the cantina

width must be 240; height can be anything

though a bit grungy, this is a popular destination for anyone looking to have a good time. there are often fights, but keep your head down and you will be fine.

Taryne V. 2 years ago
She could feel his eyes boring holes into her side as Taryne turned to take a sip from her drink. The corners of her lips curled up even as she pressed them to her glass in order to suppress another chuckle. "That was too pretty a bullet to dodge." Returning the toast, she spun around on her barstool to face the Thraicid. It probably wasn't wise to poke a bear, especially one armed with ammunition, but she couldn't help herself under the influence of liquid courage. "Ego not valuable enough for you?" A permanent smirk etched on her lips.

As she glanced to the side, however, she noticed one of her coworkers had come up to the bar. She would've been able to recognize the tall, lanky man anywhere. "Silar," she called out, not knowing if the man was even in his right mind to notice her. He seemed lost in thought despite the ruckus that was happening around him.

noir made sure that his mask was up and aban was tucked away in his ship before making it into the cantina, sure that he wasn't going to be recognised as he made it to the bar. he ordered a shot and downed it quickly before ordering some food, moving to sit at a booth so he was out of the way.
Silar D. 2 years ago
Stepping into the cantina with a heavy exhale, moving gently through the crowd to the wrap around bar, the thin tecc was able to slip through groups and individuals with no difficulty, moving around a stool and practically slouching back into it. He ran a slightly greasy hand through his dirt-blonde hair (with literal dirt and grease included), ordering himself a cheap beer with a couple credits he had. They had lost another kid in the dregs. Little girl, 4 years old. They had tried so hard to sustain her with oxygen and clean food…but the nutrition value of what they could afford was not enough to grow healthy muscles. Her lungs collapsed and she passed in her sister’s arms… now Silar was no drunkard, or a spender on his previous earnings for the week on the docks, but he really needed a break, just for a couple minutes…
He took the beer, nodding in gratitude to the tender as he sipped and stared off blankly in thought.

Once Bastet had finished more than half the bottle of water, Rhydian pet her atop the head and slowly savored the rest of it for himself as he watched the patrons of the cantina come and go.

Hearing the sudden bark of laughter from further down the bar, Naalo's piercing grey eyes shifted to study the woman who it belonged to with an almost predatory intensity. Usually, there were only two ways people reacted when the Thraicid was staring them down like that and he had been on the receiving end of both. Either they quickly looked away or fled altogether, wanting to keep their head down to ensure they saw another day. Or they saw it as an invitation to pick a fight. In the cantina, usually it was the latter, but Naalo found himself pleasantly surprised when the woman took it in stride and he couldn't suppress a chuckle of his own. "No, that there was more like dodging a bullet." He countered with a crooked smile, his upper lip curling back from pointed canines as he raised his glass in a little toast to her. "Just lucky she didn't get away with anything actually valuable."

It was after a long day's of work that Taryne found herself at the cantina. It was definitely rare, considering she already dealt with enough rowdy clients at the repair bay. But it was nothing an old fashioned couldn't fix. Turning aside on the barstool, she casually sipped at drink as she observed her surroundings. It was indeed crowded, or maybe she was just used to the minimal population of her workplace. The noise of conversations almost deafened her in comparison to the click-clacks of her tools.

That's when her ears picked up an exchange between two people a few feet away from her. It looked as if a Thraicid had his hands full dealing with a Daq'i who was perched on his lap. It looked too intimate an exchange to be happening in the midst of about a hundred strangers, but to each their own. Though she thought it rude to stare, she couldn't help but be intrigued. The sudden outburst, however, made her jolt as she watched the girl scurry off the officer and into the crowd. It left Taryne dumbstruck, but apparently she wasn't the only one.

Her eyes glanced at the Thraicid left hanging in the girl's wake. His dejection was almost too comical, enough for her to lose her composure. She released a hearty laugh before she knew it, and all attempts to mask it with a sip of her drink ultimately failed. Turning towards the stranger, Taryne remarked, "The good ones always get away in the end, huh?"

sorrel rubbed his eyes and stretched his arms to the side to try and get his back cracked, jumping in surprise when his hand smacked into something solid and looking to the side at somebody who had approached the bar. "oh my god, i'm so sorry i didn't see you there. i'm sorry. let me get you a drink?"
Xan V. 2 years ago
it had been a long day, as was evident by the throngs of people crowding the cantina tonight. xan had just rolled out of bed, so the sight of so many people made him click of his tongue with aggravation. the thraicid weaved his way through the gathered people to grab a drink and hopefully find a seat. there was little to no chance of a quiet evening, and while xan was hoping to wake up a little, something exciting (to get his blood pumping), wouldn't be so bad.

