⥈ The Forgotten Islands

@〄 Jeon Jungkook After having spent hours searching the deep seas for something once lost, Jimin finally found it, making his way back to the land. but once he was able to see the rays of the sun through the water, the waves became violent; pushing the young merman down deeper into the sea. Every time he tried to make his way up it would just push him back down, again and again. His strength was beginning to weaken as the wild waves made him dizzy and hurt his skin, feeling like razers. By some miracle Jimin reached the shores of the island, but the journey there had left him weak. Letting the waters push him up onto the sand the rest of the way, and resting there for a while.

She stretched herself out as she walked along the shore, listening to the waves rolling in and out, almost calling to her before she grinned, running into the waves and wading up to her waist, beginning to swim as her tail took over from her legs, allowing her to swim faster until she reached a relatively calm point in the ocean, allowing herself to float on top of the waves as they gently rocked her whilst she stared at the clouds in the blue sky.

@⥈Park Jimin *walking down the forgotten island, I apparently found myself walking along the sand. scanning each and every bit of the area for some items i could use to help out for work. exploring picking up anything deem worthy of being able to be worked on to be turned into something lovely. Being a new apprentice, definitely a new experience. But work acquired, so i sought out.

"FFFFFUCCCK!!"

I jump out of the airship when I hear the alarm sounding off. 'We'd make it to the desert', they said. 'Half a tank would do you just fine', they told me. Well, I'll be sure to send my regards to that crook Mist miner when I return from the afterlife. I come tumbling to the sea, hitting the water with an enormous splash. My cheeks puff, holding my breath as I swim to shore. Heavy, soggy, torn clothes hang from my body, and I stub my toe on a large seashell. "Ouch, motherer! Son. of a. ! You inconsiderate seaer!" I crash into the sand, synchronizing my ship ascending into the mountain's side. I watch in horror as flames erupt from them, mirroring my distress mode as I clutch my throbbing foot.

"I just paid that off, too," I mumble, slamming the side of my face into the sand with a mournful huff. I close my eyes for a split second. When I reopen them, I see tiny mask people holding a bolder in their hand and smashing me in the head with it. Blackout. I don't wake up for Gods knows how many hours stripped of my weapons and clothes. Fantastic! What else could go wrong? Oh, that's right. Did I mention I'm upside down over a firepit next to you? Wait, who the hell are you anyway?"

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ A gentle smile tugged at the corners of her lips, looking over at you. "I had a feeling you would say that, but you sir most certainly needed your rest and recover." She paused, taking a moment to assess your injuries from head to toe, pleased to see the progress you've made. "It seemed to have paid off." She lightly nudged her shoulders into you playfully. "Not that you seem to be getting about successful. I must ask and, please be honest with me, or I will find out." Kitty leaned close to inspect your expression closely. "On a scale of 1 to 10, how are you feeling?"

@❦ Kitty Li The fresh dew gives a refreshing feeling for him who just woke up. A smile appeared across his face when Kitty greeted him. He stiffle a yawn, not because of being sleepy but just letting out the air in his lungs. “Well...” He reached for his shoulder and rubbed it while looking at her. “I had a decent sleep. How about you? You should’ve woken me up.”

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ The princess pivoted on her heels once she heard the sound of familiarity linger in the air. Relief swept through her once she saw that it was you and the seemed to be more mobile than the day before. Kitty gave your frame a quick once over to ensure that you were injury-free. She was not willing to risk moving you if your body wasn't up to the task. "Good morning, sir Taeyang." She greeted with a formal head nod. "I'm glad to see you are feeling much better. Where you able to get a decent amount of rest?" She questioned, hoping that she hadn't been the reason for your awakening.

