@❀ moon jinhee Once she invited the other in, she reminded herself to apologize for sending the letter short notice, even upon her awareness of her inherit inability to reject her requests. Feeling the phlegm build up, she cleared , as if brushing off her ailment. “I am well, I really appreciate your concern. However, even though you’re a physician, I was not looking for an antidote.” She responded with the ghost of the smile remaining on her face, crinkles forming under her eyes. Though, she wagered the physician herself served as a more relieving cure than the assortment of teas set on the table.

Despite her illness, however, she took long strides into her resplendent home. Confidence eternally coursed through her veins, her wondrous visage shining through and unwavering in the most shabby dress. Exhaustion wore on her to the extent of not donning her usual garments, remaining in her faded blue nightdress. As she slipped a hand in hers, she led her to the chaise and beckoned her to sit down. It was a relief the servants slacked off at such an opportune moment. Jinhee’s dazzling beauty made for an effective distraction both in her mind and within a throng of people.

“Please have a seat, darling.”

Her voice sounded more hoarse than she liked, coughing a little. Gauging the expressions on her face, the woman longed to see the smile that usually resides on her lightly rouged lips.

@❀ kang heejin On a day like any other, Jinhee had been thinking about Kang Heejin, going through her work with a peculiar heavy heart. Her companion often popped up in her thoughts these days, and she couldn't determine for the life of her why that was. She certainly enjoyed the woman's company, among other things, but how was it that her friend always managed to become the topic of her thoughts at random? As if Heejin knew of Jinhee's innermost thoughts, she had requested the latter to visit her manor.

After closing her teahouse and putting up a subtle signal, snuffing the lamp at the back entrance of the establishment, to show that her clinic would not be open, Jinhee quickly made her way to the Kang Manor. She was curious for the reason that her friend wanted to see her so suddenly, but it appeared that no matter how short notice she was given, Jinhee couldn't say no.

When she arrived, she was about to make her presence known by informing one of the servants, but Heejin found her before she could announce herself. The woman's beauty was mesmerizing, even without elaborate garments or makeup to enhance her features. She was even more beautiful the more she dressed down... but that was a fact she would keep to herself.

She took in the sight before her, her eyebrows immediately furrowing in concern as she noticed the ill state of her companion. Not only was she ill, but she appeared to have something on her mind. She took the outreached hand, interlacing their fingers before gently pulling her back inside to sit comfortably in a chair.

"Heejin-ah, are you alright? You don't look well." she spoke, unable to hide the concern ladened in her tone.

While Heejin did feel slightly ill, with the symptoms of a cold, she was not bedridden. A few doses of green tea and ambergris lathered over her sufficed. Exaggerating her condition, however, she left the letter writing duties to her brother, who in turn ushered her into an engagement. His desire for another engagement was far from
subtle, with her common rebuttal being: “If you need one so badly, why can you not do it yourself?” Begrudgingly, she filled a small cup of hojicha, her hands gripping the handle as she cursed Dongyul for his obsession, and his incompetence in securing greater power for the Kang clan.

Heejin did anything to secure a clandestine meeting with a close friend, a very close friend, while her brother exited the estate on emissary-like duties. A reprieve from his harangue of her declining fertility and steadfastness in remaining a “spinster”, her ears had enough of nonsense rattled in her ears.

Clearing , she opened the doors of her manor, ambling out of the comfort of her interior to be welcomed with another source of tranquility.

“Jinhee-yah. Come on in.” A hint of a smile tugged at her lips as she held out a hand for her.
