the stench of peril permeating the shadows sharpens his senses to a depth that even captures the faintest yawn of a cat resting on a windowsill. but even though he could tell he’s practically alone in this void, he basks in its serenity as he makes his way to accomplish his goal of delivering his, dare he say, humble alms to the orphanage— a personal tradition since he reunited with the community. unfortunately, a rip on his feeble sack impedes his journey as dozens of gold coins paint the pavement. “for goodness’ sake,” he briefly sighs out, taking a few moments to regain his composure before tying up the bottom of his sack into a tight knot and collecting the coins one by one.