@❦ Kitty Li Deep in his slumber, the lone wolf twist and turn the whole night till the chirp of the birds and frogs reached his ears. Groaning, Taeyang slowly flatter his eyes open, blinking to make sense of what’s initially in front of him. His mind vaguely recalled the incident last night till he straightened his head and noticed that the woman is nowhere to be found. His tendons and muscle fiber seemed to have regenerated well when he attempt to stand up and cautiously move his injured leg. The pain is gone and not even an ache. Taeyang quickly unwraps the cloth around his leg and the once open wound now appears like a graze. Relieved, he looked around to search the cave for Kitty. His heart skipped in fear that something bad happened to the woman when she is nowhere to be found inside the cave. Then he walked outside and finally breathes to see her standing there. “Good morning.” He beamed, stretching his arms to welcome the morning sun.

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ The hours ticked by as the princess keep a wary eye out for intruders. Before either one of them realized it, the slow rising of the dawn was upon them. The sunlight's morning rays peek through the vines and the lush greenery of the forest canopy. Soft greetings of birds tweet to one another, accompanied by frogs' chirping playing along the nearby pond. Streamlike sounds and gentle waters echoed throughout the cave that was no longer silenced by rainwater's frantic drumming. It was a beautiful morning, one that Kitty had never seen even in her own land, truly one of a kind. A small yawn passed through her as she stretched her long limbs then peered over at you as you were sound asleep. She stood at once to kick dirt over the remaining embers then took a cautious step outside the cave. No signs of hostiles or unfriendly wildlife to be found, just the glory of a lovely morning. She'd finally felt their luck might be turning around, taking the sign of this fair morning as a positive omen.

@❦ Kitty Li A smile formed at the wolf’s face to see the woman more focused to the present situation. Taeyang always believed that to survive, it is better to focus their energy to stay alive and remain on the down low in avoiding another encounter with the hunters. “Are you sure?” Taeyang felt the need to ask to ensure that Kitty would be fine to take the first watch. He really wanted to protest to do it instead but he’ll be lying to say he doesnt feel the heaviness of his eyes. So he leaned back against rough cold wall of the cave, letting the darkness of sleep overcome his consciousness.

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ Turning to the gentle touch on her hand, Kitty was most grateful for your comfort. Even though you owed her nothing and she owed your very life, the princess appreciated his kindness nonetheless. Eyeing you, she knew that she didn’t have time to crack and crumble under pressure. Kitty put on a brave face then agreed to keep her mind focus on the task at hand, for it was a straightforward one. Get out alive. Simple as it sounds, the pair would soon realize that it would be no easy task indeed. “Okay, well, in that case. We should at least try and get some rest.” The Kitsune’s gaze focused on the heavy raindrops outside the cave followed but a hefty breath. “It looks safe enough, but I’ll take watch first. Please rest yourself, Mister Taeyang.”

@❦ Kitty Li She pointed out a valid reason to blame herself since Youngbae now knows that the woman is someone from authority. Unsure about the things the woman said, he looked back at the fire lit woods. He wanted to comfort the woman but the truth was said, if she didn’t run then they wouldn’t be in this predicament. ”I understand that. And I’m sorry you feel that way, Kat. But it happened already. we just have to find a solution how to stay alive and get out of this island.” Youngbae’s fell upon his injured leg and gently touched it. The swelling started to subside and the wolf know it will take another day for it to be totally healed. The woman spoke about an old man stating that she is not fit to rule. Youngbae tilted his head and glance at her to watch her carefully. He will never understand such burden but he found a sense accountability to get them out of there alive. “Look.” He sighed and shuffled himself closer to the woman. His hand reached and touched her hand, gently squeezing it. “I’m gonna be fine by tomorrow. Let’s just stay alive till my mate comes to fly us out of here.”

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ Her heart was heavy with regret that much was clear when her solemn gaze fell upon him. "Accident or not, they were my people and my friends, so their blood is on my hands when it was my fault the ship crashed landed in the first place." She sighed, rubbing her slender fingers over her features. "If hadn't bent so stubborn hell-bent the task, we may haven't been in this mess. And they would still be alive." Kitty took a moment to point at your injured leg. "You, you would haven't gotten injured if I'd taken the time to listen instead of running off my emotions...Maybe the old man is right; maybe I'm not fit to rule yet." Her eyes traveled towards the dim lighting outside the cave. Wondering what the next best move would be since the duo was left trapped on the island. Your injury wasn't the best-case scenario as it limited mobility, but Kitty knew that you'd be doomed if you lingered around for the natives to find you. Stuck between a rock and a hard place, the princess's nerves began to rattle, searching for a solution.

