observation deck

@Taryne V. The daq'i didn't notice or care much for the people that came and went from the observation deck. Her pager hadn't gone off in some hours, and that's how long she had been leaning and staring out the glass toward the universe. It was beautiful as it as haunting- a stark reminder of how insufficient Ra'seca was to forging her own destiny. She couldn't change the flow of destiny by her own strength, proven over the last 13 years of her existence. They weren't meant to be isolated creatures- only together could they survive and even more importantly live.

Her ears perked up to a voice near by, her eyes being the only part that darted to the figure- a female, with neon pink locks, also seeming to admire the outer works of the metal container they floated in. She hadn't seen or met the other before (possibly a new red light worker) so the shorter's guard raised, even though her expression remained stagnant. Ra'seca's eyes looked back out to the black abyss, allowing a heavy pause to create some distance between them. "Sure." the daq'i spoke dryly, voice soft in contempt. She was jaded beyond envy, and only so much "beauty" could do that to a person. Her home was "right there"- mocking her eyes and heart as much as it encouraged her. She preferred to be alone, but she was so consumed in her mental wormhole she didn't have the energy to tell the other to observe elsewhere.

@Ra’seca P. It wasn't like Taryne to have nothing to do. Her daily schedule was always filled from top to bottom. However, today didn't see as many ships coming and going as expected, so she found herself at the observation deck observing the vastness of the universe spread out before her. It was actually pretty magnificent outside of this floating piece of metal where simulated environments were rampant. The rays from the sun illuminated much of the surrounding planets, making it seem ethereal. Such beautiful worlds lying outside the scope of the eye– that was Phorix 5A32, her home planet. At this distance, made Taryne's chest tug a little in a way she couldn't explain.

She didn't realize before, but she wasn't alone on the observation deck. A few yards down the stretch, another girl was captivated by the sight. She rested peacefully against the glass, almost as if she was sleeping, but her eyes were wide open staring into space's dark abyss. I wonder what she's thinking about, Taryne wondered since she herself couldn't really put into words the feelings she felt. She didn't want to bother the latter, but something ultimately pulled her towards the woman. As if not to break the silence, Taryne muttered softly, "Beautiful isn't it." It was more a statement than a question, but hopefully it would catch her attention without disturbing her thoughts.

Ra’seca pressed her forehead to the layered glass and plastic of the space stations observation walls- the best seat to see the galaxy and it’s billion of stars, light years old and away from this hunk of junk called teccypso. The short lady rubbed the corner of her lips between her teeth, arms crossed over her chest as she stared at the beautiful, blue planet to the far right of the viewing deck. Her memories of home and the cooking of her mother filled her mind as she stared at her goal. She had to get out of here. She would get out of here. Whatever it took to be back with her family. 13 years had passed like a blur. So much has changed. The raven got lost in her thoughts as she just stared, playing out senerio’s of what her mom would be doing now. Would she be gardening? Chatting with her lady friends at a football game? Drinking in a new apartment? Did she find a better job yet? Did she finally leave Rick?