Sorrel was tired of being unable to get anybody's attention in the cantina and resigned himself to sitting by a surly guy, nodding at him once before sitting at his own water. When it was short, he dried out much quicker than normal because of his heritage, and he hated it—even the flower on his cheek was wilting slightly. "Sup buddy, how's it going?"
Rhydian E. [A] 2 years ago
Being the poor sod that he was, water was hard to come by. The water tankard in his ship had long since run dry and there was a limit in the public baths to how much a person could use. More than a few times a week, the water had shut off before he could fully get all of the shampoo out of his hair. That was just the misfortune those in the dregs all had to go through whenever a shipment from Europa was a little delayed. So getting a little extra water from a bar, regardless of how overpriced it was, was sometimes a necessity. Especially for a man working manual labor day in and day out. As the person sidled up next to him, Rhydian tipped his bottle towards him in a neighborly gesture in spite of the less than inviting expression before swiping one of the empty glasses off the bartop and going back to the entrance of the cantina. He stepped just outside and slid down to sit on the ground next to Bastet, pouring some water into the cup. The first sip was his to make sure there wasn't any lingering alcohol left, then he filled it up for the gigantic feline and let her drink her share.
Olivier L. 2 years ago
As always the cantina felt overcrowded, too many people of both the right and wrong kind shoving their way through the doors like their lives depended on it. Or maybe it did, he wouldn’t know. All Olivier was sure of was that he was going to snap soon if he didn’t get something in his system. Half stumbling over the tiny whatever-it-was and then having to dodge out of the way of some crazy woman not a second after were certainly not improvements to his mood, and his ears were pinned back solidly against his skull by the time the bar finally made it into his field of vision. “Hard liquor. Better keep your promise there, ‘keep.” Was his grim mutter to the bartender after fishing out a card of his own, disdainfully casting a glance at the next guy over. Seriously, water?
Rhydian E. [A] 2 years ago
"Stay there, girl. Watch the door." Rhydian instructed the gigantic feline who looked visibly dejected by not being able to accompany her companion inside of the cantina. Unfortunately, the crowded bar just wasn't a good place to bring a huge space leopard. Walking up to the counter, he leaned against it and slid a couple of credits across toward the bartender. "A couple of waters, please."

"Y'know there's a ration goin' on right now. I'm only supposed to give one per customer. But I can give ya all the liquor y'want, bub." The bartender told him with a rueful chuckle.

"Ah, yeah. I shoulda known. Just the one then, thanks." Rhydian gave a half hearted smile, resigning himself to having to split this one with Bast.
Naalo'yul Z. [A] 2 years ago
Naalo was a competitive man by nature. He wasn't afraid to rise to a challenge or do what needed to be done if it meant living another day. Reaching up a woman's skirt was decidedly one of the least horrible things he'd done to get the upper hand, no pun intended, but it had equally catastrophic possible outcomes. He would have expected to earn a matching bruise on his other cheek before he thought she'd climb into his lap, but he was happy with the less painful alternative. Not to mention the contact was kind of nice after a stressful day at work, even if she was a no good thief.

One big hand settled on the woman's hip, while the other remained splayed over her thigh. His fingertips idly traced over the edge of the card and he knew he could take it back at any moment, but he had to admit that the exchange intrigued him. He had to admire the woman's forwardness in taking what she wanted and asking questions later. That was most people on this floating scrap of metal, though. Taking initiative and not caring about the consequences was the only way to survive, but who said you couldn't have a good time as well? As her hands sunk into his hair, Naalo let out a low rumble of approval and tilted his head into her touch, watching her from beneath dark lashes. "Zzhoren. Now the question is, are you going to give me the same courtesy?" He asked with a smirk, already knowing that this was probably a woman who was full of secrets.

Before he'd even gotten an answer, though, he felt something else bump against him and jostle his hand aside. Naalo instinctively reached for the grip of his gun, his mind reeling as he realized the girl might have been a distraction for a more insidious plan. But then she was clamoring off his lap and hauling after a creature that was almost too small to make out. There goes the badge and the girl with it. Sighing and shaking his head in disappointment, Naalo sunk back into his chair. "Guess not." He murmured with a click of his tongue and reached back to grab his drink.

Ra'seca was having a wonderful game of cat and mouse with the cop, but she heard a weird beeping, before suddenly feeling something scurry up her skirt that was sharp and most defiantly not a hand, and she quickly yelped and shoved the cop away from her, spotting the droid as it zipped out from the cantina. "Hey!!" the female yelled, not wasting a moment and sprinting after the bugger, hands swiping to grab two blades from her boots as she went after the thing.
Noir 2 years ago
"Okay, go in, find the cop, and try to steal his ID without being seen." Noir whispered softly from the shadows outside the cantina, and Aban chirped before beeping at him furiously. "Shh, quiet! I know you can get out easily if you get caught but I'm not risking it, Aban."

The droid whirred as if to sigh before nodding its head, hopping down from Noir's hand and slipping through the door as somebody else entered. It carefully picked through the crowd to get to the bar, glad it was busy inside as it made it to the cop's chair and moved up. The ID should be...and the pocket was empty. The droid couldn't help but make a quiet beep in frustration and then realised it might not have been quiet, and it would have hopped down to run until it saw the ID under a woman's dress as she climbed happily into his lap. Aban chirped again and reached out to grab the ID, purposely bumping roughly against rhe cop's side before bolting out of there at a high speed.

