rps and aus that promote facechasing (lemme talk about facechasing)

i still love these rps-- they're fun and i join them bc it really depends on the people within them. but if you think about it-- the whole base of these kinds of rps tend to be facechasing? or rather- it's kind of inevitable? none of us are free from this because this is something i bet EVERYONE has done before. it's common it happens but there are certain types of facechasing that are taboo and others that are looked over. like ignoring people just to talk to one person: i've done this a load of times because i'm too lazy and can't be bothered? like i'll talk to you in chat but i really don't want to talk to you on my wall yfeel? 

anyways here are those ones that i think promote facechasing (of every kind)

1. nonau / chatroom-based

2. greek mythology au 

3. matchmaking 

4. any kind of rp where your character is based off of something (greek gods, marvel characters, disney characters, etc)

5. EVERY RP EVER

you all know it happens. baekhyun will hit up chanyeol not just because wow chanyeol has a cool character but bc it's chanyeol and chanyeol + baekhyun = chanbaek. oF COURSE this could happen and baekhyun and chanyeol could flourish into a really great, healthy relationship with an EXCELLENT PLOT and whatever

but it could also turn into a flop of a relationship where the two of them are only together bc 1!!11! chanbaek !!!!!!1!!!~~~

i have facechased before. we all have at some point in time. if you don't think you have-- you have probably userchased. which is JUST AS BAD. 

what makes facechasing horrible and not so bad?

personally, i don't think seeing kai and krystal get together because well it's kaistal is horrible. seeing kai and krystal be together bc kaistal but they only talk to each other and are only active in the chatroom when the other is active in the chatroom-- that's bad. because that sets them apart from the rp and ykno if you want to do that why don't you just make a private rp and save us all the problem of you

there is also, for example, this bae suzy who's ultimate bias is jhope and she talks to him bc he's jhope. that isn't HORRIBLE if she's also talking to other people and is being active in the chatroom and when someone asks her to rp bc "wow you've got a great character + i love ur writing style!" then yea ok that's fine. also if it was because "wow jhope is actually really cool and we like a lot of the same things and guys i know this is facechasing bUT I LOVE HIM" bc of his personality, his writing, and whatever else that isn't his overall faceclaim, you feel me?

i was just going to talk about those tropes and aus but i needed to say more stuff

so yea-- ignoring people is bad. facechasing its very grey but inevitable because we're humans and most of us (hell, all of us) are hormonal fanatics who love our biases and wouldn't mind dating them. OR we're hardcore shippers that wouldn't mind being a part of our otp

idk where i'm getting at but do you catch my drift?

facechasing is inevitable, we've all done it. when you see lee donghae enter the room and you say "hnng it's a donghae" or when chaerin says hi you say "wow a chaerin i love 2ne1" that's facechasing. because yeah, you aren't (technically) hopping on their nor are you asking them to be your life partner, but it is facechasing if you really think about it because: you are giving them attention and noticing them because they have a certain faceclaim. 

what's the line between wanting to be their friend and wanting to date them?

if you think about it-- all of rpr is facechasing. it's just inevitable like i said HOW MANY TIMES and there is really no way to avoid it. you can prevent people from doing what i said above (which is ignoring people, not facechasing). facechasing is like nepotism. it's wrong, it's bad, but sometimes it just has to be done or it's coded in our dna
