need to spend much time unclaimed. I like it here, but I’m only a part-timer.”
k. dahyun 3 years ago
@l. felix She sighs and looks down, "I honestly don't want to kill people." Dahyun muttered as she fiddled her fingers. Seeing other demigods fighting against each other, with their grin as they are happy to kill one made her feel the fear for her life, she always wanted to be a normal human being but then she found out she is a demigod, an unclaimed, her life became upside down because of it. She only joined Camp Half-Blood just to save his grandfather who was taken by a specific Chimera. "I can hurt them but only for my self-defense." She added before looking at him, "When did you first came here, Felix?" she asked him.

"Is that you're way to take down an enemy? Get up." She mocked her again.

@k. dahyun Felix settled beside her upon being tugged down, placing her weapon down beside her. It felt strangely comforting to have his weapon in his hands again, as awful as the idea was that he might have to do some fighting if anyone wandered across their hiding spot. So long as they were out of the way of the flag though, they’d be fairly safe. “How does it feel to stand on it?” He inquired, sitting on a round rock not too far from her. A small smile graced his lips and he shook his head. “Don’t worry about it, it could’ve happened to anyone. The first time is always really disorienting to start off with. You’ll be used to it by next week, I’m sure!”

@b. joohyun Yuqi stumbles when her foot suddenly gets in, and almost trips herself before she catches her balance again. "I told you I am new to this!" Being good in physical sports and combat is a total different thing, at least for Yuqi. She would never imagine herself being humiliated like that by others of her age, but she can say for sure sports is still her strength. "Obviously what I learn would be only a piece of cake for you..." She murmurs, a small pout visible on her face. But she still positions herself before her, this time legs spread wider to stabilize herself before she performs a turn and the sword hitting the side of the other girl's body.
x. minghao ( H. 2/8 - 25/8 ) [A] 3 years ago
@w. yibo Another game of capture the flag, and another day of Minghao playing medic for a bunch of reckless campers. This time, though, along with his medic kit, he kept his keychain for his bow and arrows attached to his lanyard looped through his belt loops so it wouldn't get lost or ripped from his person. The last time he had been a medic for a capture the flag game had been enough of a lesson learned for him to make sure he had a weapon on him as well, just in case some lost camper made their way over the border and he had to swoop in to save them again. One poisoned scorpion sting was enough to last him for the rest of his life. He did not want a repeat, so the keychain would remain on his person while he surveyed the game from the sidelines.

One of these days, he hoped he would actually be able to play, but Apollo kids always got stuck in the trees to pick off campers as archers or were medics on the sidelines. He just wanted to be on the ground to work on his sword skills for once, but /no/. He didn't really mind being on the sides for this game, though, if he were being honest. It hadn't been that long since the last game that had sent him to the infirmary, and he had plans to keep this game infirmary visit free unless he was there for medical help. He would only accept tiny scraps and bruises that he could heal on his own in his cabin later, and that was if he /had/ to get any injuries.

So he kept to the sidelines, watching the game with trained eyes to watch for any campers that needed to be dragged out of the game or any other types of emergencies.

// sorry for this cruddy starter and for how long it took ;;;;

@l. felix She slowly getting off her running shoes and socks before she saw a large spot of red around her knee cap. Dahyun sighs abd shakes her head once more, she is still hoping that Felix gets through and they would be safe until the game is over. She eventually saw him getting back into their place, she dragged him down to duck just in case that he would not get knocked put of someone's weapon, "Thanks Felix..." She thanked him before looking at her foot and sighs. "It is pretty much of a sprain but the pain is worst than it." She explained and looks up, "I really hate it when I got stumbled by my own stupidity." She muttered.