((Sorry, sent a little too early ;;))

“What’s your name handsome?” She whispered, breathe bouncing of his lips from his close their were, slightly pulling back as she watched every part of his facial features for a response, his chiseled jaw, his sleek orbs, his slightly creased eyebrows and plump lips. She soothingly massaging the back of his temple as she waited, hoping to give his scalp some relief from all the stress of being a officer.

Nani smiled as the cop would have none of the bull shut (well, maybe some) as his large, warm hand slide up her skirt, pinky right on the ID card she just stole. She hummed as she tilted her head to one side, practically showing her doe like eyes off as she sipped on the edge of her drink while keeping eye contact with the gentleman. He wants to catch her. How y was that? But Nani was no idiot. “Not at all. I’ll do just that,” the raven haired girl moved her drink to sit next to the glowing green cocktail, standing up from her seat, placing her hands on the others shoulders as she opened her hips, straddling his waist as her dress hugged her hips harder, and she settled her heat right over his. She played with the ends of the cops hair softly as she looked down at him from her position in slight admiration. “Is this alright, sir?” She asked with a soft smirk, hands lacing behind his head, slightly woven into his soft locks. She used her thumbs to gently guide his head to rest in her now latched palms, making even more of a angle for her to hover over him, flirtatiously brushing her nose up to his as her lips parted. She wondered if his veined hands would travel further over her figure while they were there.

Before Teccypso, Naalo had spent enough of his life looking over his shoulder, waiting for the knife in the back. Then after arriving on the station, it was that coupled with the fact that pretty much everyone was looking for a piece of what you had and wouldn't hesitate to take it. So when the woman's hand ghosted down along his hip, his mind didn't immediately assume she was just coping a feel. Everything was regarded with carefully concealed suspicion. He knew very well where all his belongings were and exactly what was in that pocket. Putting on a crooked smile that was only half fake, Naalo reached out to let his hand ghost along the bare skin of her thigh peeking out between the top of her boots and the bottom of her little black dress. "Suppose you wont mind if I reciprocate then." He drawled as he rucked up the fabric to find the card that she'd hidden away. Instead of taking it back, though, he let his fingertips trace the edge of it and quirked a cocky brow like a cat who'd caught a mouse. "Now while I'm incredibly flattered that you want to know more about me, you could have just asked nicely, sweetheart."

Nani’s eyes practically sparkled at the cop acknowledged her playful presence, leaning her cheek onto her hand as she admired the other’s buff physique. “What happend here?” She spotted the males bruising, fingers reaching up gently to trace the outskirts of the bruise on the others cheek as she leaned out of her chair to “getting a closer look”, meanwhile the other hand slipping down to the cops pants pocket to slip out his academy ID, the same hand moving back to her lap as the card glossed up her dress and disappeared. She sat back as she laughed off her touchiness. “Sorry. I’m prone to physical touch.” She played it off so innocently, thanking the bar tender as a red drink was brought to her, taking it in both hands as she still observed the soldier .

Now with the perspiring glass of some neon green concoction in hand, Naalo felt quite content to forget the day he'd just gone through. Particularly the sore spot along his left cheekbone from where a Tecc had hauled off and hit him in the face when the cop had tried to get him to break up his soap box speech about the continued water rations in the dregs. Though he was pretty sure the man's hand hurt a lot more than his face. Thankfully, there was no shortage on alcohol, at least. When the woman sidled up next to him, he turned to quirk a brow at her, letting his gaze rake over her revealing form. Well, it was safe to say she didn't have any weapons on her. "Evenin'" He greeted back with a tip of his drink.

There were many places to be, a little lady like Ra'seca had to keep up. But a wonderful hot spot for prey was defiantly the cantina- where mixes of groups interacted, legal and illegally, but the place maintained a light air in spite of sections. Ra'seca had "free time" (she told her people where she would be and what she was up to), and came into the cantina in a little black dress with a cut out waist and rib area to show some skin, two black bows in her long raven hair and heeled black boots that reached her knees. She made it to the counter and ordered a sangria, not afraid to sit directly next to the y police officer while she waited. "Hi," she greeted the man, looking over to him with a sleek smile.

sorrel had made sure to count his money so he could stop by the cantina for real food, and he carefully looked around before adjusting the glasses on his face. he chewed his lip and looked through the coins in his hand, stepping up to the bar and huffing before climbing into a miraculously empty chair so he could be seen over the other giant people around him - he hated being short
Naalo'yul Z. [A] 2 years ago
The hydraulic hiss of the doors to the cantina opening welcomed Naalo inside before he was inundated with the noisy chatter of the patrons. Not that it was any different from anywhere else inside of this tin can that thousands of people called home. Everywhere was crowded and rowdy, but it was home. Quickly tucking his badge into his pocket, Naalo sat at the bar and waited for the bartender that knew him all too well to get his favorite drink.
