　　The tension in the air is thick enough that Donghyun could probably cut it with a knife. He greets Jiwoong briskly before his attention turns to the staircase at the appearance of his father, the youngest son's expression schooled back to cold stone. He doesn't show his father weakness. More weakness, that is; already bad enough that Kim Hyeonjoong stands next to him, as glaring a sign of Donghyun's /weakness/ as anyone could seek to find.

He sits when told to, stiff until Hyeonjoong sits next to him — stiff even then. This isn't a situation where he's at ease, or can relax, and as the alpha beside him addresses his father, Donghyun bites the tip of his tongue, gaze fixed straight ahead. He knows why they're here for this 'family dinner' but he would rather be anywhere but. He's been backed into a corner — both of the alphas at the table seem particularly good at presenting Donghyun with ultimatums and forcing them to bend to his will.

Maybe it's a bit bloodthirsty, but if he had his choice of it, Donghyun would kill two of the four men at the table, and Jiwoong wouldn't be one.

Footsteps broke the quiet, erratic sounds hinting that more than one person was joining them. The alpha shifted his gaze to the source, a large and fancy staircase, which soon revealed two men he was familiar with: one of the subordinates who had tied him up in the warehouse, and the other was the very older brother who had given the command.

The professor quietly waited while the two siblings reunited, his attention half on the wolves and half on the decor around him. It was when he felt fiery eyes on him that he turned his gaze to the older brother. “Good evening,” he let out, showing that he would not back away. He wasn’t expecting a warm welcome to begin with, stares wouldn’t be enough to scare him.

The hostile exchange between the older brother and husband-to-be was soon interrupted by the arrival of the main star of the night. Hyeonjoong repeated the greeting, this time aimed at his future father-in-law, and sat down as instructed. It took him a second but the spot he chose was the seat right next to Donghyun. For good or for bad, they were engaged and had to get used to being close to each other, to fulfill their role as a couple. “I’m honored to meet you, Mr. Lee.”

He had given his children one task and it seems he couldn’t delegate them anything as they had completely disregarded his demands . Walking down the stairs he glanced over to the main room hearing the voices of his sons along with the alpha .
Entering the room he gives them a cold sharp gaze “ evening gentlemen “ he saids the men entering the room and the maids pulling his chair out for him to sit. Taking his sit he looks at his two sons and the alpha “ Sit “ he instructs as he Sits up straightly

Leading the bastard into the dining room. Pursing his lips he looks at his men ..” keep a watch outside and tell the others to surround the house father is in town “
His voice was stoic as he reaches the bottom of the stairs .

He knew this wasn’t going to benefit his brother in the slightest the dining room was only used for occasions and he knew this one wasn’t one to be completely festive over . The last time he spend a time here was the very last meal he had with his mother before their father took her out.

Although he said other wise Jiwoong knew their mother didn’t die from natural causes as he was told years ago .

Taking a deep breath the Beta enters the room to meet gaze to gaze with his brother and then narrowed his eyes at the beated up Bastard of an alpha seeing him covered in bandages and it’s then when he smirks feeling proud of his work .

“ Brother “ he greets Donghyun stepping up to him to pat his back his sharp gaze meet the alpha with a cold deadly stare.

　　Family dinners have never been fun before, but the prospect of this one is particularly stifling. As per usual, Donghyun and his siblings arrive before dinner is meant to start, but there's even more tension in the air than normal; today more than ever he hides behind the armor of a frosty expression and a quiet that mostly keeps his brothers from bothering him as the time ticks away, ebbing ever closer to the fateful dinner. Their father has yet to show his face, and perhaps that's for the better.

The doorbell rings, and Donghyun excuses himself to answer the door. Again, probably for the better. Donghyun is unfortunately the least threatening of the siblings, and the one Hyeonjoong is best acquainted with, even if he barely knows the omega's name.

Swinging the door open, Donghyun makes eye contact with the alpha on the other side and then steps out of the doorway, holding the door for his fiance. "Come in," he says, less invitation and more command, before leading the alpha to the dining room, grim as a man faced with a firing squad.

He had been invited over for a family dinner, his first chance to get acquainted with the family he would be marrying into - of course, ignoring the one time he was beaten up by his brother-in-law-to-be. The alpha wasn’t naive, despite the courtesy of the invitation he knew very well he was walking into the lion’s den, where the father was the lion and the siblings were the hyenas. It didn’t help that even his fiance would rather see him dead, any misstep and his position in the family would be threatened. Still, he wouldn’t back away. He was set on raising his child and building a family for her, no matter how twisted the beginning of his relationship with Donghyun was. That being so, he waited patiently for his chance to talk to the patriarch, until he heard steps becoming gradually louder behind the door.
