ABOUT — It was the golden age. Two universes, two earths, so different and yet so alike, superheroes had always existed in each. And each world, no matter how different the paths might have been, always had protectors to watch over it, guide it, guard it and keep it safe from the darkness waiting in the depths of the unknown.
Most of those protectors started alone before forming bonds with others of their kin, becoming the great ones we all knew before things went awry. One, a league that fought for good and justice; another, avenging those who had been wronged.
These teams marked the birth of a new age—the dawn of superheroes.
When our two worlds collided, everything changed. We were pulled together in a great, devastating crash that would leave thousands, millions dead, orphaned and horrified. Two sides of the same coin that should never have touched, and yet here we were.
But we were never meant to be safe. With great power came great dangers, and before we knew it, everything changed, once and for all. Most weren't prepared when the snap happened, leaving us as nothing but a floating rock in the middle of the universe, alone against the forces of chaos. Our heroes were gone, leaving the world unguarded. Vulnerable. All of them, gone in the blink of an eye.
What we didn't realise, couldn't have realised, was that there were still those with these incredible abilities out there. We should have known. While some dreamed of living up to their predecessors, others wanted to take the world for themselves.
Now is the time. Now is when the next generation of heroes take up the mantle and bring back peace and justice, the new legacy, the platinum age. In all this chaos and brevity, we will rise again. We will have the sun shine on us again.
rules
general
01. favouriting the roleplay is a must before commenting. upvotes aren't necessary (unless wanting an additional character) but very much loved!
please be aware that we retain the right to reject you application for whatever reason we deem fit.
we accept accounts both brand new and old, but if we find that you are using a second account to secretly obtain more characters, you will be removed from the roleplay immediately without warning.
02. this roleplay will likely not be events based but we are highly encouraging that participants plan in-rp events together to keep things interesting.
03. please roleplay rated threads in their appropriate locations. violent and other triggering scenes must be roleplayed in m-rated rooms, walls and dms. ual threads must be kept to private rooms, walls and dms. always make sure your plot is consensual or else you will receive a warning.
04. Death and pregnancy are allowed. Unless you have planned on your character being revived, death will result in the deactivation of said character from the roleplay. If wanting to have a child with your significant other, you must have been dating for minimum 3 weeks irl. mpreg is not allowed
05. this roleplay will have a three strike system implemented regarding behaviour of the participants. admins are able to give out more than one strike at once (after running it by head admin saorsa) and may remove you from the roleplay temporarily (or permanently) if the situation calls for it.
06. Out of character drama, bullying, harassment, shading other users, etc, are all banned from the roleplay. Bullying and harassment will result in either multiple strikes from the admin teams or removal and blacklisting from the roleplay.
out of character drama is to be taken to your dms to be sorted out privately. should you fail to come to a resolution (or you feel as if you need us immediately), please bring the issue to the attention of the admins. any hostility from either party to each other or to the admins will not be tolerated and will result in either one or two strikes.
activity
01. bubble roleplaying, face-chasing and user-chasing is prohibited.
if admins see that you are bubble roleplaying, you will be given a strike. if you can prove that you are actively plotting then the strike will be removed when we see you start your new thread. it can be hard to start new threads or approach people, we totally get it, so if you're having difficulties then please message an admin!
we understand that it can be hard to determine what is and isn't face-/user-chasing so we will leave it up to your judgement. if you feel as if your partner is only roleplaying with you because of your faceclaim or who you are, and is making you uncomfortable, then please let an admin know asap.
02. inactivity will be set to 14 days however activity will be loosely monitored. while we don't want participants to feel pressured to roleplay, we also want to be active. there will be no point requirement but we ask that you have at least one active thread and two+ in the plotting stages within the first two weeks of joining.
activity checks will be done once a month at random; some will be standard announcement comments, others will be events that roleplayers will be required to participate in in some format.
03. while we are a multi-pov roleplay, we do ask that you be semi-literate to literate.
character
01. if wanting to apply for additional characters, please make sure to follow the below guidelines:
you may apply for a maximum of four characters
you cannot have more than one member of any group at any time
you cannot have more than two of each gender, this is to avoid a male-to-female imbalance as much as possible
for every two heros/villains you have, you must have a civilian character. to keep things balanced, we're kindly asking that roleplayers alternate their characters sections(civilian, hero/villain, civilian, hero/villain or the other way round) but it's not a requirement!
your first character comes free. your second requires an upvote and advertisement blog. your third requires two active threads per existing character (minimum three replies from each participant). your fourth requires an advertisement blog with either a roleplay meme or your character descriptions and three active threads per existing character (minimum five replies from each participant).
02. we do not allow god-modding or overpowered characters in our roleplay. if applying as a hero or a villain, please pick an appropriate weakness to your characters abilities and do not pick more than one 'cosmic level' power if going down that route.
each superhero and villain is allowed a maximum of three powers. if having one or two abilities, you must have one or more weaknesses, if your character has three abilities, you must have two or more weaknesses.
we're not going to allow a character to come in with the ability to reality warp, mind control everybody and everything, and freeze time for as long as they want with no repercussions. be realistic, please. well, as much as you can be in a superhero roleplay.
ideally, try to have your abilities(if you have any) somewhat related to each other.
there is a loophole and no, we're not going to tell you what it is. if you figure it out, the weakness rule still applies.
if we think your character is overpowered or their weakness isn't enough, we will pm you privately and discuss with you :)
03. we allow faceclaims of all ethnicities, all nationalities, (almost) all ages, all orientations and all gender identities.
in terms of faceclaim we're not going to allow, please refer to the following list:
- the deceased
- problematic faceclaims
- underage faceclaims
- cosplayers
- inactive ulzzangs
- adult video/pictorial stars
- those who have asked not to be roleplayed
04. because we'd love to have a diverse cast, we do allow roleplayers to have certain concessions regarding age.
- if you're looking to use a muse between 18-35, you are able to age +/- 10 years as long as they remain above 18 years old ic and ooc.
- if you're going to use an older muse(35+) but would like to age them down to a younger version of themselves, you're able too as long as you're using a version of them that is above 18 years old. the best example i can give you: you'd like to roleplay leonardo dicaprio but don't want to use his current age of 47, you're allowed to use his face from around the titanic-era (20 years old) or the catch me if you can-era (28 years old). the movies named are also examples, not limitations.
