Cabin 7: Apollo's Cabin

The seventh cabin is Cabin Seven, the cabin representing the god of archery, music, poetry, prophecy, medicine and the sun, Apollo. The children of Apollo are some of the best archers (though the Hunters of Artemis would contest this). Cabin Seven is also famous for their musical talents, and often take the lead at the camp sing-along. If you get on their bad side, the campers can call down Apollo's curse and make you speak in bad rhymes, so watch what you say.

Apollo's symbol is the lyre, and a laurel wreath.

@[G] Tyler Jefferson Sorry, not sorry, Apollo thought the moment the high-pitched screams of the young boy reached his ears—the curse wouldn't harm him in any way, not that his skin will burn or anything. But he was right: the phantom pain of the sun's burning had sufficed for a temporary revenge.

Oh, if only Hermes hadn't been so busy, Apollo would've summoned that brother of his to give his own child a lesson. Then again, Hermes hadn't been the most responsible of parents around, he figured.

"Revenge is to be exacted to the right people, boy," the sun god shook his head with an amused expression, crossing his arms as he leaned his back to the door of his children's dwelling. No doubt some of them got awoken by the screams, but they'd have to watch from the windows, if anything.

"You messed with the wrong person."

Or the wrong god, to be exact.

Apollo's irises turned gold once more, and the curse was lifted without a word—but he then walked up to the son of Hermes, his expression turning stern.

"Next time I find you messing with my cabin, I'm not going to lift that curse."
[G] Tyler Jefferson 8 years ago
@✹ APOLLO Tyler internally laughed his off from his hiding place, but little did he know that something worse was already coming his way.

He was momentarily piqued with curiosity as to why the camper blurted out words that reflected some sort of superior aura - like a curse? It was rare for Apollo campers to possess that power, and the mere fact that the victim of his contraption was someone of unknown identity got Tyler on an upper stage of anxiety.

The tall demigod immediately paled in realization, feeling all the blood inside his system boiling due to intense heat that caused him to sweat buckets, /literally/. Horror overpowered his once mischievous expression, aware of the curse casted upon him as it did felt like the sun was burning through him at maximum heat - and Tyler just had to take off his shirt out of instinct because goodness, the scorching pain was too much. "Hot. Hot! Crap- it burns!" The male shouted, his voice a few octaves higher than usual, as he quickly left his hiding place - which was downright stupid, because he thought that it would disappear if he moved to another place, but unfortunately, it didn't.

He barely took notice of the other's reaction, but the son of Hermes was sure that the other might have been fond of witnessing his agony of being burned to bits. Tyler could've sworn he looked like he'd gone nuts - jumping up and down due to the undying heat that stung his feet's every step, his shirt nowhere to be found, his jeans probably drenched in sweat that looked like he peed his pants and not to mention the constant, unmanly screams that emitted his lips.

It was horrible. Tortured, he was, and he couldn't do anything about it.

"Stop- Stop this, please! I'm sorry, okay? Dude!" Tyler shot him a helpless look, eventually cutting his pride in half as his eyes silently pleaded for this to halt.

@[G] Tyler Jefferson Really, Hermes and those children of his.

Just the night prior, during the cabin's unusual private jam session, Apollo and his kids (who took him as a normal camper due to him having the appearance of a mere 18 year old boy) had been talking about how Cabin Eleven pulled pranks on everyone including them, and some of his older sons boasted about having returned the 'favor'. Like father, like son, he'd thought—but never would he imagine that he would be the victim of the prank himself, and just in time he actually visited the camp.

He'd just brought the Oracle back to camp last night, the sun chariot now parked discreetly behind the Oracle's place. It was already morning, and Apollo knew he'd have to chase time again soon enough. Quietly, he slipped out from the bed (where he had pretended to sleep at, because he didn't need sleep really) before everyone else woke up, heading for the door.

Only to have a bucket of ice cubes falling right on his head just right when he opened it.

"Curses!" He exclaimed, wiping the cold water from his face. The next second a golden light enveloped his frames, and all the ice cubes had just evaporated into thin air due to the heat he'd emanated.

"Damn you, Hermes," Apollo muttered, knowing that 99% of the possibilities says that whoever does this came from Cabin Eleven. True enough, he'd seen who did it exactly—a boy who was now hiding by the side of the cabin.

"Whoever does this will experience the burning of the sun wherever he go." he cursed in his anger, eyes glowing golden for a moment before it dimmed out, just as the anger ebbed.

"Come out, son of Hermes. I know you're there."

@✹ APOLLO [ sorry it took a bit long omg ;; ]

Although it might seem nonsensical and shallow, Tyler considered pranking as an art. He had always been a fan of variety and tend to pull clever tricks upon whatever resources he can put his hands on. Indeed, pranking was an art he learned to appreciate - whether it was to deceive its victim, to serve a hidden purpose, or to simply
let it happen for entertainment purposes. The concept itself was enough to steal his interest in a snap.