@❦ Kitty Li Taeyang smiled to assure the lady that he understood what she meant. After all, he knows not all royalty wanted to be addressed in such formality. He shifted on the ground he’s sitting on, trying to get comfortable and have and an open ears. Rubbing his nose, Taeyang noticed the sudden change in her presentation but simply didn’t mind it and nodded. “Hey. It wasn’t your fault. It clearly sounded like an accident. Besides you were captured by those hooligans.”

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ “T-Thank you…” There was a dull light that left the Kitsune princess’s eyes upon hearing you mention being taught to respect those in power. It hurt her a little knowing the world could be so unfair. She wholeheartedly believed that everyone was born and created equal. Therefore, respect should be a universal right to all creatures, regardless of status. A tiny smile appeared on her lips, hoping it erased the uneasiness writing on her visage. “To be honest...I don’t know.” I woke with a ringing in my head. Burning parts scattered everywhere, and no one answer when I called out to check for survives. Oh god. I should’ve tried harder to look, shouldn’t I?” For the first time since she’s met you, there was a crack in her walls. Always the collected diplomatic leader Kitty never let the vulnerable side of her seep through. She was a leader, a female warrior amongst her people. She couldn’t afford to let her personal feels every get the best of her if it wasn’t in purpose for the good of the people. But this had left her feeling weak, hopeless, and guilty. “I ed up so bad…” She had felt as if she failed them all, and she was now atoning for her sins.

@❦ Kitty Li Taeyang stare at the woman with a arched eye brow since her remark towards the information about the man who paid him for this rescue is somewhat filled with displeasure. He wondered concerning her relation to the old man. But rather then asking, the lone wolf decided to not ask. The mission is to rescue and nothing else. “I beg your pardon. Slaves like me are taught to respect those in power. But hey,” Taeyang beamed by shrugging his shoulders since the kitsune made a valid point. “I dont mind being casual with anyone.”

Once again, Taeyang was left in awe to see the woman chant in an unfamiliar language as the wood burst into flames. He needed to get used to this sort of magic since most of his life, he spend in the comforts of a clan. Taeyang listened and glance back at the woman to caught her staring at him. “I see. Are you the only one who survived?”

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ “Typical,” Kitty sighed with discontent. “Leave up to that man to simply pay someone off do his handiwork.” Resting her back on the wall behind her, she then folded her arms across her chest, taking in all aspects of the information represented to her. They needed to formulate a plan and quickly. Upon hearing the discomfort and formality present in your voice, Kitty immediately waved her hand, wanting to put an end to it. “No, no, please, don’t...I’m just the same as you. Royalty does not make me any more or less important. We are all just simply beings, creatures of this world burn under various circumstances. Please treat me as an equal.” The princess’s eye roamed over to the fire. The flames began to grumble and begged for more wood to satiate it inferno hungrier. Casting a wooden piece or two into the fire, she recited a chant in her native tongue to encourage the embers to come alive. Her ears prepped upward when your question came. It was almost as if there was an underlying layer of suspicion within your tone. Centering you as her focal point, Kitty studied for your profile flicking in the shadows. “There was a fight on board...More like a great debate, really."

@❦ Kitty Li Her request is a fair and noble one. So after being honest with the said woman, a sigh of relief escaped from his lips.
“Yes. He paid a good amount and even promised to give me more gold once I take you home safely.” He continued on for the fact that maybe it can cheer the woman a bit. Their current predicament is already bad and it is even worse that he doesn’t know anything about the said island and what other creatures lives in there. Now that he just lost the only form of communication from the rest of the world, he can only hope that his best buddy will come just in time to get them out of there. “Yeah he is a wolf like me. There’s nothing to be worried about, he is harmless as well.” I briefly laughed thinking about his friend. Then his mouth went agape. His eyes wide stunned to know who the woman really is. “Ehem...” he cleared his throat and now felt stupid since he is acting so casual in front of a royal. “Sorry I didn’t know, your highness. I- mean Kat.” He dipped his head while reaching back to rub his nape. Sheepishly grinning, he glance at his injured leg and noticed that it wasn’t throbbing anymore. It could be that the inflammation have calm down but the depth of the said wound is deep enough that it will take another day before he is fully healed. “You know” Taeyang spoke again and decided to stare at the fire. “a lot of people are looking for you. What really happened?”

