The two of you became friends, something Kyungsoo wasn't used to.  This connection can go either of two ways: either you were the one the person above cheated on Kyungsoo with (which would require some plotting with the aphrodite connection), or you and Kyungsoo had a falling out related to some changes in your character or Kyungsoo's broken off engagement.

Kyungsoo didn't really care about love or romance, disliking how you talked down about what he and his family did. The two of you never really got along. The engagement ended when you cheated on Kyungsoo with a regular client of his. Refusing to marry you, the few times the two of you meet is super awkward.

But when they saw the blacksmith couple with a son of splitting image of them, they knew that Do Kyungsoo would cause them issues.  And so, they gave you a task. Get close to Kyungsoo, become his friend, and demand him to come back to their family.