It was a well-known thing im camp that Tyler and his siblings were always up for a little fun and mischief. They'd misplace a few things here and there, set up minor wirings by the stairs of a few cabins, triggered the fart bombs and all that, and it would be enough to keep them laughing. You may call them quite the sadists, but they somehow enjoyed the show, especially Tyler, for it seemed to be the best time to make his childish reveries come true.

Though there are times that his pranks would backfire at him.

The male demigod woke up to an unknown form of trickery - having his eyes blinded with an intense source of light that nearly burnt the sockets of his eyeballs. Tyler barely even took notice of the people behind that prank if not for the information passed by a sibling of his. Apparently, a few guys from the Apollo cabin decided to let him taste his own medicine after the shoelace prank he did under their table a few days ago.

Tyler immediately felt the burning passion to get back at them. And so the next day, he got up from bed before dawn, took a few yards of chicken wire and metal clips inside the drawers of his bedside table, a bucket full of water from the bathroom, and sneaked out a bag filled with ice cubes from the kitchen's fridge. With stealthy footsteps, he worked on a classic contraption by the porch of the sun god's cabin, his hands swiftly pulling the chicken wire into tight knots and pinning them upon the edges of the door frame with the metal pins. The tall demigod was already covered in sweat the moment he was doing the finishing touches of his ultimate prank, putting up the bucket filled with water and ice, and just in time the sun was slowly coming to view.

Grinning to himself, the son of Hermes went to the side of the cabin, leaning against its wooden walls as he waited for his work's magic to happen.

@Eric Nam Leo put his head down, trying not top make eye contact with the other or the Ares kids. He had enough of them. He knew the other thought it was just rivalry between cabins, but it went deeper for Leo. Many of the Ares kids bullied him because he was gay, and he was different. He didn't like it and he didn't like them. That's why he chose to stay Away from them.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo frowned deeply. He sighed and nodded. "Yeah, pretty much." He said, looking around. He wanted to look anywhere except the Ares kids. He nodded briefly. He smirked. "Yeah. And the worst campers here." He says quietly.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo looked over at the other and shrugged his shoulders. He didn't really care that much for his dad. He wondered why his dad was such a player and why his own mother wasn't enough. "Us 2, the Oracle, and a Roman. " He says, his voice was quiet. He looked around, seeing a few Ares kids come in.

@Eric Nam Leo nodded to answer the others questions. "We push a part of our food into that fire over there, as a sacrifice to the gods. It's kinda like a thank you for not killing us today. " He said to him. He looked around. "Don't worry, they'll come soon." He told him.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo grinned ear to ear at him. He smiled as they reached the tables. He sat down at his favorite spot. He looked over at the other. "We get served whatever we want. The server already know what we want, so they just give it us. He patted the seat next to him. "Come, sit here. " He told him.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo sighed, feeling relieved that the other would finally drop the subject. He was so tired of it. He didn't want to be reminded of.... him. He walked outside of the Cabin and started to walk again. "It's just this place that has a whole bunch of picnic tables. We sit with the other Apollo kids. " He told him. He started to run. "Come on! Let's get the best seats at the table!"
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo was tired of the talk about Romans. "Can we stop talking about this, now?!" He asked, his voice more harsh than he meant. He sighed as he continued to mess with his ring. "Look, I have a bad thing with Romans, can we not talk about this anymore?" He asked, scowling. He started to leave the cacabin. "Come on, let's go to dinner. " He said, wanting to get the conversation over with.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo nodded his head. "Good. The Ares kids will make your life miserable. " He informed him. Leo thought back to his first time meeting the Ares kids. He scowled as he thought about it. He was glad the other didn't hear him talk about his ex boyfriend. He messed with the ring that was on his left hand. It had a the image of a lyre on it. He looked at him. "The Ares kids, along with a lot of the campers here, hate the Romans. They're like our other half. People would get mad at you. " He told him. He continued to mess with his ring.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo looked at him, and saw the uncertainty. "That just about explains them. But that's not all. They're the bullies of this camp. " Leo looked at the ither and narrowed his eyes. "What do you know about Romans? You say that here, again, you'll get a weapon in your back. " He told him. "Even though my ex was one...." he mumbled. He thought back, remembering his old boyfriend. He sighed as he looked at him. Leo Smiled weakly. "Archery is fun, especially for us Apollo kids. " He said to the other,. Leo wondering what the ither was thinking.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam (It's okay~ I was busy with another rp, so it's fine. I'm just balling my eyes out right now.)