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ Judging by the expressiveness of your panicked gaze, the princess quickly gathered that they’ve most be in some pretty deep . Listening carefully as you spoke about your status, it came as no surprise in which she gathered by the brand symbol on your arm. She was too polite to draw attention to it herself, so kept silent, allowing you to explain. A smile came to her lips as she rested her chin on her palm. “A man, you say?” There was already without a shadow of a doubt that man in question was her father, the Kitsune king. Tilting her head looking at him, she shook her head, and her grin widened, hoping it would put you at ease. “Well, Mister Taeyang lucky for you, I’m not a racist, nor do I believe one party is better than others due to class nor statues. My boyfriend is a former wolf slave, so please, you have nothing to fear.” Going back to being an attentive listener, Kitty took in all the information provided. “Pilot friend?” It was then she’d wondered if her fellow sister Irene had offered her boyfriend Jiyong pilot skills for this mission. He was a wolf as well; perhaps the two had known each other? This thought put her mind at ease in hopes her friends and family had been looking for her. With a deep breath, she parted her lips. “Alright, since you were so kind as to share with me, I’ll introduce myself properly. I’m Princess Katherine Li of the Kitsune Flame tribe and era to the throne. But as previously stated, please call me Kitty or Kat.”

@❦ Kitty Li The wolf kept his vision around him but soon realised that his bag might have been washed away by the raging water when he jumped off the cliff into the river. Defeated by fate, Taeyang face contorted in a frustrated manner and now faced with a dilemna on how they get out of the isolated island. He turned to the woman when she finally spoke of such authority but he could swear to himself that she’s charming, presenting herself with such dignity. “Uh well..” Taeyang found himself lost for words, unsure if it is safe to disclose the truth but Kat is right. If they are to work together his honesty is much needed. “See..” he sighed and bite his bottom lip before locking eyes with her. “I’m a slave at Heleo and I get by through rescuing and protecting anyone who pays. I guess my reputation precedes me since a man from your kingdom approached me and pay me a good sum of money to save you.” He begin to open up but had no clue how the woman would react. “I don’t know if it is safe to say this but I’m no ordinary slave. I’m actually a werewolf. And I’m assuming you’re not just a woman either.” He gulped, hoping his assumptions are not wrong. “After you ran off, the hunters cornered me to a cliff and I have no choice but to jump into the river. Hence, we’re here. i have a bag that contains food, weapons and clothing I prepared for this mission. One of the things I’m looking for which is important is a machine my pilot friend gave me in order to send a message so he can pick us up. I think they are washed up after I jump. Otherwise, we have to wait for 6 days before my friend comes back. I told him to give me six days to check the island. If you’re not here, he will come back.”

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ Kitty's eyes narrowed on you with great suspicion as if there was apart of the information that wasn't sharing with her. The princess sighed wearily before shifting her position to a much more comfortable one then folded her arms across her chest. "You know...if we are stuck in this together and hope to make it out of here alive, you're going to have be honest with me." She tilted her head in a kinda manner any cute vixen would to get what she wanted. "Don't you agreed mister?" She smiled, scooting closer to him, holding his gaze with warmth in hers. "Please, be a bit more specific. Who do you work for?" She asked in a soft voice, but there was a hint of authoritarianism that resided in her speak. Thrown aback when the wolf seemed to break out into panic, looking for his belongings. "You're stuff?" She questioned in a befuddled voice, not sure how she could be of service to him. "What stuff?"