@k. dahyun Once the girl was settled down, Felix beamed and nodded to her. “I’ll do my best. See you in a second then,” He said. Now that he was out of the disruptive violence of it all, he’d calmed down quite a bit. Brushing a stray tuft of blond hair out if his eyes, he strode off through the woods. He only panicked once, and that was because yet another spear landed at his feet. Dear gods, why was it always spears? The longest pointiest weapons that people - quite understandably- didn’t like anywhere near them. However apart from his little scare that left him shouting every curse under the sun at the trees where it’d come from, he picked up the metal rods on the ground along with his own sword. Despite how he couldn’t use it well aside from a few lucky swings he might get, having it back in his hand was a great relief. “How’s your foot?” Felix called as he made he return, momentarily forgetting that they were trying to hide. Sheepishly quieting himself, Felix headed back over. “Is it sprained, so you think?”

@l. felix "No hete-what?" Dahyun heard his mumble before shaking her head away, what is more important is that they have to find a shelter to hide and avoid any fights as much as possible. She doesn't want to be a burden to someone she met just now and also from an enemy team just because she had an injury in her left foot. Once they found a shelter, he gently put her down so the unclaimed would rest and ease the pain from her wound, "O-okay, just don't get yourself in a conflict." She told him, allowing the other to go back from where they were before to pick up their weapons while Dahyun rests against the mossy trunk as she tries to see how bad her injury in her foot.

@k. dahyun After managing to haul his new companion back to her feet, he slipped his arm around her middle, hoisting her up with her arm around his neck. “No hetero,” He mumbled under his breath. Maybe that would make it less strange for them both for Felix to be holding a girl against his side. He could always come back for their weapons later, it seemed easiest to help her like he was for the time being. Felix himself was still rather embarrassed that he’d stopped to help a member of the opposing team - his group probably wouldn’t be happy they were a man down because Felix was too nice. He was sort of glad he’d stopped though. The girl might’ve gotten trampled or knocked out if he’d just ignored her. “This seem like a good enough spot?” He asked. The clearing they were in was fairly sheltered, not too deep into the woods still. If they were careful, it would be a good hiding spot until the game was over. “Nice to meet you Dahyun. Is it alright if I go get our weapons? I’ll be quick, it’s just not good for us to be defenceless out here.”

[anyone wanna randomly rp sksksks]

The wind was blowing slightly, freshening up the day that otherwise would feel a little too hot thanks to the sun. Sam walked down the street, his eyes fixed on the floor, brows furrowed and hands stuffed in his pockets, as much as he tried to keep it clear his mind wandered as a million thoughts crossed him.

It was not that the day was particularly stressful, and to be honest, nothing had really gone wrong, however, he couldn’t wash off a pang of worry that had been bothering him for the past few hours. He hated the feeling, and he hated knowing that the reason for his anxiety was not that big of a deal.

His feet moved on their own accord, knowing exactly where he was heading to, there was no other place he would rather be, and every time he feels bothered, he would head down exactly the same path that had become so familiar to him.

@l. felix Dahyun then slowly gets up with the help of the other before they start avoiding any chaos in their way, he introduced himself as Felix and she couldn't even crack a smile because of the searing pain in her foot. "My name is Dahyun... and yeah, this is my first time." She introduced herself to him before they found a shelter to cover themselves while the others go fighting each enemy team they could find.

@k. dahyun On the chaos of things, Felix was glad he’d stopped and approached the girl. She seemed so panicked, poor thing. Maybe she was unclaimed. The boy knew how nerve wracking it was to be unclaimed for the first little while, after all he himself had only been claimed by his mother the previous summer. And then being thrown into a big bad game like capture the flag? It was a little unfair. Plus, while capture the flag involved a lot of sword fighting, spears and knives, people rarely died, even if it was a big scare. “I won’t, don’t worry,” He said gently, trying to keep his voice soft. He didn’t want to end up freaking her out even more, after all. “Oh my gods,” He huffed under his breath. Felix was having his own little panic over where he could take the girl to hide until the horn blew to signal the victory of one of the teams. Eventually, he dropped his long-bladed sword with a clatter, taking her hand and with all his might tugging to try and help her to her feet. “Ah, I’m Felix by the way, is it your first time playing capture the flag?”
