Heejin frowned at the screen of her phone. It was just embarrassing to be getting lost so frequently, but compared to her previous homes, this one was too big. She could call her friend again, but it had only been a couple days since she frantically tried calling those close to her for directions or help... She couldn't take that embarrassment again. She was so engrossed in reading the overly complicated map and trying to comprehend all the different icons and maps and... She nearly jumped out of her skin when she realized she was standing close to someone who called out to her. "Ah-" She was at a loss for words, she was easily to startle. "Heejin-"

she hummed as soon as she walks around the central park, after her school she had to wind up from her homework as it was drowning her mind. plus, her work from the pizza place was on hold as the owner had to go somewhere else today. she keeps walking as she looked at the children playing, dogs running with their owners and then someone starts to call on her. the puppet craned her neck to the side as she sees someone looking at him, minjeong blinked and pointed at her. "me?" she responded and introduced her name regardless that she doesn't know him. "my name is minjeong!" she smiles widely.

Sitting on a large blanket underneath one of the many trees, he rests beside a small cooler, sandals and hat over on his other side, and guitar held in his hands. His fingers delicately pluck at the strings, playing any old tune that comes to mind, and a smile as warm as the sun's heat spreads across his face. It was good to be out and about, good to chill at the park and watch the sunset again. Felt nice to experience the day pass, have passerby after passerby join him and listen to him play or chat with him; felt nice to watch them come and go and enjoy themselves... It felt nice to see the sun touch the horizon and blend the blue color of the sky with this pretty orange while beautiful shades of red and soft purple hues embellish the clouds. it felt nice to have the subtle breeze blow through his hair and on his skin. He was on cloud nine, it felt like... And then he laid eyes upon the face of someone he swears he knows from somewhere. "Hey, you!" he calls. "What's your name?"

*after her class was finished, she starts to work to a small shop that delivers their specialty drinks then she starts running through the streets to deliver the order without rest*

without thinking, he quickly places his cig between his lips and removes his outer coat to toss it over the blonde's shoulders, providing her some solace from winter's chill while not paying the dog any mind until he moves away. "pesky little , isn't he?" he says, shaking his head and looking down at the pup with sigh. this was just another reminder why he didn't have any pets.

You don’t actually believe-
her words were put to a halt as a soaking wet dog and his equally soaked owner cause a bit of a commotion near the fountain. much to her horror and dismay the wet mutt trots over towards in their direction dragging his upset owner with him. the dog seemed to take interest in her which only made her body tense as the small paw prods at her leg. she only stares at the thing for all but five seconds and then averts her gaze to the blonde.

swimming in December isn’t the wisest of choices.
she says , gaze hovering down at the creature that still paws at her. disgusting. she pets the wet heathen anyways.

after living a year in new zealand and 4 months in australia, she had come to love the beach. truly, there was no better feeling than soaking in the sun and going for a swim on a hot summer day. summer. 'what kind of maniac would go for a swim in plain december?' was probably what one would think upon seeing a rather soaked and visibly upset roseanne. because exactly three minutes ago, hank had decided to yank her through the park in pursuit of a furry fiend (that poor squirrel), and had managed to end up in a fountain, with his owner. it was a spectacle, but then again, this was new york...
"you are in so much trouble mister!" the blonde spoke through shivers while the pup ignored her, wagging his tail at the two individuals that seemed to be striking up a conversation. "good day." she attempted to smile through her teeth chattering as hank tried to paw at the pretty young lady. "no, you get no 'good boy' pets today, heaps of trouble i tell you." she whispered at her furry companion. "sorry 'bout that!"

unable to tell if she was actually joking, he lets out an unsure chuckle and takes another puff, side-eyeing her as he does though his gaze adjusts on the scene before them once again. "you don't want me to ask about your patch knowledge, but admit you're an arsonist... interesting." the nosy side of him wants to inquire more about the strange individual he happened to be conversing with based on this alone, but decides it's probably better he doesn't know. he doesn't want to end up one of the objects of her arson. "didn't miss a cab, no... just waiting. what about you? looking to start a fire?"

deadpans in all seriousness until she decides to continue on with truth - not like she owed it to him but she supposes since he had been honest with her
more so a comfort object more than anything.
if you do try to quit don’t use patches. they’re not necessarily a scam but less than 10% of patch users have successfully stopped smoking. don’t ask how i know. anyways, what are you doing? did you miss a cab?

"bad habit i'm struggling to break," he responds, voice drifting off with his gaze in thought momentarily. he removes the cig from his lips and shifts his focus back to her with a nod of the head though. "what about you? i imagine that's what the lighter's for, but you don't look it either."

I wouldn’t take you for a smoke , either.
she says , eyes flickering down to the cancer stick between the males lips while shoving the lighter back in the pocket of her cargo pants

briefly uses the lighter before handing it back and taking a huff of his cig, a light laugh leaving him as well. "what do you take me for? i wouldn't dare steal from a lovely lady."

and don’t pocket it either.

unusual to her normal standoffish behavior, lisa digs in her pant pocket to pull out a purple steel lighter and holds it out for the stranger

with a cigarette to his lips, he asks, "hey, does anyone have a lighter i can borrow?"