@❦ Kitty Li His leg throb but the pressure helped a lot to stop the minor bleeding. Her palm touched his. Taeyang smiled as he noticed how soft the woman’s hand with his calloused one. Retracting his hand away after the woman gripped his hand, the wolf’s arched a brow upon hearing her name. “Kitty Kat?” He said puzzled or amused but immediately hide the odd chuckle with his hand. The situation is serious but his mischievous side tickles his playful attitude. Clearing his throat, he nodded when she called him by name. The question isnt hard to answer when he said, “Oh.” He mouthed and reached for his nape and scratched it. “A guy asked me to search for you.” In his mind, it is better to not talk about how much they paid him to find and rescue the said noblewoman. “They said you’ve been missing for awhile now and it’s all over the hideline at Central Post. And on the how...” Taeyang paused and bite the corner of his lip, unsure if he should disclose that he is a werewolf. “I asked for a friend to fly me over to the route that you’re scheduled to venture through and luckily we found this island. and so, i saw some few remnants of the said airship and saw you being captured. Speaking of airship, I need to give him a buzz.” He kept shifting and turning his head to both his side, only to gaze at the woman with a widen eyes. “My stuff is gone.”

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ "Sorry," She mumbled knowing that with the pressure applied to his leg could come pain. Hearing his words she knew he was just trying to make her feel better. Removing her fingers from his calf she slipped them into his hand giving him a fit grip. "I'm Kitty but you call me Kat." Looking over at the young male she had few questions in mind for him as well. What was he doing here? Who sent him to come find her? "S-so Taeyang," She began lightly readjusting her posture rubber the chills away from her legs. "Do you mind if I ask why you're here on the forgotten islands and how?"

@❦ Kitty Li Taeyang can tell that the noble woman is polite and formal to a point that he seemed ill mannered if he talked badly to her. The way he sees it, she is not fragile but someone that needed help at this kind of situation. A lot of questions registered in his mind. Nevertheless, his vision and instinct never lies, the woman is feeling guilty and her wounds are not healing well. The woman stood up and he watched her silently and wanted to protest when she suddenly torn a piece of her skirt and wrapped it around his open wound. “Oh !” He grunt to feel the pressure on his leg but bites his bottom lip to hear words of apology. “Hey it’s okay. This things happen.” He cleared his throat not wanting to make the lady guilty. “And I would’ve run too if I’m in your shoes. By the way I’m Taeyang.” He offered his hand and dips his head, hoping to make an eye contact.

@☾ Dong Youngbae ￥ The logs cracked and popped chipping away wooden. The embers casted pieces out of the pile every now and again. Kitty resting on her knees took the rare moment of peace to recompose herself for it had be a long day. When the wolf’s voice passed through her ears she lifted her gaze to his. Her head throbbing like crazy, her skin complained about the various scratches inflected but she kept her smile. The princess eyes were warm and pleasant like any well practiced politician but rooted there was cloak of kindness in them. She didn’t want the wolf worry about her state of being knowing he was in far worst shape. It had been her fault after all.

“It’s just a slight cut and bruises. Not worry.” The young woman stood then came over to injury man kneeling by his side. Looking over at the wound on his calf she sighed regrettably. Guilt pleaded her seeing the poor state he was in. She reached of the fabric on her skirt torn a good length of it to create a bandage. She then began wrapped the wound to stop the bleeding with the added pressure. “I’m sorry.” She finally said no longer able to meet the wolf’s eyes.

@❦ Kitty Li By this time, Taeyang gained his consciousness back and wanted to make a fuss about the way the woman left him before. On contrary, the kitsune glowed in front of him. He didn’t how to react since he haven’t encountered a lot of creatures to distinguish which one she is. “Hey.what-“ Taeyang gasp and found himself on the woman’s back. He scoffed in disbelief and blinked his eyes when he was laid safely against a rock. His eyes never left the woman. The man held this information from him. Is she somewhat human? Is she someone dangerous? But her aura radiates warmth. “Thanks.” Taeyang softly respond when the woman light the flame. It’s not like he needed the fire to warm him up nor the darkness bothered him. Looking at the flickering flame comforted the said wolf.
‘At least say something.’ He stole a glance at the woman and noticed the cuts and burns that is very well visible on her milky skin. “How are your wounds?”