Leo chuckled and nodded. "We have a lot of campers here. Just, stay away from the Ares kids. They're bad news. " He advised the ither. He ran into some of those kids, and regretted it completely. He hated how cocky that were. Leo scowled as he realized it was practically illegal in every way for him to do it with his new found brother. And it even more, because he found the idea of it being forbidden enticing. He sighed to himself as nodded his head to answer his question. "Yeah. We have Archery for most of the day, then it's hand to hand combat. After that, though, we have to drive the chariots. " He told the other, smiling slightly at the others bright demeanor. He took after his aunt, more than his dad when it came down to personality.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam (Lol I usually do really quick replies. I was watching my little sister dance, so that's why it was so late)

Leo's main instrument was violin, but he could sing, play guitar, piano, and drums. He was definitely a son on Apollo. Not to mention, he got his father's looks, to top it all off. He usually had girls begging for him to ____ them. But at last, he was gay. He turned the girls down, not really caring if they cried or not. He smiled slightly at the other, finding him quite cute. He nodded. "Yeah, there's a lot more people. Our dad was a player. " He told him, grinning at him.
[G] Jung Taekwoon 9 years ago
@Eric Nam Leo sighed as walked into the cabin. His cabin leader had told him they were getting a new kid, so he had to stay behind and help the kid unpack and everything. He opened his trunk and pulled out his violin case. He plucked the strings, trying to make sure they wereall in tune. He heard a voice behind him, so he looked. He saw a kid that was kind of awkward. "Hey, I'm Jung Taekwoon." He introduced himself. "But some call me Leo." He smiled softly at the other.

[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Ryu Saera "Okay, so I can just call you by name, then." Sunggyu said, though he smiled wryly for a moment. Really, to think that they're siblings but they're discussing what to call each other... it's weird. Then again, being children of a god is already weird enough.

"As to what to call me... which do you feel more comfortable with? I feel weird being called by name because you're a lot younger, but maybe I can get used to it. So... I guess it's your call."

He didn't want to make her comfortable either. Setting blood ties aside, he had been chosen as the counselor... and that was what he has to do.
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Ryu Saera So it's a habit, then... Sunggyu himself was more prone to waking up late than early, and this struck him as a trait that might not be his father's for once. Though, he only nodded at it.

"Calling you 'whatever' sounds fun." He chuckled. This half-sister of his seemed to have the sense of humor; maybe even more than his own. "Nah, that was a joke," he quickly continued. "You have a nice name. Wouldn't want to make fun of that."

Not when he had enough of the kids making fun of his, too, for at least the first decade of his life.

Her question had Sunggyu considering, really, but there was one thing he wanted to make sure firstㅡand so he did.

"Who's older between us? I'm 24..."
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Ryu Saera It was refreshing; Sunggyu heard the faint sound on his side, but when he opened his eyes, Saera was already going back to sit on the steps. So he let her.

The greeting made him smile, though faintly; not that he would actually call her 'sister' too. It just sounded too unnatural.

"Good morning, Saera." He replied calmly. "Yeah, I did. You're awake early though."

A short pause followed.

"You don't mind me dropping the formalities, do you?"

Well, at least they're siblings, though he didn't really know who was older, so...
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Ryu Saera Morning came, but Sunggyu was still asleep. He was used to going to sleep past curfews and wake up later than most, after all.

The sun was shining over their gleaming golden cabin, through the windows and its rays fell on his face, yet he didn't wake. Dreams never seemed to leave him alone; back then outside camp, it weren't this... vivid. But maybe it was just because he's in camp that it felt more realistic. And yet, he would soon forgets some, if not all of what he saw, the moment he wakes.

A blessing and a curse.

The moment he stirred awake and opened his eyes to the sunlight that would've blinded him if he was any mortal, he took a deep breath.

"Morning, Father."

And after he got dressed, the male demigod - upon noticing the unfamiliar celestial bronze weapon laying on one bed - walked out of the door soundlessly, only to find his half-sister sitting on the steps.

Not making a sound at all, he breathed deeply as he stepped forward to the sunlight, closing his eyes as it shone upon him.
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Ryu Saera "Yeah. No problem." Sunggyu nodded. A walk throughout camp with a sister... doesn't sound entirely bad. Maybe they can get along. Or maybe not. But at least he could get to know her moreㅡhe was the counselor after all, so this was actually a duty he has to fulfill if anything.

He chuckled looking at her running back to bed. It wasn't anywhere near morning yet. The moon would still have been in the skyㅡthe sun still on the other side of the earth.

"Dawn might be better."

And he went to lay on his bed as well, sleep claiming him from reality soon after.
[R] Stephen Krause 10 years ago
@[G] Ryu Saera She's a bit... luckier, Sunggyu thought. He never had anything from his father until he met the snake-haired lady who would've... well, without the gift he wouldn't be here now.

But he nodded nevertheless, in understanding; though, he couldn't help but smile slightly at how the girl yawned — it's still honestly hard to term her as a sister when they were practically strangers.

"I will, if you want me to." He replied lightly. "Go to sleep first. You can wake me up tomorrow if you want to start early."
